This is such a great sequence, because it's basically King telling Saitama he's completely full of shit and that his ennui is entirely self-imposed. The only reason why Saitama's strength is a problem is because he made the decision for himself that the only thing that mattered was "having a good fight". And then King completely demolishes him, not only in video games, but by forcing Saitama to react emotionally (despite insisting his emotions have been deadened).

see, part of me really doesn't want to see murata draw this. another user had hit it on the head in a thread talking about murata's art - he's so consistently high-quality that there are no really outstanding panels in his work. everything always looks amazing.

what makes one's version better for telling the story is the fact that most of it looks like any one of us could've drawn it. (granted, the paneling is superbly done.) then there's these moments, you see a lot of them in garou's arc and when saitama plays with tatsumaki, where the quality suddenly goes up by a level or 2 and you say to yourself "ooooooooooooh shiiiiiiiiiiiiit, things just got INTERESTING" because, in the case, the author masterfully told his story adding in detail at pivotal moments to literally illustrate them as being pivotal moments.

with murata, and don't get me wrong - he's fucking amazing, you don't get that variance in composition. the only time you do is when saitama gets serious or tatsumaki turns into a moeblob. the entire body of the opm manga takes itself seriously at all times because the mangaka takes the series seriously at all times. you could say one intended that as author, but i'd argue he didn't. i'd wager one had little idea that his webcomic would remain so popular even with the manga around, purely because the webcomic is masterfully composed. the manga is beautiful, but the webcomic tells the best version of the story.

so yeah, a part of me isn't looking forward to the upcoming chapters being reinterpreted. another part is excited for the very high quality art though.
