pls to teach me, sensei?!?!!?!?!?
How to become an elite watcher?
Why does this image describe Wings of Honneamise as being "smallish budget", when it was the highest budget anime film of all time until Akira came out a year later? Nausicaa had 1/8th of the budget of Honnemise, so fuck off with this lying bullshit.
watch k-on
Watch all the popular anime to tell other people how shit they are. And also watch these "classic" or "underrated" anime and keep boasting about how great your judgement on anime.
yeah the writeups are all exaggerating hard
Watch HxH and ironically shitpost about it being good
Lurk for two years before posting.
>Shinkai garbage
Shit list
Mardock Scramble is shit.
Your name is actually good though
someone post the shows you need to watch before you can post on Yea Forums pic
bumpu
Gonna be honest, Read or Die is shit. It being on there makes the list look like garbage.
Any anime recommendation list with claymore in it, is made by a moron who never saw more than 5 anime and most probably needs english subtitles to each anime.
The old charts really do need an update...
>"advanced"
cope
Well OP, have you watched those?
I’m pretty sure that image is bait, there’s even an anime inside there that isn’t even released yet.
>Cowboy Bebop somehow most recognised and watched anime for Westerners
>Not Dragon Ball Z
Who the fuck wrote this?
I'd assume a lot of people don't really think about Dragon Ball as an anime. Mainly out of ignorance.
Bebop is known first and foremost as 'the anime you show non-anime fans'
Read or Die is worth watching because Yomiko Readman is adorable.
People are going 'x is bad', 'y is bad' but you gotta keep in mind that everyone likes at least one bad show. As long as these are personal works (albeit later edited by other people) and not crowdsourced to hell there's bound to be at least one weird pick. It just makes it more fun.
this. charts are inherently shit. I’ve never gotten all of the chart obsession on the media boards, it’s all redundant, arbitrary slop.
Watch Evangelion, it's on Netflix.
This
I wish R.o.D The TV was better. Great 1st episode, Great Soundtrack, Good Characters, Crappy Plot.
How to become a insufferable hipster basedcuck.
Fuck off with your forced cutesy bullshit. Stay in /jp/ where you dumb moeshits belong.
What are you looking for?
Actual answer: subject yourself to everything. All decades, all types of anime. Watch the classics, watch obscure shit. Think for yourself. Avoid dubs in general. Learn to love anime as an ARTFORM rather than a means to deliver you a plot.
>avoid dubs in general
More like avoid shitty dubs, there shouldn't be anything wrong with a decent one.
So ‘in general’ applies nicely. Actually i’d argue that shitty dubs have more to offer. ‘Good’ dubs will just be slightly worse versions of the japanese with RARE exceptions, whereas truly shitty dubs have their own special appeal.
True patriacian realization is that its ok to drop shit you don't like. Never give an anime more than a couple of episodes max to catch your interest. If it's uninteresting, no matter how much people gush about it, then into the trash it goes.
>not seeking to understand why others like what you don’t
>not enjoying analyzing a show you aren’t particularly fond of by figuring out what works and what doesn’t and how it could change to be better
>patrician
You are like a little baby
Agree with this, but you run the risk of something you would legitimately enjoy. I struggled to get into Trigun at first, but it picked up a few episodes in and had a great second half.
still worth a watch.
Read*
only watch high quality anime
Holy fuck I watched almost all of them
I agree, same with Ergo Proxy. I can understand someone putting texhnolyze on there but ergo proxy was hot garbage from the jump and only gets worse.
Watch literally whatever you want and drop anything you don't see the appeal of immediately except if it's something relatively popular or often recommended. This way you can "see for yourself" and form opinions and a personal taste for tropes and genres.
Huh, I'd never heard of Freedom before.
