Why do people like this arc so much? Was I simply expecting too much? I mean don't get me wrong, it has some good moments but it doesn't really compare to the Yorknew arc, also it's drawn out too much.

Now that I think about it, this was truly being in love, for Meruem, since for Komugi it was more akin to being infatuated by someone who is unexpectedly kind and protective while being powerful. But Meruem finally had found someone he admired, who surpassed him in something, and his reaction was of being overwhelmed by admiration. I think that as we get older, we if have the luck of truly loving someone, we figure out that we love the people that we admire in a certain way because they seem to have something that is unnatainable by ourselves

Meruem is the answer. How He develope, learn things, fight and how He end. This are really well made and interesting things. IMHO Ant arc is 10/10 rest of HXH is 4/10.

Tbh, I prefer Yorkshin too, but the anime kinda botched Chimera Ants by adapting just 2 chapters per episode when Yorkshin was almost 3 per episode and Greed Island 2.5.

The only thing that I didn't like about the arc was that some of the ants looked a bit too cartoonish, but HxH's style in general tends to be like that.
