I just finished watching the original anime episodes on netflix. That ending was good and bad at the same time, gonna watch the movies now.
To my surprise both Asuka and Rei are shit tier, people have been fighting over them for years now. If you like Asuka you are probably some kind of masochist because she is so annoying and egocentric all the time. Rei just has almost no personality, if you like her you might have self confidence issues because you want a girl that is easy to control.
Seriously though, both of them suck and I'd never want to have a relationship with either of them.

When I first saw Eva in 2009 I expected the Rebuilds would have all been over by 2015 at the latest. From 2014-18 any Eva news at all was rare, so the series might as well have already been over considering the lack of activity or enthusiasm. I think I’d have preferred this ended closer to schedule, but who knows how these 8 years have inspired/changed Anno for better or worse and how they could have been if made earlier.
