anime>manga>ps2 game

Literally nothing.

The second cour sucked so fucking bad I had to force myself to finish this shit

>Hyakkimaru not saying Sayonara (Gokko) to Dororo before he leaves for years

I'm so upset ;-;

Attached: 1.jpg (125x90, 2K)

The story was always meh and never the focus, the biggest strenght of this series was the main characters, and they got shafted really hard in the final episode, we only saw dororo and hyakki interact ONCE (1) the entire episode, that's the most underwhelming part of the ending to me, everything else is okay.

Tahomaru definitely deserved better, he lost his house, his kingdom, his friends (and arguably his waifu), and his brother, he was literally left to die even if it was peacefully, i know the series makes the point that he chose that path, but it just felt too cruel for what the character was, he arguably had it worse than Daigo.

Still don't get why the mother and the prosthetics guy died in the fire. Why the fuckk didn't they all escape, they had enough time

Imagine mating pressing Dororo

Why didn't they get Tahomaru out tho???

So this means the mannequin guy was a secret lover of hakku's mother for many years and Daigo is a cuck?

he was dead the moment he gave his body to a demon user, they respected his will to fight with his life and let him end it how he wanted

In these past threads, it has occurred to me that witnessing Aniki without his fake eyes, as beautiful as he may be, feels wrong and unsettling.

It may be because he has only had them for two scenes, but unlike other characters whose eyes are strange, Hyakkimaru puts me at unease when he's not wearing his fake eyes. As if that is not how it should be, as if I'm not suppose to see what I'm seeing.

I believe his face is beautiful, he is a very pretty guy, who makes me question my sexual orientation. His eyes are that of a beautiful girl, and so is the structure of his face. Capturing his beauty on paper doesn't come easy, I bet.

His hair are also very comforting, almost reaching waist level, it appear soft, like those of a pretty young lady.

It all seems wonderful, as long as its hidden away by the demons, which appears as if it's purposely there to seal away that beautiful, mysterious gaze of his.

I still recall of a scene where Hyakkimaru peeked over his shoulder, ever so slightly, to grab Dororo. I couldn't help but freeze myself for a second, and stare at his face, focused on gazing at the world that stood before him. That very face, felt as if it was a blessing, which no mere human like myself was allowed to experience.

In recent threads, there's a lot of Ikemen!Hyakkimaru, which creates a disturbing sensation which goes down my spine every time I see a screencap of him. Is this right? Should I look away? Should I keep watching as if nothing was happening?

How could I possibly pretend that his face didn't give me a feeling of discomfort. That was simply not possible. thread after thread, he is there, as precious and graceful as ever, perhaps even more than usual.

To think that we will never see that face again, makes me feel even more upset. If mere hours after the anime aired have this overwhelming effect on me, what of a full-fledged life? How could anyone, anyone at all, withstand such a thing?

I was really pissed that We didn't get to see the first thing that Hyakkimaru saw

We did dumbass, rewatch the fire scene where he opened his eyes.

But we did?

Party is over, dude.

We did. It was his two moms.

What the fuck. I thought it was just from a spectator's view. Maybe I am dumb

Didn't Yea Forums realize until now?

>sample
Wtf dude. Delete that shit.

Why is Dorororo still dressing like a man after becoming such a bijin?

Maybe you just didn't pay attention. There's a shot of Hyakkimaru opening his eyes, then the next shot is of his mom and the Jukai. It's in soul-vision for like a second before the color flashes in. Then it focuses on Hyakki's mom for a moment and then on Jukai signaling him to go before the entrance to the secret passage collapses, sealling Hyakki away from them.

It fades from his soulvision to real life and it was cut between shots of his eyes so it was indeed his POV.

Do they get married?

>That beginning with Hyakki and Taho
>They're arguing like brothers, children at that
Damn.

>That is MY room
>And in that corner there was a tablet, MY TABLE
>Hyogo and Mutsu were MY friends
>And this is MY dad palace
>No, it's MINE
>NO
Thanks, Hyper Satan.

Has the ost been released?

We did. I was just honestly hoping that the first thing he saw was Dororo.

I reiterate

WHY DID WE ONLY GET TO SEE ADULT DORORO FOR TWO SECONDS

No, but it's saying that what awaits them from now it's certainly not only suffering.

He was just giving his brother a tour of the house.
>This is my castle. I was raised and trained here. This is my room. Dad bought me that desk and a horse! Over there is the kitchen. The snaks in the pantry are mine. This is the garden. It's not much to look at right now because of the season and it's on fire, but during the spring, the flowers bloom and it gets really colorful. The flowers are mine too. Follow me and I'll show you to the living room. It's mine.

Will it ever get released?

I don't think so. Am I dumb or the site doesn't have info about it?
They should have cut the awful OP and give us Hyakki saying goodbye to Dororo, and more seconds of teen Dororo running towards Hyakki.

He had to see his mom for the first and last time. At least he called Dororo pretty.

It hurts so much.

Manga: hyakkimaru part ways with Dororo before killing all the demons.
PS2 game: hyakkimaru kills all the demons and gets with adult Dororo

now I can't help but imagine it as an episode of Cribs with Hyakkimaru kicking him out after the tour and Tahomaru telling his mom

The live action was pretty good in my opinion, the ending seemed to suggest that they were planning a second movie.

