Saber, one of the strongest classes wielding Excalibur, one of the strongest noble phantasms

>Saber, one of the strongest classes wielding Excalibur, one of the strongest noble phantasms

How do people like Shirou again? At least Kiritsugu didn't let her fight because he doesn't like moralfags.

I mean... that only really happens in the first route. And that's because his first experience with Saber fighting is her getting wrecked by Berserker so...

But the Fate route is shit anyways, so you're forgiven for hating Shirou for thinking like that.

There's this thing called character development. Also, that was only the first Shirou. You would know that if you weren't a shitposting retard.

Wait people actually like shirou as a character? Next youll be telling me people liked his father too

>King Arthur
>the poster boy for chivalry
>wtf I can't let you fight, you're a girl
Ironic

But Saber jobs constantly and would have died the first night to Berserker if Shirou didn't save her.

Saber jobs in every fate media except her own route.

Excluding his total lack of self worth, there are quite a few reasons why shirou was still opposed to letting saber fight- the women thing was kind of just an excuse. Firstly, berserker would have killed her on the first day if not for his intervention. Second, he doesn't know anything about sabers prowess or abilities since he doesn't know anything about the war outside of the small info that rin and kotomine supplied him with and saber didn't tell him anything about herself or skills in fear of him getting his mind read by someone. Third, he didn't even want to pick fights in the first place while saber did - she even ran off to the casters domain and almost died from what i remember.
He did something very similar in UBW with archer, only this time it really cemented his fucked up mental state since he was continually rejecting archer when he tried to save his life every time caster attempted to kill shirou.

Shirou is based and redpilled.

Attached: shirou clock.jpg (1306x647, 515K)

Nigger, don't you fucking remember? The very first night he saw Saber get beaten within an inch of her life by Berserker. That image was burned into his mind for the entire remainder of the route.

I didn't remember the Mitsuzuri quote lmao

Shirou on his crusade against degeneracy should be a bigger thing

Most confusing things in FSN probably feel more acceptable when you realize that Shirou is correct in nearly all cases, unlike the moral degenerates that make up the rest of the cast. When he does let Saber fight, it's was the lesser of two evils in order to stop people from falling victim to the other masters, not because he accepted that he was wrong.

>Kiritsugu didn't let her fight

Attached: 1540615876557.jpg (153x158, 17K)

because SUFFERRING because BADASS, typical angsty edgy teenager interest.

He's naive and thinks he can protect everyone even if it's not possible. Of course he's wrong, he realizes that as the story goes on.

What the hell is degenerate about alarm clocks?

You're asking a question about a guy who has a sword and justice fetish.

I have a fetish for those things too. But I don't think alarm clocks are "degenerate". So what's the joke here?

I don't think anyone really "likes" him. When asked for a favorite character everyone picks a servant or their waifu, nobody really cares about Shirou himself.

But I like Emiya (Choco)

>When asked for a favorite character everyone picks a servant or their waifu, nobody really cares about Shirou himself.
I actually enjoy Shirou. Don't know if I'd call him my favorite character, but he's one of my favorites at least.

Filthy fucking secondaries not understanding that he stops this retarded bullshit pretty early in the VN.

I enjoy his persona and design. His voice actor is great, the memes he has allowed to come about have been memorable. I say he's better than a good chunk of other MCs

Kiritsugu was a good character. Shirou is never good.

>he didn't even want to pick fights in the first place while saber did - she even ran off to the casters domain and almost died from what i remember.
This. People laugh at this antics but to be fair when playing the VN he usually makes the better choice. If he chose to let Saber fight that night they both die. Saber is incredibly skilled but just kinda wants to jump head first into conflict. If it isn't for Shirou being retarded they would both be killed or worse.

I'm trying to say that Emiya Shirou is autistic, so don't take him seriously when it comes to alarm clocks. Remember that comment he said about Tohsaka and the bread?

ugh, zerofags...

Still better then ufotable ubw Shirou

It's just another poorly worded phrase - the English translation is pretty awful.

>...
Get the fuck out, newfag.

:^)

What’s the issue fag?

He is my favourite character
>swords
>archery
>can cook
I would make Shirou my boiwife if he was real

1. Shirou
2. Kotomine
3. Cu

Shirou is already perfect from the start and he only gets better with age.

They're both good characters. I think shirou is especially good since it shows how he would act in different situations he's placed in. We need more of that

Should've read the VN.

>this thread
You niggers are gay for Shirou

Attached: 1560460323898.png (800x645, 203K)

What's wrong with that...?
Also since you posted Kirei - Rasputin in FGO, LB4 is really gay

Attached: IMG_6613.jpg (1400x900, 347K)

He's completely garbage and only retards like him. Fate in general is only good for fapbait.

