How does the former suggest the latter? It's not so much how they die as what purpose their deaths serve and if they tie in to the themes. Kind of an empty criticism if you ask me; with the point the writer was trying to make by having them die it really doesn't matter which way they went about it.
While it's definitely atonement for Nui, I think with Jukai it's a matter of him already completing his atonement when he gave Hyakki the statue, and from there he really just had no reason to live. We definitely get those sorts of characters in Japanese media occasionally who after completing their life's work or goals don't mind when they go. He was that sort.

The worst part about the episode was how Hyakki's rage subsides so quickly. We've gotten hints in previous episodes about how Tahomaru has a weird aura around him that's different from the others, but we've never seen exactly what was wrong until this episode which makes the reveal pretty shit. Daigo suddenly having a revelation and crying about it also seems rushed especially since he literally just ranted about how he would do it all over again.They should have just made him talk about his regrets at the start of the scene.

But I didn't really like how both Hyakki and Aho had a change of heart after the events of the last episode. They were both raving madmen out for blood, you don't just suddenly chill after what they been through.
Still, I really enjoyed the show. The combination of episodic bits, longer arcs, little comedy here and there, good gore, and a whole bunch of suffering. It kept me coming back for more.

Does Dororo deserve to be top 100? Not with the abysmal treatment it's middle chunk (and some in the first cour) of episodes got.
The story seems to have wrapped up okay, a little devisive, but if unless an anime is at the very least consistent with its visual production, I don't see how it be considered a masterpiece (which is what scores of 10/10 imply).

In these past threads, it has occurred to me that witnessing Aniki without his fake eyes, as beautiful as he may be, feels wrong and unsettling.
It may be because he has only had them for two scenes, but unlike other characters whose eyes are strange, Hyakkimaru puts me at unease when he's not wearing his fake eyes. As if that is not how it should be, as if I'm not suppose to see what I'm seeing.
I believe his face is beautiful, he is a very pretty guy, who makes me question my sexual orientation. His eyes are that of a beautiful girl, and so is the structure of his face. Capturing his beauty on paper doesn't come easy, I bet.
His hair are also very comforting, almost reaching waist level, it appear soft, like those of a pretty young lady.
It all seems wonderful, as long as its hidden away by the demons, which appears as if it's purposely there to seal away that beautiful, mysterious gaze of his.
I still recall of a scene where Hyakkimaru peeked over his shoulder, ever so slightly, to grab Dororo. I couldn't help but freeze myself for a second, and stare at his face, focused on gazing at the world that stood before him. That very face, felt as if it was a blessing, which no mere human like myself was allowed to experience.
In recent threads, there's a lot of Ikemen!Hyakkimaru, which creates a disturbing sensation which goes down my spine every time I see a screencap of him. Is this right? Should I look away? Should I keep watching as if nothing was happening?
How could I possibly pretend that his face didn't give me a feeling of discomfort. That was simply not possible. thread after thread, he is there, as precious and graceful as ever, perhaps even more than usual.
To think that we will never see that face again, makes me feel even more upset. If mere hours after the anime aired have this overwhelming effect on me, what of a full-fledged life? How could anyone, anyone at all, withstand such a thing?