According to Wikipedia:

"
After he regained his eyes, Hyakkimaru figured out that Dororo was female, though Dororo rejects the notion and refers to herself as a boy despite Hyakkimaru's insistence to act more feminine. Hyakkimaru also wanted Dororo to fight with the farmers against those in power because Dororo's father was a farmer. Hyakkimaru gave his sword to Dororo, the one that he had desired throughout the series. Hyakkimaru planned to continue his journey alone, agreeing to meet Dororo again when Hyakkimaru's body was whole. They parted, with Dororo crying at the doors. It wasn't until 50 years later when the last of the 48 demons was slain.
"

This ending was quite different and dramatic.

Yeah, he is a piece of shit.

Yes, he's a piece of shit who only cared about wealth and being in power and sacrificed his first born to get it.

CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! POST MORE

It didn't look like that but now that Hyakki got his eyes back you can notice that their eyes have two different shade of brown, it's a nice detail.

No, although seeing him like that was very satisfying. That said, he's by far the best version of Daigo so far.

Daigo commits honorable sudoku.
Hyakki kills a possessed Tahomaru but is saved from turning himself into a demon by his mother (I didn't like how he suddenly became a goodboy again, didn't feel earned). Nui gets to rule over what's left of Daigo's land.
Jukai survives and keeps doing his monk shit.

She'd manage to fuck up more than her husband

Didn't he get that back from his brother already?

>I didn't like how he suddenly became a goodboy again, didn't feel earned
He didn't. He didn't kill Tahomaru because he realized that they're the same and that despite having everything Hyakkimaru ever wanted, Tahomaru also felt incomplete. And the reason he left in the end was because he wasn't sure that he could live like a human yet after everything he had done.

Nips are asleep, there'll be more in the next days I hope.

I almost pity him

Did mom and dad really have to kill themselves in the fire like that? Even Tahomaru was probably still fine.

Of course. He's a retard who acts like the land's suffering is all Hyakki's fault when it was only Hyakki's sacrifice that even gave them a reprieve in the first place. He honestly doesn't understand what he did or what the purposes of his actions were when he sacrificed his son. He's basically a single-celled organism, having no form of original thought, never learning, only reacting to stimuli. "MUH THREAT TO DAIGOLAND, MUST STOP".

Like seriously when you get to the point where you're blaming your sacrificial lamb for the hardships you're facing, it's like, do you have a goldfish memory? The land was going to shit (UNDER YOUR FUCKING RULE, I might add, so you were probably a shit administrator) long before Hyakki was born.

She hasn’t even hit puberty yet and he’s already flirting with her

Yeah, I basically wanted the first half of the episode to be the final fight / closure and then the second half to be loli mating press.

Why do I always feel an emptiness when good shows/manga end?

Glad I watched it.

~7. It was a good adaptation but I wish the animation was less inconsistent and the ending episodes less rushed.

Hyakkimaru ends his pursuit of bodyparts and becomes a medic like his "mom", eventually Blackjack gives him cool robot prosthetic.

Attached: [HorribleSubs]%20Young%20Black%20Jack%20-%2009%20[720p].mkv_snapshot_06.59_[2015.12.01_06.46.04][1]. (1280x720, 396K)

Overall satisfied. Would've liked some more polished animation at parts and maybe a little more character interactions but will totally watch it again.

God that's horrifying.

7.5 or 8. Seconding animation to be a bit better. I wouldn't say the last few episodes were rushed, just predictable. Wish they did something different from the play. Also wish there was more happy moments. Too much suffering.

It really dipped in quality after the first confrontation with Daigo and family. Not completely, there where some good episodes and some bad, but overall the first half felt stronger.

>Just get eyes back
>see Dororo
>just get hands back
>goes off by himself into the forest

3 guesses as to what he's doing in there.

I thought they were gonna give us a completely unblurred ED but since they didn't they really should've used the ED as an insert of a montage towards the timeskip instead and maybe show more of them together.

8/10 Party is over, fire was given and ending was better than the manga and wrapped up nicely. Fuck the Episode 4 TTGL animator for that moth episode that was unforgivable.

Attached: 40767AF0-99AF-4EE6-9F1E-FC8B7BC68E5E.png (1280x900, 2.61M)

He's a tragic character but still a villain to the T.
A lot of pain and suffering could have been avoided if he didn't immediately try to kill Hyakkimaru on sight.

He's not a total scumbag though like the other samurai who murder, pillage, and torture for no reason...but if given any kind of motivation to fuel his lust for power, he'd do it just as easily.

>Worse than Daigo
nigga Daigo got to live like a king for like 20 years just by sacrificing his firstborn to demons. Not a bad deal at all

i see no difference

JUST

I give it a 9/10. I loved it.

Some of the animations were jank but they really pulled through where it mattered. Amazing story. Some of the second half didn't need to be emphasized so much and I wish Dororo/Hyakki had more chemistry and dialogue but overall best thing I've watched all year

What was wrong with moth mommy?

That episode was terrible. Didn't feel like a climax at all. They didn't emphasize critical parts. It's like shit just happened and it didn't hit you particularly with the sound fx. Ep was kinda silent throughout. Pacing was also off - too much Biwamiru talking.

Compare the episode to

GIVE ME DOUJINS.

The animation quality dipped during the moth episode due to Osamu Kobayashi directing it, same guy responsible for episode 4 of Gurren Laguun looking off compared to the rest of the anime. I was also looking forward for the Moth fight getting animated, so to see it get a sloppy treatment at the hands of him stings quite a lot in my opinion.

the current ongoing Dororo to Hyakkimaru manga, the PC-88 game

I wasn't looking forward for the fight as much as looking forward for the interactions between Moth and Hyakki.
The anime seemed like it was going for more of a grey morality and the Moth looking to raise her babies with her husband seemed like a good opportunity to expand on that plot. Instead we got "QUALITY" animation and a rushed plot.

