I find it weird that they put so much focus on Douma being sociopathic and how you can't sympathize with him like the other demons, even though Enmu was like over 80 chapters ago and we didn't even get that guy's backstory despite him clearly being on a different level of nasty than other demons at the time

Yeah, I feel like Enmu had a lot of potential to become a relatively deeper character than what we actually got. His seemingly infatuation with and veneration towards Muzan was pretty interesting and I think it would’ve been cool if we at least got a feel of what his relationship with Muzan could’ve turned out like if he had somehow survived. But I guess Muzan would just remain indifferent towards him like he is with all of the rest of his underlings. I feel like Enmu probably was one of the most dedicated to his job out of all the other demons though so who knows how Muzan would’ve reacted to maybe getting to know him more.

You pretty much described the whole manga.

I love this series but it sometimes sucks at buildup and focusing on what matters. For being as fast as it is, I'm definitely far more invested in it emotionally than similarly fast-paced shonen such as Black Clover, though, so I definitely have to give that to Wani.

The biggest issue is that they don't care enough to do a decent job. Translating Pig Assault as Coming Through is bad enough, but changing it to Longhead Rush in the next instance, and then finally settling with Boar Rush proves that they didn't put much thought into it the first time (or they have multiple translators and they didn't bother to check for consistency).
They also made blunders on at least two occasions. One is assuming the one Zenitsu was looking for in this fight is Muzan, even though he didn't mention any name. Another one is pic related. Both of these have nothing to do with Japanese comprehension, but can be avoided if the translator didn't make unnecessary assumption or actually paid attention to the panels.
In addition to that, Viz is in no rush to have the 80+ chapter in the middle translated, which pretty much guarantees that the translator hasn't read them either. Good luck with getting good and consistent translation from them.
TL,DR: official translation sucks and is less professional than 2 anonymous guys on a mongolian basket-weaving imageboard.

I just read the whole manga in the last 2 days so forgive me if I speedread some part.

It never had a deeper meaning to begin with, you could already see during his final Spider fight that during the trance Zenitsu can be partially concious if he pushes far enough, all that boiled down to his lack of confidence and resolve, when the issue with his master happened Gotouge just used as a mean for Zenitsu to go the next level and drop that trance thing.

His overall loudmouth and overreaction doesn't stop, that kind of humor ressonates better with the japanese, but despite that Zenitsu is never useless nor gets in the way other's with his cowardly tantrums, and he gets several key fights which never disapoints as the series goes on.

However a very recent event changed him a lot, but that's very late in the series and it is unknown if he has dropped his antics for good.

It doesn't STOP, but it's definitely downplayed more, instead of it being something that is focused on for whole chapters. There won't be a point where he's whining at Tanjiro again as badly as last episode - he might just be scared of shit, but less so in battles, and the flashbacks given will at least make you appreciate his actual character more.

Crunchyroll usually tells their translators to match up how the official licensed material is translated if there's one, even if it is shit, so since Viz has the manga under their clutches so Kizuki it is for the subs because Viz says so.

If they're in any of the countries that Viz has the distribution rights to, and the translation is overtly similar, then yes. A translation is a derivative work, but the actual work done to translate and write the script in another language is considered an original work in the US, Canada, and EU. Taking that translation and using it would legally be considered plagiarism.
In the past it didn't really matter but thanks to the internet the speed of production and release has increased so much that translation ownership has become an actual legal issue. Sometimes a company will issue a C&D just to prevent further content from being made so that they can produce the translation themselves.

It's a really spotty area in IP ownership atm and not covered clearly because of the nature of translations. In current IP law a translation is its own intellectual property.
Basically VIZ is fucked unless they completely buy out the translations, or sue them into the ground over illegal distribution and acquire the rights that way. Or they have to make the argument that the translations are public works due to the way they're distributed, and can argue that the translations are part of the illegal distribution itself due to how many groups have patreons and shit.

So did some of the other demons, like the Pot one and the Emotions one: douchebags in human-life, douchebags in demon-life, and douchebags in Hell.

Maybe the translator slipped up, but usually that's how it goes with Crunchyroll, since they are "official" it is required of them to match with other official releases.

Because if it is the final arc, like you said, its going to rush to the a very disappointing end. All of the main characters aren't doing so hot, and Tanjirou needs to be there for bare minimum Muzan, and he really needs to be there for UM 1. Tanjiro is literally half dead and even with the new powers he awakened he still couldn't beat Akaza one on one, what kind of insane asspull would be required for him to get the fuck up, beat Kokushibou and Muzan now? This is an standard battle shounen, no subversions for the sake of subversions won't happen, Tanjiro will be the one to defeat Muzan, but not now.

The start is pretty bad and awkward, it gets a lot better later on though and in my opinion the current fan translation is better in quality than the VIZ version. If I’m not wrong I think the TLanon changed at some point which is the reason the quality differs so much.