Attached: 6e0228ba2b1fb290a398324fa8598da7.jpg (1920x1440, 1.23M)

Neither of them is a good character. One of the weakest parts of F/Z was it's characters. Only underage idiots like them because "dude adult males not teenagers, this means they are automatically good".

To this day I can't understand why F/Z was so popular, every single character was shallow as fuck. FSN had far better characters even if Shirou himself was mediocre at best.

You are offloading one of your body's natural functions (waking up on time) to a machine. Some people would view it as weak-willed and lazy. Shirou likely thinks a true man would train himself to always wake up by himself.

One of the few good things about FGO is how hard it shafted Shirou.

>he thinks Nasu won't shove Shirou in the game

It's been years already. He won't. Shirou gets fucked by every other T-M protagonist in popularity polls, only idiots like him.

Is OP that Ekens girl from ANN?

>"wtf I can't let you fight! You're a woman!!"
>this triggers feminists
Shirou is a real hero and a role model for kids. There were many back in the 90s-00s, unlike the modern feminized pussies who'd let some chick half their size fight their battles in a heartbeat.

There is a Shirou in the game though. Shirou didn't get fucked or shafted.

Attached: seht.png (350x450, 177K)

Sakura can do all those too. She's pretty much a female Shirou. She cooks, does archery and is socially awkward.

>he doesn’t know

Shirou isn't socially awkward though? He's a buff handsome dude who hangs out with the student council president AND the most popular guy in his grade AND the outgoing and pretty archer club member. He's secretly admired by two sluts, one of them being the number one school beauty and older than him.
So, please, stop projecting your wishes on based Shirou.

Saber is such a jobber to the point of proving him right though

Attached: 1539059411873.jpg (945x957, 71K)

This, Shirou isn't a neet self-insert, he lifts, hangs out with popular friends, does hard manual work and make bitches wet. He's Chad incarnate.

>ugh
Fucking die

Shirou IS socially awkward though, it's just that his views are based, so even when he spergs out, people think he's cool.

How the fuck is she a jobber when Gil exist?
She beats Gil's strongest weapon in the Fate route.

To be honest, Nasu always fucks over Saber for the sake of pacing. In FSN she's underpowered and can't use her NP much, in F/Z she immediately gets cursed by Diarmuid so she can't Excaliblast, also F/Z made her into an insufferable honorfag for some reason.

She doesn't. Shirou does. Avalon and all that shit.

It’s called Urobuchi is a bad writer

Shirou is a straight retard MC. A neutered, shounen style Shiki who is so bland his only redeeming factor is the unironic comedy from his VA (who I found out is also Sasuke lel) trying so hard to be serious

F/Z is a fucking fan fiction, don't blame Nasu for Urobuchi being a talentless piece of shit.

Please don't make a Muramasa vs Rasputin battle in FGO

It's a little hard to imagine that she was such an effective king when she's like this, but then I remembered that the difference between her as a king and her as a Servant is that as a king, she's responsible for a great number of people. As a Servant, ideally, she's the only one in danger.

Shirou sometimes shows similar qualities. He's less likely to blindly risk his life the higher the stakes, because getting slaughtered on the first move won't allow him to accomplish anything. If he can save one person by sacrificing his life, he'll do so, but if he has to save a hundred lives, he starts thinking more rationally because he fundamentally understands that sacrificing his one life likely won't accomplish that. You can use your body as a shield for one person, but not for a large group.

because he undergoes character development in the other two roots

UBW chant is cool, though.

I love him actually, and he only gets better with age.

>jobs

She was nerfed as fuck in FSN and F/Z is a piece of shit.

Which Fate media is worth a watch/read?

Shirou's character is literally the best part of the entire series.

>He fell for the saber is good meme

>目覚まし時計はなんとなく堕落している気がするので子供の頃から使っていない。
Worded slightly differently but he's saying the exact same thing.

>As a Servant, ideally, she's the only one in danger.
Yes and Shirou constantly strives to nearly fuck this up for her all the time. She doesn't like this quality of him and thinks it's useless and foolish at first. Shirou doesn't care. He picks up early on to her reason to do what she does: sacrificing herself for the sake of the people. Because that's what she thinks a king should do, much like Shirou thinks that is what a hero should do. She objectifies herself as a "sword" to Shirou who refuses to partake in this because he is concerned for her well being and instead treats her like a companion. Fuck they are so cute together. Just two self-destructive pathological altruists trying to make the other one happier than themselves. Which of them can be the most self-sacrificing is what their relationship feels like that.

Fuck I could type about this shit forever I'm so high.

Attached: f7105942b36fc18e502afbd40238331c.png (850x1150, 1M)

Pretty much all of it has some sort of merit or enjoyment to be had. If you are curious ask, lots of us have recommended fate newbs where to start in the series. We bicker about it but it'll give you an idea.