I liked the ending.

I only wish they showed a scene or anything that implied Taho and Mama made it out of the burning castle and lived in the countryside or something.

Shut up fag. At least he gave reasons for his score. Have u even seen the sky before?

It's implied that they just kidding they're fucking dead

I'm pretty sure that moment kickstarted Dororo's puberty.

They are Japanese, killing themselves is necessary for them for so reason.

b-but muh japanese honor

Why the hell would they leave Daigo? I actually like the part where only Daigo survived and realized his mistakes. Also how Tahomaru felt emptiness. That's character development.

There was literally no reason for Nui, Tahoumaru and Jukai to let themselves be consumed by the flames.
Forced drama.
On another note, adult Dororo is like a prettier version of her mother.

Isn't it implied Daigo dies moments after Hyakku walks away?

Overall a pretty mediocre experience, though it had some high points. Doubt it will stand the test of time, but not the biggest time waster in anime history.
Dororo became a handsome man in the end. You know he want with the Three Stooges and spent at least a tenth of it acquiring MILFs for his harem on the journey back. Hyakki will enjoy them too once he comes back, the momcon.

Who knows, but Hyakkimaru should be remembered as one of the best bois/characters in anime this decade (or ever)

Cuckoo cuckoo cuckoo

The hardest part about the ending for me is that Tahomaru didn't really make any unreasonable choices. He was forced into a shitty situation by his dad and given his options, I bet few would do things much differently. He only made a deal with the demon to save his waifu. I would've liked to have seen him have a chance to learn from his mistakes instead of die. Taho deserved better!

>She still looks like a child.
That's the point, dumb grandma fucker.

>Hyakki never used the katana he carried

What the fuck? Now I feel like the one time he pulled it out when facing a demon was a storyboarding mistake.

Well I'm pretty sure Tahomaru was actually dying from demon poisoning and that had him let out that scream of pain just to make it clearer.

Whatever Dororo considers themself as, we know 100% they're fucking moms while Hyakki is gone.

>She still looks like a child
Presumably she still is a 'child' there.

Didn't he use it when he got his arms back?

Fuck off ANN.

He already is, being over 50 years old and all. Time will tell if this particular version stands the test of time like the original.

>the first thing he saw was his mamas and brother about to die

Attached: 1402630326893.png (756x542, 391K)

Nope. He kept using his arm blades using duct tape. He never once pulled out his katana.

I seem to remember he used it against the fox demon. He probably used the arm blades instead because the blacksmith improved them, while his regular sword has no outstanding qualities. He did break Tahomaru's sword, so you can't argue with those results.

Dororo and Hyakkimaru splitting up felt true to the old anime and manga but it also felt at odds to what this new adaptation was building up to.

Showing them supposedly meeting up again after a timeskip makes it a more satisfying ending than those but it also makes you want more than they gave us.

Yeah, but what "kid" is has changed with the times.

As little as 80 years ago it was considered relatively normal to marry and fuck an 11-12 year old.

He was too interesting for me to hate, and he got his just desserts.

What was interesting about him?? He was the same as every other samurai.

I wonder if he ever got them actual hilts after he left on his journey

Name 5 other samurai in anime who are the same as Daigo please.

>fight of invader for his land
>probably mortally wounded
>ready to give his life to atone for his sin
Cant hate the dude honestly. he probably dont even know what things the demon gonna take when he made his deals

The guy who betrayed Dororo and her parents. The guy who gave the demon sword to the other guy. The Samurai that murdered Mio. The Samurai that burned down the villages and took prisoner the kids.

"Doing it" out of marriage was always taboo regardless of age. As long as they're married it doesn't really matter. Just look at historical ages of consent in the US.

Pretty good. Animation could've been better but they managed it well, with the exception of that one godawful episode with the shit director.

>to atone for his sin
This is literally head canon.

5/10 the manga was much better. Tahomaru was an awful addition to the anime.

I don’t mind the separation as much as I thought I would, the implications that came from some scenes in the final episode really helped it feel satisfying.
Dororo needed the time to use her inheritance for the people and build a village that didn’t rely on samurai, possibly also becoming a leader which would be faithful to the manga. Hyakkimaru needed the time on his own to atone for the people he has killed and by the implications from Biwamaru’s background, Hyakki probably spent his time killing demons and saving people while on his travels, making him a direct parallel to Biwamaru and his mama.

In the first episode he made a deal with demons that resulted in his kid getting zapped and losing all of his body parts.. And he said, "Works for me."

I see. You're too smart for me, user.

I squealed like a little girl at this scene.

Nice bait faggot

Hyakki is so beautiful. YES homo.

I can appreciate too that in this case there were only a few years of separation, rather than them following the manga and having it be 50.

Even after he realizes what a fucked up piece of shit he is he was still thinking about his own power
>Maybe if I didn't feed Hyakkimaru to the demons he would have succeeded me with power

The only wrong he did was the contract with the demons the rest is justifiable.

War is pretty bad too, user.

War is part of nature and life.

Now they have all the time in the world to repopulate their clan.

So do they meet again and marry?

Doujin of Dororo fucking the farmers, so that she can be experienced enough to surprise Hyakkimaru when?

