I don't know what constitutes a "normie", but if it's someone who has watched as little anime as possible, I'd assume it would be either something that they watched dubbed as kids without even knowing that it was anime like Samurai Pizza Cats, or something so widespread that even they would have access to it like Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball, Cowboy Bebop, or Evangelion.

I know there are kids who thought the ADV dubb thought it was some saturday morning show, but the thing was it was shown on a saturday morning network once then quickly pulled.
None the less the acting in ADV dub is superior to the netflix one but that doesnt say much.

I would say a normie now is anyone who isnt aware of a particular anime that is being discussed and isnt a huge fan about it.

The ADV dub had a lot of flaws in it, but you can tell the voice actors actually put effort into their roles unlike the shitty netflix dub

Yep, I agree with you 100 percent. Plus, the new Netflix dub changed some lines in Evangelion that worsened/cheapened the overall impact of the scene, like the EOE fapping scene and Kaworu's declaration of love