Prisma before 3rei and Case Files. Everything else sucks. I guess FGO works as fapbait too.

vn and zero

this

watch Fate Zero and stop there

Attached: 1505739656633.jpg (1280x720, 399K)

Sure, because servant Emiya is there from the get go and appears in shitton of events.

Ignore Zerofags, first read the FSN VN, then read F/HA VN, then watch Zero.

I think Nasu has some plans with Shirou. He's used Rin and Sakura pretty extensively, and given that even Luvia's a Servant now, it'd make sense to make Shirou available sooner or later. In fact, if you look at past interviews, you'll find that he's had plans to link Muramasa to Shirou since at least back when UBW was airing.

Zero can be watched before reading F/HA. It's barely canon.

To be fair, Saber lost to his japanese teacher.

He was buffed you faggot. He also got the jump on her.

There is no doubt that there will be Muramasa gacha, only question is when.

They wake you up.
Alarm clocks are absolutely degenerate and should all be destroyed.
The age of morningfags is over.

Behold, the legendary king of Britain!

Attached: saber job.jpg (1024x576, 37K)

Japanese teacher who turns out to be a killer from a secret assassin society and buffed by the strongest magician in ancient Greece, assumed to be harmless and a victim by his opponents.

Looks like he's saving it for something. I guess you can't really do a Shirou gacha without some heavy preparations. I mean, you'd need to update the My Room lines for, at minimum, over half a dozen characters.

To be fair, anyryone in fate can lose to anyone under correct conditions. Well, at least as long as your opponent is not Herc and you have something above B rank to kill him.

>Saber
>Always loses
>Best class

You're a fucking idiot if you seriously think this.

Love how this always gets damage control (You)s from saberfags

It's just fact nigger. The Saber class has had the most amount of HGW wins throughout the whole franchise. Nothing to do with the waifubait

They don’t want to admit she’s jobbed to literally every other class.

Everyone loses a shitload of times. Saber just has more appearances, but it's not like other characters make it out better. Rider loses every fight in the first two routes and only gets to show off in Heaven's Feel. Lancer doesn't even get to show off at all thanks to Kotomine. Archer doesn't really get any solid victories. Caster meets a tragic end every time.

If you actually look at each Servant's win/loss ratio overall, Saber's pretty much in the lead.

>Saber is the only saber class servant

>Win the HGW in two routes. Becomes an absolutely broken servant in the third one.
>Dominates against Cu and even manage to tank his NP.
>Beat Medusa in Fate, and absolutely destroy her in HF.
>Destroys Emiya, two times.
>Outskill Kojirou and beat him without even using Excalibur.
>Prevent Hassan from taking her heart despite being trapped by the grail, meanwhile Cu got Zabaniya'd.
>The only servants who can beat her are Herc (who would beat anyone, except Gil) and Gilgamesh (who not only got demolished by Saber, but even by Shirou).
Sure buddy.

To be fair King of Heroes lost to a japanese teenager.

Attached: 2 a.gif (480x270, 1.14M)

Attached: HGW winners.png (562x3685, 1.48M)

To be fair this dork is My King and I will always love her.

Attached: e340dc10b149b76aa911d84517c5b86b.jpg (1620x1371, 553K)

Saber has the overall highest parameters among the classes as well as the highest number of wins in grail wars.
For mages, those statistics are very important, and the saber class ended up being considered the strongest class despite every class having servants that can body the average saber class servant, and even weak servants from other classes being able to defeat a strong saber given the right circumstances.
Saber herself is hard carried by external forces in the form of a dick wizard and a sword created by the Earth itself as a defense mechanism against alien invasion, so it's no surprise that the ridiculous servants summoned for the 5th war would be able to gain the upper hand against her at some points.

How is Gil the winner of Zero's war when the grail itself declared Kiritugu the winner? Did I just bite bait?

Berserker is considered trash class with purpose of boosting power of weak heroes, yet look at Herc who's strongest even without class skill.

This is sort of wrong. Strictly speaking, the winner of the 4th Grail War was Kiritsugu, so technically Saber was the winner. Since Gilgamesh's Master was dead at the time, he was a stray Servant. A stray Servant who has no Master can't be the victor of a Grail War. It's impossible. On the other hand, it's possible for a Master without a Servant to win the war, though he wouldn't be able to use the Grail.

He's winner by technicality since he was last servant standing. Same as Rider being considered winner in HF even though Kotomine declared Shirou winner and she isn't his servant.

That's not how it works. You can say that a Servant won the battle, but if they don't earn the right to the Grail then they haven't won the Grail War. The Holy Grail War is, first and foremost, a battle royale with the Grail at stake. If a Master who doesn't have a Servant wins the Grail War, then no Servant wins.

On that note, in UBW, Rin (by proxy) defeated one Servant, Assassin. Shirou defeated one Servant, Gilgamesh. Since the Grail calculates winners based on numbers, Shirou was probably the winner in UBW as well, since Gilgamesh is more powerful than Assassin. Of course, by then, the Greater Grail had already manifested and the mediator was dead, so it's all meaningless.