>That would still be kinda weird. She’s like 14 and he’s like 20.
Yeah, she's way too fucking old for him considering the time period. Dororo's basically a cake.

That's actually not a big age gap, and during that time period it'd be normal.

Why, yes. They're meant for each other.

Easily the best anime of the year.

I didn't notice that. That's good.

I need to make a correction to this. Someone else just pointed out that second image isn't Sukeroku and his mom, it's Mio and one of the orphans. Makes more sense although Hyakkimaru was unconscious during that part so he shouldn't have seen it.

Attached: Mio and orphan.png (1280x720, 638K)

Episode 1 was right outside Daigo's land?

I want to draw old Dororo. Do I give her the long dress like her mom or the pants like Okowa? The latter seems better imo.

Attached: 388A63D9-A732-44BA-A9D8-B2BE0C588045.png (1334x750, 2.6M)

He's relatable that's for sure, I can't say I disagree with his logic, but I don't think he's in the right.

10/10

>She’s like 14 and he’s like 20.
And?

>She’s like 14 and he’s like 20.
It's okay even for current age.

No it wouldn’t? 14 year olds are dumb as fuck and immature. I guess Dororo is an exception.

>14 year olds are dumb as fuck and immature
Humans are mostly always dumb as fuck, so it doesn't matter. Dumb 14yo will be dumb even in 30s.

Eh. I’d say 16 or bust. Unless naivety is your kink.

Pants suit her more as a tomboy. Post your result!

I really want a second season even though I know that if it happened it would be a shitty cash grab.
Well, my mondays will be even shittier from now on

But that's a game.

holy fuck ;-;

Ovaries probably got a jolt.

>the current ongoing Dororo to Hyakkimaru manga
Is it any good?

I'd say an 8/10. It wasn't perfect but I liked it. Hyakkimaru and Dororo's VAs were what saved the interactions.

Hopefully we get a season 2.

I heard Young Blackjack was pretty shit, but I liked it adding Hyakkimaru to the Tezuka star system.

The anime seems pretty popular judging by the amount of fan art. Hopefully it's seen as a worthy investment.

Now that Hyakkimaru has got his body back, a Season 2 wouldn't make much sense.

such a highlight

He left them in the demon heart, so no. Those things are gone.

Neat!

Oh I haven’t drawn in a long time. This inspired me to pick it up again. Here ya go.

This is actually very believable. He's a broken man. His entire life has been a struggle for power and success.
His path to redemption if he chooses to follow it is still gonna be long and difficult. He won't become selfless and peaceful overnight. His old ways are deeply rooted in himself that it shows even when he admits what a POS he became.

Draw them even older with a baby.

I like this style

How many babies will they make?

Not just innocence, he sacrificed Hyakki's potential to be the amazing warrior-hero-prince that could have led his family's name to glory instead of the ruins it is now

Dororo looks more manga-like in the OP than she does in the anime

Attached: mpv-shot0001.jpg (1920x1080, 244K)

Hyakki inherited the best qualities of his parents, Daigo just fell into despair and didn't believe in the potential of humans anymore.

I think that shot is meant to be a reference to the original Dororo design.

Aww I didn’t realize he was giving her a piggyback ride.

Attached: 1519689074823.jpg (830x468, 22K)

I think the OP was one of the first things they made and they just hadn't finalized the design yet. Her look is different depending on the scene in the OP

Attached: comparison.jpg (1920x2160, 540K)

Eww!

Glad I dropped this

Mob psycho > dororo lewd

No. That's left up to viewer interpretation.

Yeah, to me it felt less like "Hyakki's a goodboi now" and more like for the first time he took his first active step to not take the extreme and restrain himself, this one time. By that point he's not "good", but he is more open.

STUPID SEXY ANIKI

>restrain himself
>first active step to not take the extreme
Or maybe he's now fully human, and he can finally embrace what it means to be human, including not having to ruthlessly kill to become whole again.

>Only a glimpse of Future Dororo
MOTHER FUCKERS

I'm saying because he finally realized human empathy on a conscious level vs Tahomaru that he decided to restrain himself in the first place. That doesn't mean he's atoned for everything he did before, but it's his first step to making it a possibility to atone.

test

>episode 1 is the start of the series
>episode 24 is the end of the series
k i n o

I still don't understand the show trying to be morally gray with hyaki. Literally everyone he killed was a bad person that was actively trying to kill him or someone he cared about. But it acts like he shouldn't have done any of it.

What did grownup Dororo look like in the original anime?

It really doesn't work considering the setting.

It's "just deserts", user.

What?

Hey man, they could have saved Tahomaru but they didn't. The guy probably didn't want to die but he got burned to death. Fuck this shit.

I think they were going for the angle that even though he was killing bad people, he was still taking life. And you know how all stories about war always make the cliche that once you kill someone you're never the same person.

I wish mama smurf had survived. His, hyakis fake mom, and his brother dying felt kinda forced sinse they had tons of time to escape.

Heck, most of the demons he killed had outright wiped out / been terrorizing entire villages. We're supposed to believe the "moral" thing to do is to let them stick around for hundreds of years killing thousands of people instead of ripping off the bandaid now?

What the hell even was Daigo's plan, surely a demon would have gotten killed at some point. They're terrors. There would eventually have been a gigantic manhunt to take them out. Or if not Hyakkimaru, surely SOME wandering ronin would kill them. Tahomaru almost did one in himself, nobody yelled at him about it.

