Finally got around to watching the last few episodes of Eva, thanks to friends buying into the hype and making me feel obligated to finish it. And man, both of the endings for Eva are fucking AWFUL. >Accept your individuality, but join a singular hivemind >Reject the hivemind, everyone dies
Fucking atrocious, while I definitely understand how it was so impactful as a series, and I get why so many people love it. But I'm pretty disappointed, to think such a lauded series ends on such whiffs.
Anyways, Why Do So Many Animes End Terribly thread. Shoutout to DitF
Anyone that wants to come back from being tang can. The viewer is beaten over the head with this at the end of the movie but some people still don't get it for some reason.
Luke Bailey
Everyone didn't die, they get to a big ocean of soup together, and Shinji is with the hot chick he liked.
So everyone wins!
Evan Smith
Then why didn't anyone else come back?
Hudson Ortiz
Well there's that scene when Kaworu, Rei, and Shinji are talking and there's naked bodies appearing. Even if that doesn't mean anything, the place where Shinji and Asuke are isn't the only place in the entire world. People could have appeared in other places, or maybe Asuka and Shinji are the first.
Carter Walker
Because the world is fucked.
Asher Young
Other people will come back when Asuka gets pregnant
Joseph Bell
Final scene still seems to hint that they went into a brief fit of madness from waiting so long and no one else coming.

I really didn't want a billionth Eva thread, it's just the most recent -for me- anime that ends fucking terribly, and Im really just so fucking tired of it. I think the only recent ending I liked was Devilman Crybaby. I'm assuming for a lot of these shows it's hard to get a satisfying ending because they're ongoing manga's, but for shit like Claymore, that deviated heavily from the manga, it really is so tiring that a satisfactory ending can't be reached.
There's nothing wrong with Eva's ending. I don't see how you like Crybaby's ending but dislike EoE's ending. But going off of the OP you don't even understand what EoE's ending is about so you can't expect people will take you seriously.
Andrew Campbell
EoTV is the biggest pleb filter in anime. EoE is more conclusive and I would probably be disappointed if EoTV was all I got, but since EoE exists that's a non-issue. EoTV is fantastic, just not as an ending.
Jace Parker
Some are still working their shit out in the tang oceans, the rest just don't want to return. It's really not that hard if you actually pay attention.
Ethan Wright
user, posting cry baby just makes you look like some underage with zero taste by the way. it's not helping your argument.
Jose James
What if none of them want to return?
Nathan Long
The tang is what everyone wants. Why the hell would you leave unless you enjoyed being miserable.
Oliver Hall
EoTV is fucking atrocious, contradictory dogshit. Accepting yourself and understanding individuality, only to be consumed into a singular hivemind, for no reason other than "stagnated evolution" is retarded. It's inexcusable and I can't believe NGE managed to become popular in spite of it. It should have killed the series, turning it into a footnote of the mecha genre and the 90's.
Easton Rogers
You can (not) redo this awful post. Sorry man but it kinda feels like you missed the point on this one.
Ian Reed
Jeeze man what did Eva ever do to you? Its an anime show, not the complete works of Shakespeare.
Brayden Taylor
The ending for the serie was not great. Its just a giant deus ex machinima youtu.be/hf1DkBQRQj4
I mean seriously, everyone is happy and Shinji fixed his relationship with others? Just thanks to a flick of a switch? Get the fuck out
