The manga is trash with crap art though. And the appeal of the LN doesn't translate to a manga format well at all. Imagine S&W without any of the charm of Lawrence and Holo's chemistry to carry it. All of the interesting things communicated by the novel are 100% the clever narration done by Haru. This results in a manga with horrendous blocks of text and alot of stuff omitted.

I would simply recommend reading the LN instead, if the Manga's art doesn't do it for you. Most of the LN's charm comes from Haru's characterization, and if you don't like her it becomes enjoyable. It's a rather short read anyway. You can wait for the release of the 2nd LN when it becomes avaible, if you liked the 1st enough to want more.
We can assume that that could be one of the possible routes for the second LN. But it isn't out yet.

You must not read a lot. If all you're going by is the first manga chapter, then the only pathetic thing about him is his inexperience with women. It's pretty bad, and thinks it's smarter than it actually is. You get the feeling it wanted to critique isekai's escapist fantasies, but it never really bothers doing that. It desperately wants you to sympathise with the protagonist, and you do at times, but she's mostly just an unlikable bitch. And it also seems to believe that a 'feminist' approach to isekai means 'ridiculous misogynistic hellhole' where the only decent male beings are a fat guy (object of ridicule) and a generic emo demonlord (sexgod who Haru instantly falls in love with).
On the other hand she gets fucked a lot and her friend literally gets raped to death or whatever, so you can always fap to it if you're desperate.