Berserker IS a trash class. Yes, you do get a huge boost in power, but the servant becomes retarded and unable to communicate (which makes planning anything pretty difficult) and requires a ridiculous amount of mana. It works for the Einzbern because Ilya is a vessel for the Grail on top of being a homunculus, which means that she has the mana and the command seals required to handle such a beast. Any other master, even a competent magus, would have a hard time getting anything done with a Berserker. It's one of the things Zero manages to get right.

Well, only exceptional/unusual individuals typically get saddled with the Berserker class and end up okay. In F/SN, it was Ilya, who had reserves to spare. In EXTRA, it was Rani who was herself a homunculus, and what's-his-face, who wasn't even even giving Arcueid any magical energy in the first place since she's not an actual Servant who requires it. In Fate/Grand Order, the protagonist is merely a conduit; they're a little like Sakura in a way, in that they're connected to an extraordinary large reserve of energy which they in turn feed to the Servants.

>Kiritsugu didn't let her fight
When was that, faggot?
>because he doesn't like moralfags
How is it any less retarded?

You're correct about mana drain being massive issue with berserkers. But Herc is top tier hero who requires much more mana to sustain compared to your average berserker. Kariya probably would've exploded from mana drain in first day if he summoned Herc.

>In Fate/Grand Order, the protagonist is merely a conduit; they're a little like Sakura in a way, in that they're connected to an extraordinary large reserve of energy which they in turn feed to the Servants.
Not only that, but the Berserker class in FGO is an absolute joke. Most of the Berserker is actually sane but with a quirk. Even "I want to amputate everyone" Nightingale never actually mutilate anyone and is reasonable enough to snap out of her madness when asked to.

Shirou is redpilled enough to know bitches need to Fate/Stay in the Kitchen

Guda has an EX rank charm and nearby servants are slowly mind broken until they're docile and obedient.

More like Harem Protag EX

Shirou has that skill as well given how many lust for his dick.

They just appreciate his high jumping skills.

Saber never saw him do the high jump and yet he became the only person to ever lay her.

Broskandar is better than half the number of servants in FSN. His death is kino
Kirei, Gil, well they appear in both F/Z and FSN so I guess you dont count characters appear in both
People love Kiritsugu because he's an edgy old man with question about morality and honestly his flashback is the best part in F/Z. In terms of MC he is better than Shiro.
Saber sucks hard in FSN. If you prefer her as moe cute love interest then good for you

that has more to do with how many servants in f/go are canonically scraping the bottom of the barrel due to extenuating circumstances. nearly every historical figure born after the middle ages in f/go are not true heroic spirits. Marie Antoinette and Mozart talk about it in the France arc, and its backed up by the universal law that the older a servant's myth is the stronger they are. so it makes sense that the class template they're squeazed into has less impact.

That's because of the ranks and affinity. A Madness Enhancement rank of E- isn't really gonna do much. Also, non-humans like oni seem to react differently to it, so even if they have a ME rank of A, it probably doesn't affect them as much. The type of madness also seems to differ between Servants. For instance, Caligula has a rank of A+, and while he's prone to screaming like a banshee, it's possible for him to speak human words. It's just that those human words are honestly pretty meaningless, so he's closer to a schizophrenic, someone who can only prattle mindlessly without being able to recognize conversations.

EX is a special modifier. It doesn't mean that it's "the most powerful", but rather it doesn't fall under the usual standards. It's too unusual so it can't be compared to the normal E-A ranking system.

Also, and this is the biggest issue: A character who can only scream mindlessly is boring. No one's gonna care about a character who can't speak coherently. The only ones who can get away with that are Herakles and Lancelot. Why do you think no one gives two shits about Lu Bu, Darius or Bloodaxe? Personality is absolutely vital.

Except Raikou and Kiyohime are actually from the middle ages and yet are perfectly reasonable Berserkers save for a single irrelevant quirk. There are also servants from the XIXth century like Okita Souji who are stronger than servants from the antiquity like Leonidas.
FGO doesn't really make any sense, it's very much "anything goes".

Okita isn't actually that strong. Leonidas should actually be superior to her. Putting aside her low health, even if she possesses a technique that transcends the laws of physics, she's at best #5 on the Japanese swordsman tier list in Fate.

B E R S E R C A R

>rarity=strength
user shit on FGO all you want but surely you're not dumb to think someone like Osakabehime can defeat Karna

Attached: 1560147551021.png (851x636, 181K)

Karna seems to like those types, so he might actually lose to her in a different sense.

The F/GO summoning system is special in that it saps the strength of male servants and feeds it to the cardboard waifus that are being shit out constantly, so yes, waifus can beat Karna.