>most of the demons he killed
Dororo, Mama, and the priest were worried that Hyakki was going to kill people more indiscriminately that just demons. And we saw him single handedly wiping out Daigo's army like a raging beast. I think that part especially they were worried he would become nothing but that.

I'm tired of this.
Tahoumaru died because the demon consumed him.
Jukai had wanted to die from the very beginning but hadn't let himself because he was looking for atonement before he went.
Nui wanted to die to atone for giving up Hyakkimaru and never having loved Tahoumaru.

We never saw Grown up Dororo in the original Manga. That story ends with Hyakki and Dororo parting ways way before they kill all the Demons.
The closest thing is a manga drawn by Go Nagai and from a computer game from the 80s.

On one hand, I'm sad that the party is over, but on the other hand, I'm happy that Dororo and Hyakkimaru both got happy endings

To be honest as much as I loved the original series I think this was mostly boring. I can't remember any episode I really enjoyed.

I told you homos, Hyakkimaru leaves. Only the game had non-canon shit where he goes on adventure with a grown up Dororo.

What about the 1969 anime?

it ends the same, hakkimaru leaves her and supposedly dies after killing the final demon 50 years later.

>50 years later
feels bad

The original story made more sense in that the road to recovery was too dangerous for Dororo and she finally had everything she needed so he gave her the sword she kept trying to steal from hyakkimaru but realise that she wanted Hyakkimaru instead and the sword was an excuse to follow him.

Solid 8/10. Really enjoyed the whole thing. Wish Rapidash had been introduced sooner though.

>he arguably had it worse than Daigo.
How the fuck did Daigo have it bad?

>We're supposed to believe the "moral" thing to do is to let them stick around for hundreds of years killing thousands of people instead of ripping off the bandaid now?
No and I don't know why you think that was the intent. It was very clear that dealing with the demons in the first place was a bad idea and that this fake prosperity couldn't last. The disasters caused by Hyakkimaru killing the demons were just something that was bound to happen sooner or later. What worried Hyakkimaru's friends about his actions was that his obsession with hunting down the demons was making him increasingly violent and they feared that he would become a demon himself, killing anyone who stood in his way.

>Dororo will get mating pressed by those 3 random villagers
This is not fair bros....
I can't believe aniki is a cuck.

How long was the time skip?

Not that long. Hyakki looks generally the same. Dororo looks way different because of puberty. Maybe like 3 years.

... that wasn't hyakkimaru it was just her imagining he came back.

Can we agree that the mom was the real villain? I can't get myself to like or even feel bad for her. Even Daigo was trying to save his land. The mom didn't give a shit about the land, her husband, or Tahomaru. She only cared about Hyakki and even then all she did was fuck his shit up and never really help him.

Attached: [HorribleSubs] Dororo - 24 [720p].mkv_snapshot_11.03_[2019.06.24_23.13.14].jpg (1280x720, 285K)

>Dororo getting fucked, ever
Dororo is the only one doing the fucking around here, and only on mommas. If you want you could become a male mom and let Dororo fuck you in the bussy.

The only thing she did wrong was not love Tahomaru
Daigo is still the villain

wives had literally no power and it's not like she made the deal or even knew Daigo was going to make it.. if she hadn't been praying to the goddess of mercy all the time hyakki wouldn't have even survived the deal

Reminder that it's teenage dororo, not adult dororo

Rest in Peace Mio
Loved this anime, and the ending was nice
What are the chances of a second season. Is there more content that can be covered?

>huge necks with tiny chins
The Young Black Jack character designs were so ugly.

No way, why would Dororo be older then?

>watch
are you teasing us with the idea of a second season covering dororo's wacky adventures in search of her man with enma kun ?
i would watch it, even if it means mappa nerfing enma kun in the process to fit him with the remake's tone

How did Daigo not keeping producing sons with THAT?

That's a hag.

Well yeah, what did you expect? Everytime he got something back, the first thing he experienced with it was a negative thing.

7/10. Ending was meh, but it didn't shit the bed which is all I ask of anime/manga nowadays.

No the first thing he saw was his smiling mother and smiling mama. Then Dororo.

i expected/wanted him to die.
he got something better

Tahomaru was already dying and Nui wanted to make up for being kind of a bad mother to him so he stayed there with him. But yeah Jukai dying was kinda dumb.

Oh yeah, because your two moms smiling totally makes up for the fact that they are also sitting in a burning building waiting for an extremely painful death, retard.

best mom gone T__T

Attached: jukai1.jpg (3840x2160, 443K)

I saw some retards replying earlier in the thread to some other retard asking if it was implied he died... I'm pretty sure he died. They made it a point by showing his hands were covered in blood and he was dripping all over the figure. He went there expecting hyakki to kill him, but was offered a chance at redemption instead.

ps2 game ending was better

>six year gap
so if she's 20 and hyakki 26, is still weird?

Didn't they redeem Daigo by saying that the demons had been controlling him from the start? Cause I seem to remember that being the case and thinking that it was bullshit.

lol they could literally be mother and son

I liked it.

>spirit of Dororo

Attached: 24.jpg (1280x720, 136K)

Nice catch!

Why didn't they even try to bring Taho out?
Why the fuck didn't they even assume he'd be able to survive?

