So this is where Evangelion got its freak out scenes from.

Western cartoons were doing that since the 50s, and Anno probably just got it from 2001 A Space Odyssey anyways
Is that a Gurren Lagann reference
Chint chana toki kara~
No it’s a Kengan Asura reference.
I think Joe might be the best anime of the 70s
no they copied it from eva
Space Odyssey had such scenes?
I recently watched Star Trek TNG S06E21 and there are many scenes that look like they were directly lifted for Evangelion's TV ending.
which episode is that?
The one where he finds out Rikishi is dead so somewhere in the 50s
Ep 51
What would a weeaboo's life look like when flashing before his eyes?
>Western cartoons were doing that since the 50s
examples?
...
If you pause around 0:10 and look to the upper left, you can see something that resembles eva 02 somewhat
This thing?
>Gainax (The Studio literally run completely by Otaku) make q stylistic homage to previously existing Anime.
Brilliant fucking observation user.
So did he die or not?
Ashita No joe 2 is a better series imo and covers the more interesting parts of the manga in better detail. But fuck some of the grit the OG series had is gone.
wait the OP isn't devilman?
>Yea Forums is this cazzie
Evangelion has hundreds of references to other animes
There are times where you can leave Yea Forums, but it look like Yea Forums won't leave you.
>references
ok, "copied"
my favorite is the third impact being the apocalypse at the end of Ideon: Be Invoked
and he gets away with it
Because Be Invoked is worse
But user dont you understand what the /m/fags are trying to tell you? As long as they can find a superficial plot similarity or a character who "is also depressed" or a similar dialogue line, it means EVA WAS NOT ORIGINAL THEREFORE FUCK ANNO!!!!
They're just better than us because they watched the older anime EVA was influenced by. There's nothing we can do.
The fuck does this have to do with Yea Forums?
pretty much,
Anno is a hack as always.
Nah, the art is similar because of the decade.
This.
Yea Forums here. I don't know what this has to do with us either.
wtf does anj have to do with the maki asakawa debut
It was a good subliminal message.
Anno's a known Dezaki fan so it could go either way.
nowadays genres such as isekai gets all its scenes from ... isekai
watch the movie
The problem with these trashy works isn't that they're isekai, it's that they're trashy derivative works made by talentless hacks and designed to pump cheap dopamine in the consumer's brain by mindlessly shoving spectacle and titillation in their face. This has always happened, in any genre that was popular, it has nothing to do with Isekai. If anything the LN format itself, allowing any random idiot to write shitty dialogues and become famous because the artist they hired draws great tits, is more at fault.
>and covers the more interesting parts of the manga in better detail
AnJ2 had better animation and an ending but I liked the first series more.
Such a kino episode, everything about it was perfect. The music cut off and the moment of silence, the echoes, voice acting, everything was perfect.

Urusei Yatsura did a EoE better than Evangelion.
Wtf, is it just me or is that some kind of abstract painting of Asuka? I swear I can see a bit of her on the upper right corner.
>the club scene afterwards
>The one where he finds out Rikishi is dead
This anime is so fucking sad, holy shit
youtube.com
After Rikiishi's death. Not sure is same episode. That one lady goes crazy bitch mode.
Depends on how you see it, user.
That’s the one after Joe is beaten up and left to get buried in the snow, I think.
This and Carlos being punch-drunk were one of the few times I had to stop and take a break from watching any form of media.
I read the manga, but I can't watch the anime. The first OP fucks me up.
So skip it. It's like a minute long.
Never forget