Don't be silly. F/GO is pretty unique in that there's plenty of male Servants who've amassed a significant degree of popularity.

>No one's gonna care about a character who can't speak coherently.
And yet, as you said, people actually care about Heracles. Also you can simply not make them as Berserkers if you want them to be able to talk normally.
>EX is a special modifier. It doesn't mean that it's "the most powerful", but rather it doesn't fall under the usual standards. It's too unusual so it can't be compared to the normal E-A ranking system.
I know that, but it's really cheap imo. You don't want to have to deal with the issue Berserker poses as characters. So rather than try to consider it as a special class limited to a handful of servants (like Ruler), which would be justified considering how they play, you give them all Madness Enhancement equal or below D or EX so you can have them be sane AND broken at the same time or completely nullify what makes the Berserker class unique in the first place (woah Chacha doesn't get any bonus but get to stay sane ! So exciting !). And even then it still doesn't make sense since Asterios as the same level of Madness Enhancement as Heracles but his far saner than him, Lancelot is as mad as Tamamo Cat but Tamamo Cat can have normal conversations. Hijikata Toshizo is almost as mad as Lancelot but act pretty much like a normal person, only more hot-headed.

They are popular, yes, but that isn't enough for them to match up to the power of waifus. Cu and Brock, probably the two greatest warriors in Ireland are only 3 stars while the queen slut is 5 stars servant which she obviously doesn't deserve. Waifus are a cancer that have to be eliminated for the sake of male servants everywhere.

If nip teenager can defeat Gil anyone can defeat anyone.

Gil is just weak its not hard to beat him even you could do it

Lots of anime suffer from this. A girl will be a super powered, super competent fighter but the MC will be all "you shouldn't have to fight cause you're a girl".
Japan just can't get over its obsession with gender roles, even if it makes no sense in the context of the characters or setting.

>Lots of anime suffer from this

I literally can't think of a single one.

That's how it works even inside the story though. As far as I remember, the only moment a 3* Servant beat a 5* Servant is in Camelot, and that's only thanks to unique circumstances. So yes, while Rarity shouldn't indicate strength, in FGO it effectively does just that.
Being #5 is actually quite the achievement considering the absolute beasts that are on that list.

Speaking of FGO male servant's popularity, for some reason nips really really really love those 3* male servants a lot. Salieri, Izou (especially this) and now we got Asclepius.

Herakles is an exception. The thing with Herakles was that he got to show off his cool side a whole bunch of times in the original Fate/stay night, and his relationship with Ilya really hit the mark for a lot of people. But what does Caligula? A shitty minor role in one of the worst Singularities. What does Lu Bu have? A boring, minor role as a one-off boss in Fate/EXTRA. Rani barely interacted with Lu Bu, so it's hard to get attached to him. He gets a larger role in Fate/EXTELLA, but by then the damage was done.

As I said, only Herakles can get away with being a mindless beast now. If you tried that with any other Servant, especially in F/GO, they wouldn't amass much popularity at all. Maybe if you had an entire event where the main Servant was such a character, with lots of cool and heartwarming scenes, then sure, it could work. But you'd only be able to do that once. Anymore than that and it would overstay its welcome, since you'd be using not one, but two or even three events on a character that can't even speak.

A mindless, screaming beast only works if you have a large enough opportunity to flesh them out through a proper story. If you just throw a Servant like that into the gacha, no one's gonna roll for them, unless they're a really cute girl or something. Even then, they'd be overshadowed by the waifus with actual personalities.

The recent event was built with the female fanbase in mind, and Asclepius especially has an attractive design. And if he's that popular, I'd imagine he got a nice, meaty role in the recent Lostbelt too, causing everyone to love him.

That's why I said that they could just treat the Berserker class like the Ruler/Avenger classes. Just put Beowulf, Raikou, and Chacha as Saber, it wouldn't change anything to the story and make much more sense. Put Kiyohime and Penthesilea as Avengers (though Penthesilea could probably work as a regular Berserker). Put Hijikata and Nightingale as Archers (or you could even put Night as a Ruler, so she could be a top tier healer). Then you can make some of the crazy Berserker stronger by making Heracles a 5* (like he deserve to be), or Darius a 4*.
There are lots of things you can do to make it work rather than simply raping the canon.

Berserker isn't a special class. In fact, most Berserkers are actually pretty weak, since it's a class originally designed to enhance weaker Servants.

Also, the only one saying it "rapes canon" is you. No one ever said that Berserkers are purely limited to being mindless beasts. And it's natural to conclude that a Servant with an E-rank in Madness Enhancement wouldn't be that far gone.

>"wtf I can't let you fight! You're a woman!!"
What the fuck for retarded interpretation is this? It wasn't because she was a girl, it was because Shirou simply detested the idea of someone else fighting his battles for him and getting hurt in the progress. Very quickly on in that route, he got his ass kicked by Rider and accepted the fact to fight "alongside" saber.