Tahomaru totally didn't deserve that ending, dude only tried fighting for his people, Daigo was a dick, mom never loved him, Hyakki was autistic

All he wanted to do was help his own people given the circumstances he found himself in, and it's not as if he didn't see the conundrum that he faced had he picked allowing Hyakki to claim whats his, he just was following the ends justify the means

He definitely looked like he was driven by envy much more than by his desire to help his people.

last of the exits could have been gone after the tunnel went. and the roof soon went after that. he wasn't going to survive in this version either way. it was bittersweet seeing his mom being with him in his final moments after feeling unloved all his life by her. at least he got a decent characterization and death this round.

Am I the only one who thinks its super awkward how he dies with Nui and Tahomaru? Dude has next to zero connection with them and this is the first time they met, yeah they all die together. Nui and Tahomaru hug each other as mom-son while a stranger like him standing here ruins the atmosphere of the scene.

Was he envious that his own mother loved Hyakki despite never knowing him yes, but his first introduction clearly shows that he cares most about his friends and his people over petty squabbles, yes he wanted to kill Hyakki, however it's more complicated than just "he's jealous"

His first reaction also was to question Daigo until he realized that Hyakkimaru was who his Mom had been thinking about all those years and then he was suddenly on-board with the idea. I'm not saying that envy was his only motivation, but it had definitely consumed him by the end when he was screaming at Hyakkimaru about how the castle and everything in it belongs to him and how Hyakkimaru should give back what he took, meaning their mother's affection.

Sure, hes still a kid, I think he's 15 or something like that, I think it can be summarized that he hates Hyakki because everything Tahomaru had Hyakki was taking away, his mother, his land, his people, he really was left with his only way out of taking him out or having those things slip away

he snapped once he tried to impress his father, stand up for his new found brother, then his mom nearly died for hyakki instead of him.
he wasn't happy with what he found out about what his parents did in the beginning.

So what was that weird rock monster thing that came from underneath the castle ?

The final demon is really a big waste. Only few demons actually put up a good fight against Hyakki so I expect the final boss to be a hard fight, yet it got one shotted. Would be much better if Tahomaru is possessed and transforms into the demon then overpower Hyakki. Jukai sacrifices himself to save Hyakki. With the help from Nui, Tahomaru fights against the demon from the inside but not enough, so Hyakki decides to save Tahomaru by killing both him and the demon. The fight results in the entire castle destroyed. Only Hyakki escapes while Nui chooses to stay with Tahomaru at his final moment.
That said, I like how the producer lets Daigo live in regret rather killing him like any typical villain

It was the 12th demon's true form. Looks like it was hiding in the foundation of the castle the whole time and was kind of harmless without a human puppet. Pretty neat concept for a final boss.

Probably a heart of the final demon that was bound to the land. Question is, if it was able to influence the land throughout the show's run, maybe it was influencing it even before to bring it to the brink?

nah, they all are connected through hyakki. and I'm glad he didn't die alone and miserable.

so that part they wanted and never got was his heart

I'm not crying! You're crying! It's raining !

Attached: Untitled.jpg (1366x768, 137K)

I'm glad we got a happy ending

Attached: Untitled.jpg (1366x768, 160K)

Just take it that the final demon was Ahomaru and his stooges. Killing the heart thing was just a formality.

They never explained too much why Dororo went as a boy, but I guess Hiakkimaru telling her she is pretty made it act more like a girl later.

>They never explained too much why Dororo went as a boy
They didn't really need to. It was safer for her to pretend to be a boy while hanging out with a bunch of thieves and rogue samurai

Party was over between the break. Second half and ending clearly rushed out of budget, went off the plot rails.

>girly dororo telling everyone that her spouse is away so they won’t bother her

Meh. My niece was 17 when she got pregnant. The dude was 38. He took responsibility

That's ok because if we simplify character motivations and conflicts as much as you're doing there, then they would have been cool with it as long as Taho-sama says that it's cool.

just because she was in a fucked situation doesn’t make it ok

Oh, she wasn't in a fucked up situation at the time Though, the reason they ended up together was because she WAS in a fucked up situation, and got out of it

I hope Dororo and Hyakki make lots and lots of beautiful children together.

How's she doing now? All better?

>Hyakkimaru only got to fuck granny Dororo while the other 3 random dirty peasants probably pounded her loli cunny to oblivion

Oh yeah. No idea when they're getting married, but my great nephew is cute, and my sister enjoys babysitting for her while she works and finishes high school, and eventually starts her hairdressing courses.

That's good.

I really didn't see the need for mom and woodmaker dying

It perhaps wasn't the optimal way they could have gone about writing his death but it was definitely serviceable and probably the best we could have got given the amount of time remaining.

They did Abe, enough to repopulate the land after the war

I'm not completely satisfied with the ending and I would have added more meaningful interactions between Hyakki and Dororo in the last episode, but overall it was a pleasant journey and I'm sad that the party is over now.
Even if the story and the animation have their ups and downs along the way, this still remains a great adaptation to me, one of the best anime I've seen in the last ten years.

>they’re the best part about the show
>barely interact in the LAST EPISODE

How will Hyakki react when he finally sees his reflection?

okachan...

Porn would be a total disrespect for one of the pillars of modern manga aspiring mangakas look up to.

I know that there are people who call Dororo a girl after what the nun said, but here’s the thing: If Dororo really identified as a girl, then he would have made it clear to others.

In episode one he gets beaten up by those merchants/thugs, and if he had said: “I’m a girl, don’t hurt me!”, they would have surely not have beaten him up like that. And when he’s in the onsen with Hyakkimaru, he just asks him not to look at him, but he doesn’t specify that Hyakkimaru shouldn’t look at him because he’s a girl.

