why is anime licensing such a fucking shitshow? Why is pirating anime infinitely easier than literally buying or streaming it?

I'm pretty new to anime in general but since I'm into older stuff it seems like it's insanely difficult to find this content on modern media, and a huge swath never makes it to something like Crunchyroll so a service like that is worthless for me.

An example: Brain Powerd. I've been looking for the DVD set in good condition but because they are in such small numbers they are insanely expensive. I'd gladly pay $60 for a Bluray of the show or "buy" it digitally but it's not available anywhere.

I just pisses me off because I would actually like to contribute monetarily to the studios that provide new dubs, subs or improve the audio/video or even simply just rerelease it.

I really like the scene where Shinji has a proper goodbye with Yui. It's a great way to complete his arc and Yui's theme is such a nice piece.

Texhnolyze character's ambitions seem very ambiguous because for most of the show they're still trying to find out what the fuck it is they want to do, but I disagree on the point that by the end their motivations are unclear; take Ichise for example, for almost all of the show he's just a directionless mass of rage and energy but by the end of the show finds true meaning and purpose in attempting to save the first person to show unconditional care for him. God I love Texh. And Eva too for that matter.

What symbolism exactly you are referring to that you did not get? There is mostly simplistic abrahamic imagery that has little to do with everything else. Almost everything that *happens* in the story is spelled out loud, in literal words of your preferred language, written there in your subtitle field.

Is there a single anime where a daughter walks unnoticed on her mother having an affair with her boss, is not shocked, is not reacting at all and she is barely even shown in the 5 sec scene, and its never mentioned again, but you now know that its out there, the bird is out the cage, but life goes on and its not even your business, just like if you were in her shoes yourself? There are little things like that in every episode, be it a way a character says or does not say something, an image of an unrelated ordinary thing, a background sound of something or lack of sound at all. They are considered "perfect" or complete beings, so the border of their self / ability to impose themselves on reality is way beyond that of a human's. That's why their AT field is so powerful. The later Angels have to progressively work on finding ways to interact with humanity because they don't really understand the human social mind. Kaworu is the capstone of that effort.

Yeah, I think that's a point they try to emphasize there. She doesn't want to get close to men because she's afraid that they will leave her once she becomes emotionally attached. She WAS attached to Kaji, and became scared when she noticed how similar his personality was to that of her father's (in some way). She had to break it off first.

They are individuals for sure - they just don't "coexist" with other Angels and face the Hedgehog's Dilemma like humans do. Kaworu comes closest since he is arguably part human, but he still doesn't quite get what the "big deal" is about the humans struggling through their social interactions.
Kaworu wasn't starving for connection, but he wasn't rejecting Shinji the way most other people were. He comes across as gentle, which Shinji also is.

This is a big part of what Shinji isn't actually a bitch - people that aren't paying attention just feel that way. There's that whole sequence with him running away in ep 4, only for him to realize people are counting on him. He gets in the Eva and immediately get's Ramiel-blasted in the chest and taken straight back to the hospital. The kid is a champ for always coming back.