It's not even that. It's just that every time Saber fights, Shirou gets PTSD flashbacks to when she was beaten within an inch of her life by Berserker. "You're a girl and girls shouldn't fight" is simply the lowest hanging fruit. It's an easy excuse for him to understand. Since the aforementioned scene doesn't happen in UBW, he never gets that way.

>No one ever said that Berserkers are purely limited to being mindless beasts.
Hum, actually Nasu does, in FSN. The VN does state that Berserkers trade sanity for power and the only Berserkers we see in the "main" entries (FSN and F/Z) are both batshit insane.
Also, an E-Rank Madness Enhancement makes no sense. As you said, the point of the class is to enhance the servant. You gain nothing by having an E-Rank Madness Enhancement Berserker, in fact, you even lose a lot since they don't have any other class skills while the other classes do. And Madness Enhancement D should make a servant quite insane already since Lancelot (C) is almost incapable of speaking. Even E-Rank should have SOME effect rather than no effect like it does in FGO.

Wonder why he doesn't say that at all in UBW. Oh yeah, because she wasn't beaten to a pulp by Berserker there.

Dude, you don't get to choose the rank of the skill. No one gets to decide how high the rank of Madness Enhancement is. It's simply a direct result of what kind of life the Servant led. Furthermore, the only ones who'd get to decide whether a Servant's a Berserker or not are the Einzberns, since they know how to cheat the system. If anyone else got a Berserker with E-rank ME, then tough shit, that's just that hand they were dealt.

Also, the idea seems to be that the amount of sanity lost is more or less directly proportionate to how much your stats get boosted. Beowulf has an E- rank in Madness Enhancement, so he loses extremely little sanity but at the same time gains almost no real boosts. But Beowulf can only be summoned under the Berserker class as he's the origin of the word "berserker" to begin with.

>h yeah, because she wasn't beaten to a pulp by Berserker there.
Yes and no, Shirou in UBW told Saber right away that he'd fight alongside her as partners. Nasu just skipped that part of his character in UBW since it was already handled in Fate. I just enjoy how secondaries like OP, use retarded bait like that to downplay Shirou.

>that Line 181

Fucking kek.

>But the Fate route is shit anyways, so you're forgiven for hating Shirou for thinking like that.
(you)

I played the FSN VN as a teen and Saber killed me at the end of the first route because I apparently hadn't loved her enough.

Illya popped up and told me I had to have been playing in a really strange way to get that ending, because obviously Saber was so cute that everyone would want to protect her and only her at every turn.

Then I had to go back several hours' worth of gameplay and correct my error of being more worried for the damn human mage who was out of mana than the literal superpowered female version of King Arthur, and also a few other decisions that I had to find somewhere between detailed descriptions of Saber eating supper.

Was I justified in quitting? It's been at least 10 years, and recent releases have made me slightly consider going back and finishing all three routes.

>Uro: Unlike Fate/Zero, where all the main characters are older, this one has lots of cute heroines! Fate/stay night was originally conceptualized as a bishojo game, so the very individual theme of "romance" was placed at the core. It had to be written from Shirou's point of view. So then I thought, I have this really powerful core idea of all these Eiyuu (heroic spirits) engaged in a Battle Royale, so why not draw their story from multiple point of views? That's why I tried to work more main characters into Fate/Zero other than simply Kiritsugu and Kirei.

>Nasu: I had no other choice but to make Fate/stay night the way I did for that bishojo game format. That was one of the reasons why I once said to Urobuchi, "I don't think I can make bishojo games anymore." The more you pour both what the author wants to draw and romance elements that will excite the users into a work, the more distant they get from each other... that was my dilemma. I think Fate/stay night does lack that "battle royale" atmosphere, but I really wanted to make it a work that would make the users want to get to know Saber and Rin better, or cuddle with Sakura.

F/SN is just an unironic waifu simulator, so Ilya was right when she told you that you played in a strange way.

>trips
well said

The only way you could have failed the love check for Saber is if you paid too much attention to other girls.

>because I apparently hadn't loved her enough
It's the other way around. And first route is generally agreed to be the most boring one.

I hate break gauges.

what happens in the fate route im an animeonly and i heard that the original deen adaption was all over the place

>Saber
>incredibly skilled
>loses
>LITERALLY
>every fight she's in until she gets a power up
she even got dunked on by a teacher

Haha, yeah, because the other Servants fare much better, right?

Git gud

Thanks anons. I'll probably end up watching a Let's Play if I can find one with a tolerable player.

I honestly have no idea how to feel or what to think about Fate. It's convoluted, infodumpy, and contains everything I hate about Japanese writing--yet the concept, music, (some) characters, and parts of the execution are so damn cool that I want to be into it.

If saber didn't have plot armor hacks, yes. they definitely do.

