Kaijuu No Kodomo or Tenki No Ko?

Which has the bigger chance to defeat Toy Story 4 at the Oscars?

Neither.

Not a valid answer. You have to pick one.

They both have a 0% chance of beating Disney.

toy story 4 was bad.

Disney was beaten by Sony this year.

Sony isn't some random anime.

It all depends on the hype in the public and the oscars campaign the studio does on behalf of the picture.

Your Name was great, but I'm not sure if it was technically the best film that year, and Funimation sure as hell did it no favors. GKIDS can get Weathering With You a nomination, but the actual award?

Just get Guillermo Del Toro to shill for “Weathering With You” and it’ll win the Oscar.

Spider-Verse was legitimately great though. It deserved to win, far more than any of the other candidates.

Toy Story 4 is so much worse than the previous 3. But it doesn't really matter when fucking Mirai got an Oscar nomination. Children of the Sea is already out, mixed reviews and overall reception is really disappointing. Tenki no Ko might actually end up as best one for this year, but it doesn't stand a chance at winning an Oscar. Really disappointing year so far.

Tenki no Ko looks like the average Shinkai garbage.

Well, some critics have compared it to “2001: A Space Odyssey”

>Kaijuu No Kodomo
No chance
>Tenki No Ko
Possible, but unlikely. It's fucking disney.

>Oscars
Also, not even the Oscars care about animation.

Like I said, mixed reviews and reception.

Well Makoto Shinkai is a soulless hack and only deserves a nomination for worst director so for me it's the other movie. Looks cooler anyway.

Loving Vincent got mixed reception but everyone praised the visuals

Neither, since none of the voters will have watched either of them.

the general japanese audience is really dumb, many thought this was some mainstream ghibli type movie because of the MV marketing