In conclusion: Dororo is a trans boy, he doesn’t identify as a girl and neither do others think that he’s a girl.

The trendy and easy way of shitposting on Yea Forums right now is to pretend to be a fan of BnHA regardless of what the thread is about, but this guy wrote this whole shitpost using the SJW theme just so that it would be relevant to Dororo. We truly have the best shitposters. I'm going to miss these threads. Keep being the bros you are, everyone.

I've never seen it before, is it recent?

Tezuka was a /d/egenerate, user. Do you think he just had Hyakkimaru suffer extreme dismemberment just because it was suffering? Have you seen his stash?

Can't believe nobody made this but with Hyakkimaru.

The show needed one more episode than it got. The final demon should have gotten a proper fight and we should have seen at least a few minutes of the timeskip.

At least Tahomaru was the one to finally defeat the demons. By refusing to be possessed and giving Hyakkimaru back his sight he ended the conflict. I think he's a character that gets too much hate, in truth he's a kid devoid of love trying to do his best for his people.

Nah they should have just reduced the number of the filler episodes.

Link please

I wouldn't call Tezuka-sensei a degenerate, user. Hyakki is aware of the concept that humans have created for themselves that is what the call a "female", so he refers to "her" as such. However, Dororo would always retort very loudly; loud enough that other people might hear him. Plus, Dororo is always using male pronouns, in every Dororo-related media. Revealing that Dororo was born biologically female doesn't mean that the pronouns he uses don't matter anymore.

It's a shame that people ignore that Tezuka made Dororo a boy. A lot of people on Yea Forums ignore the author's intent. Dororo hates being called a girl, and wants to perceive being a boy; he never concedes to being anything other than a male, in the comic and in the show.

Heck, even take a look at some of other Tezuka works: Metropolis, Michi is a robot that is able to switch genders; Astro Boy, a comic where the robots obviously represent a discriminated group, features a scene where a robot expresses desire to become a female robot, but is told that robots are unable to switch genders; Princess Knight, where Sapphire is born with both a male and female heart, and is forced to live as a prince before deciding to throw away her male heart live the rest of her life as a princess; and finally Black Jack's Kei Kisaragi, a woman who, after getting her ovaries removed, decided to live the rest of his life as a man.

The real question is: Did Aniki come back to Dororo at the end (maybe, considering the bridge), or did Dororo find Aniki (maybe, considering the rice fields)????

underrated poast

>Hyakkimaru: I won't kill you because you're a human like me.
I find it really odd that Tahomaru didn't callout that bullshit one-liner, especially since Hyakkimaru just killed his two HUMAN loyal retainers/best friends a few minutes ago.

Would be nice to see a ova of Aniki doing stuff he never got to do before

>get friends his own age
>get girlfriends (not really a challenge)
>get drunk
>get a new outfit
>rice paddy farming during the day, demon slaying as community service/side job
>settles down and married Dororo at the end

I think it's Hyakki who came back to the village, he knows the location.

>Plus, Dororo is always using male pronouns, in every Dororo-related media
She uses neutral pronouns to refer to herself, in localizations you will have gendered pronouns. While anyone who discover the truth just call it as what they saw. Here in 19's she doesn't even try to deny the fact she's a girl nor retort the idea that people don't see her as a boy, but only tries to hide it for obvious reasons. And in the end she's fully open about it when they meet each other.

>It's a shame that people ignore that Tezuka made Dororo a boy
Hyakki also carries his intention when he leaves and says that Dororo should grow and accept to be a woman. That's his ideal world, one which a little girl can live without fear of been herself because the country, and world in general is a shit place for women. Also, Tezuka Production is behind the anime, Tezuka's family, and if they don't see anything wrong with Dororo being a girl and accepting it, nor should anyone else.

Also, yeah. Tezuka was a furry degenerate.

The reconciliation was handled in a poor and rushed way, but it was more due time constrains than bad writing. The final meeting with Hyakki's family should have been split into 2 episodes.

That wasn't why he spared Tahomaru. Watch it again and this time pay attention before you say stupid bullshit. Also, Hyakkimaru didn't kill Tahomaru's retainers. Watch that one again.

Why doesn´t he dress like a girl anymore?

It's a nice touch that their first encounter was on a bridge (with the bog monster) and they got reunited there as well.

She can´t wait.

Still wish we could sing this.

Heh women dont understand politics.

You retards would honestly let tons of people die from starvation Aks desease just to save one person? Sacrificing one person to save many is the moral choice.

Well I guess some ending is better than the complete non-ending of the manga.

Who tops in this relationship?

So...how big is he?

well and my grandfather and grandmother had an 8 year age gap i think
nothing wrong here

I know he was going to burn to death anyway, but that's just showing off.

The ending was underwhelming.

Top-tier design.

Big enough

>and if he had said: “I’m a girl, don’t hurt me!”, they would have surely not have beaten him up like that
Wow.
>he/his
>Dororo is a trans boy
WRONG.

>Older generation short sightedly selling off the future potential of the next generation for a false peace and prosperity propped up by demonic violence in the now.
Woah, was Dororo a condemnation of the welfare state this whole time?

the fuck's with all this sugar coated verdicts. the show's quality dropped hard after ep12. they threw in some filler and it made the ending so fucking rushed, it concluded in 30 seconds without further explanation.

forgettable/10

Stop giving shitposters attention

This is fine.

Hilarious.