Playdohbrained take my lad

>every fight she's in until she gets a power up
She beats Rider in Fate though. Also, she's doesn't get a power-up, she gets slightly denerfed.

The F/SN and F/HA visual novels, and Zero. Nothing else.

He gets frazzled that girls are hanging out with him and sharing his lunch so he goes to hang with Issei. Literal adorkable MC who tries to act like a tough guy in social situations. In fact, there was a scene in Hollow where Sakura turned him into a stammering puddle just by turning the charm on a bit and feeding him some crepes, then had her junior take a couple photo of them. If anything, Sakura is a boss in the making, she just needed to be free to spread her wings.

Why are Command Spells made to be such a huge fucking deal in Zero?

Shirou fucks saber while rin is watching

Because they're what keeps your servant in check if they happen to be on the more independent side. The fewer seals you have, the more freedom the servant gets iirc.

I still don't quite get it. What are the chances you get a servant crazy enough to try and kill its own Master, 1/7?

If there is one thing that the fate series has done right, it is Kiritsugu's character.
fsnfags should stop over glorifying this generic eroge mc

It’s not just about a servant killing their master, without command seals you basically relinquish your rights as a master and a servant’s decision to follow you is now entirely their own. There’s also how the path to the Root requires all servants to die meaning you must have a command seal ready to have them kill themselves, and command seals are just super useful in general since they are absolute and allow your Servants to go way past their usual limits i.e. commanding Saber to Excaliblast 3x in a row

ITT: zerobabbies coping that their edgy manchild can't hold a candle to the chad Shirou

Attached: smug shiro.png (374x392, 143K)

>Only the 12th best member of The Knights of the Round Table
Saber had the heart and blood of a dragon, which means she had superhuman magic circuits modern magus could only dream of and produced a crazy amount of magical energy, constantly.
Not only that, but she had Ronghominyad and Excalibur, two broken weapons, AND Avalon which made her immortal.

Essentially, in her prime Artoria Pendragon was an unkillable murder machine fueled by infinite draconic energy, manabursting her way all over the battlefield and distributing Excaliblasts like candies. Burning Saxon scum in a sea of burning draconic rage.
Artoria was so broken it's a wonder Mordred even managed to stab her at all.

The thing is that if you lose all your command seals then your contract with your Servant is broken. So you essentially lose all control and the Servant is free to contract with a more sensible Master. You've pretty much lost the HGW at that point.
Another important thing is that Command Seals can power up a Servant, if you have your Servant use their NP and power it up with a Command Seal, it'll be even more broken.
Hollow Ataraxia straight up have a scene where Shirou burn several Command Seals so that Saber could make a 3km "jump" in one second to the roof of a building and chop Emiya in two.
Also keeping your Servant in check is about more than not being killed, it's also about getting him to do what you want him to do. A good example is right at the start of FSN when Shirou use a Command Seal to save Rin from being killed by Saber.

Tbh I wake up naturally at the first light, only when I'm really exhausted, like only slept a few hours, that I don't get up, but then even the alarm wont wake me.

This is bait.

Wtf I love Shirou now

this

This desu. Liking Kerry but hating Shirou? Kek you fucking hypocrites.

He only does that in the fate route because he is in love with Saber.

This post is sickening.

the fuck is this thread

>"I don't think I can make bishojo games anymore."

>makes fucking FGO

Nasu is such a fucking monkey holy shit. How can he even say this when 90% of the stuff he did after FSN success is pure waifubait pandering?

Because she may be a powerful fighter and a king reincarnation, but she is still a girl, so sometimes she wants to be pampered.

Ironically Saber falls in love with Shirou because he treats her like a woman, something she always wanted to experience but never realized until Shirou got aggressive about it. Having a man she could depend on like a female can made her happy.

I don't even think she secretly wanted to be treated like a girl until after they fucked. God damn Shirou must be fucking hung.

What the fuck was Shinji's problem in the end anyways?
And how'd he roll such a perfect mommy servant?

>And how'd he roll such a perfect mommy servant?
That's because he wasn't the one rolling.

Based turbo tetriary

Unless you are talking about Extra, you are indeed a faggot

I'm halfway though saber route so there must be something I'm missing I guess I should leave now

So how bad are the FGO anime going to be and how hard will they fuck up Fatefags on Yea Forums?

Because I started playing that thing and Jesus fuck writing is some kind of a joke.

Attached: 8e8567eb16ec2fe18afc1cacf1fe14ff.png (2000x2000, 2.12M)

1. The people that are obsessed with it (Tokiomi and Fastwheels) are portrayed as idiots who can't see the forest for the trees (using CS on Gil is a death sentence and Diarmuid is already a completely loyal dog)
2. The tattoo on their hands looks cool on marketing promos

To be fair, singularities that anime will be adapting are much better than trash that were first ones.