And you're a fag.

How come nothing came out of Hyakkimaru's demon dilemma?
Wasn't there talk that, if he went and recovered his last remaining body part he would turn into a demon, and the only way for that not to happen was for him to give up on it?

Would cuddle with after tender lovemaking.

Attached: 80081735-43F7-466E-99C7-B06B47D3D95D.jpg (600x810, 135K)

My head canon is that if Hyakkimaru killed Tahomaru to get the eyes back he would have turned into a demon.

I wondered about this too, but to be honest the show's writing isn't good enough to tackle such a heavy theme, they went the easy and safe route and just had him spare Taho instead of killing him.

Let them seethe forever.

transfags ruin everything

Even if Tezuka somehow had this planned and decided that Dororo was indeed "trans" in his manga, the 2019 adaptation has NOTHING to do with it, just like they completely changed Hiyakki's character.

every adaption of dororo eventually runs into the issue that it never got a real ending from tezuka so they have to just make up some something

the 2004 video game is a better ending

>the 2004 video game is a better ending

Does it tackle this subject?

Yeah, out of all the responses I've seen regarding this topic yours is most likely right.

A shame really, because now Hyakkimaru seems more like a child that got everything that he wanted back, while letting people around him pay for them.

This is MAPPA's trademark now. It means it's love.

7-7.5/10
I would work better as a movie

Well they cant carry both the narrative of Hyakki being "born" now for the first time after getting all of his organs back AND have him start pondering over highly philosophical shit like that, it doesnt make any sense. They chose to have him go the lawful good route and just have him regained everything without killing close family.

No you fucking moron. What people were talking about is that they were worried he would have to murder too many human beings to get his body back.

His soul was clearly seen as being tainted by that red glow that demons have (that also other characters that kill many humans have). This change visible on his soul was very much a central theme to his character, and the priest said that if he continued down this path he would turn into a demon, which he did continue on, with almost no repercussions.

is this anime good/worth watching? I was considering watching it

Yes, because he was losing sight of his humanity and was casually taking human lives.
Jesus christ it was beaten over your head so many times, how did you not get it?

To me it was. Animation-wise it suffered from being 2 cours and not all the episodes have a great direction, but the main characters are well-developed and make the show interesting. It's not a memorable anime, but if you like badass MCs, monster of the week formula alternating with samurai lore then give it a try.

Reminder Dororo raped Hyakkimaru in his sleep.

You can't rape the willing.

you shut your whore mouth

More like condemning the Showa generation. Can burgers stop projecting for once?

Peak autism

Wasted double trips

Holy shit, I didn't know Blood will tell was based of a anime/got a adaptation. How is it?

Attached: 1559182415477.jpg (800x800, 98K)

You forgot this user (+4)

Your mom

Intense breeding required

Watch it. The anime is much more faithful to the manga than Blood will tell.

>he wouldn't breed a teen Dororo
What a homo.

But you can't breed a boy

Man, she was so cute.

Plus the voice acting was great all around. The dude really nailed it as Hyakkimaru, even if I preferred manga Hyakki's personality.

Pretty sure the only reason Dororo's parents raised her like a boy was to probably keep samurai or bandits from raping her.

He's a big guy.

Slut

Yeah, because America is the only country with a welfare state you obsessed retard.
It’s not as if modern day Japan is an geriatric zombie up to it’s eyeballs in debt, precisely because of short-sighted third way economics and a massive burden caused by senior driven social costs.

That's literally the most generic thing I've read all month. Please never direct/produce anything. And watch more anime.

>Yeah, because America is the only country with a welfare state you obsessed retard.
Actually America is far behind the rest of the first world in welfare. See all the fuzz they make with healthcare. The point is those are burger problems, not Japanese problems and Dororo is made for Japanese people and directed to Japanese audience.

>It’s not as if modern day Japan is an geriatric zombie up to it’s eyeballs in debt, precisely because of short-sighted third way economics and a massive burden caused by senior driven social costs.
That's true but what the heisei often complain is how they can't get into power position because the Showas won't retire and thanks to retarded Japanese culture they still have to use fax because the old men can't adapt to the new times and the young employee are expected to take the blame for their elders's mistakes despite they aren't allowed to intervine before the elders fucked up because again retarded Japanese culture. It's deeper than your /pol/ agenda

NIPS TAKE NOTE!
This is how you end an anime.

Having a good ending is so rare in todays "Gotta make it a franchise or at least make them buy the Manga/novel for the ending" market.

Dororo nailed it by being open enough for interpretation i.e What exactly does hyakki do on his pilgrimige, how does Dororo's town project go, BUT we know they meet eachother again at some point, so it must've turned out well for both of them.

Dororo a cute!

Attached: F967C176-2F98-4E75-ADDB-E33C626B57CD.jpg (1400x988, 135K)

all three of them did terrible shit. Remember prostehtic guys backstory. Mommy let her firstborn be ripped apart by demons, and tahomaru made a deal with them too.
They choose death to atone for their sins. Bonus points for death by fire, which cleanses your soul both in christianity and buddishm.

Loved this anime, definitely aots for me. Wish Dororo and Hyakki had more interactions before the end though

He should have just sacrificed himself if he cared that much about his land AND NOT himself. He just wanted to be powerful for himself.
I magine Tohomaru, being in daigos situation, would have rather sacrificed himself and not his child. That way you get the propserity but your children will have to take care of the land.

Glad she bought herself new clothes with daddy's money

It had it's moments.