But Babylonia is way better than UBW, which Yea Forums acknowledges as the AOTD.

Attached: 1539851339781.jpg (1604x2144, 1.82M)

Ah, the classic "it gets better later".

I'm sure some nip teenager getting send to ancient Babylonia to get a dozen servants all over his dick is gonna be great.

>Yea Forums acknowledges as the AOTD

You forgot your meds dude.

I didn't they they are great, only that they are better than complete trash before them.

Sabers a loser

Summon Indian hero instead

I fucking despise characters like Shirou and the faggot from the To Aru series.

Bro, everyone tells you that the writing is shit until arc five or six, when it suddenly becomes as good as anything else TM has written that's good. When nasu realizes that he can just write fgo like a VN, and he doesn't have to write it like a mobage

If you're saying you just started today and the writing isn't good, then no fucking shit.

Shirou is the Goldman

user listen, it may have routes but F/SN is very much a linear story. You're supposed to experience it in the order of Fate - UBW - Heaven's Feel, in fact each route is locked until you finish the one before it. There's gonna be a lot of shit you don't know about the war by the end of the Saber route, you'll find that out in the other two routes.

Enjoy, and remember to play Fate/Hollow Ataraxia afterwards.

Also one reason the writing increased a fuck lot is because fans told nasu that the writing early on sucked. Nasu calls fgo something like a road that has a lot of weeds on it and hadn't been used in ages, but if you have the patience to see it through as he slowly fixes it up, it'll shine.

Everyone says Camelot and Babylon have a plot as good as other type moon stories . Camelot had a pretty simple but effective character story where guda is not the real main character. But you don't know who the real main character is until almost the end

I know the order is saber ->tohsaka ->sakura there's still much more to read
What is Ataraxia? Never heard of it

The Majora's Mask to FSN's Ocarina of Time.

Oh yeah a ton if you're only halfway through the Saber route. Remember to make a new save at every new choice and don't be afraid of bad ends, a lot of them are pretty neat. Hollow Ataraxia is the sequel, and it's really bloody good.

Okay will do, is it the same characters and length?

Gil is kinda one note no matter where he is, but Kirei is an immensely better character in FSN than FZ, which is absolutely worth pointing out.

Same characters with a one or two new ones added, I'd say it's around the same length but it's not a branching VN like F/SN, it's presented differently. You'll get the hang of it real quick and you don't need a guide like you might for F/SN.

A guide? I usually just savescum when I get any choice and "follow through" if it doesn't kill me.

Godspeed then.

There're few delayed deaths which can happen if you made wrong choices during the route, but there're only few of them.

Name 1 servant that can defeat him

>F/Z is a fucking fan fiction

It's miles above anything the hack Nasu has put out in what, a decade?

He was under the influence of grail mud.

Shirou fucks Saber while Rin is helping.

Why was Rin watching

Shiro is neutron star tier dense and Rin had to fuck her to get both her and him horny enough to transfer mana. Cum has spirit energy, c'mon user this is first grade shit

listenonrepeat.com/watch/?v=93gjja0IcjE#Fate/Stay_Night_Part_80:_The_Ritual
Watch the video if you want the full answer.

This is the doujinshi meme answer, it's not even close to the real answer though

Shirou wasn't being dense by not wanting to fuck in a life and death situation where they were currently running from an angry demo god. Rin said she was half just doing it for herself wince she didn't know she swung what way, and couldn't help tasting saber first

Rin is straight.

Realta Nua Rin may be, FSN Rin isn't.

Anyone would go straight for Saber's pussy.

>Fate route is shit
That's where you're wrong, kiddo.

Attached: Saber Shirou Material.jpg (733x1044, 252K)

>Primsa shit
Shoo shoo.

kys dumb secondary

Reminder that Fate is trash

Rin clearly is given she's never had a canonical same sex relationship in any Fate media

Straight up bisexual.

Is there a VN with a more consummate ending than FSN RN? I have never felt so "complete" after a visual novel, before.

Attached: fate-saber.jpg (820x662, 79K)

zerofags your edgy manchild is a shit character. Go read some revenge Isekai to find your type of MC

Shit dude is this your first VN?

Attached: 1538875898791.png (300x297, 7K)

Not even Euphoria's ending felt this fulfilling.

he was right though
women cant fight

>So you essentially lose all control and the Servant is free to contract with a more sensible Master. You've pretty much lost the HGW at that point.
Is there anything preventing a Servant from making a new contract with the same Master?

False

Based. I loved it too.

Master needs to have some command spells left to make a new contract, they won't just appear again.

Yes, Shirou is awesome. He is one of the most unique protagonist ever. Just name one guy that is like Shirou. You have probably never met a guy that is like Emiya irl. He is just the best.

How many layers of irony are you on?

Shirou is one of greatest pleb filter of all time

>he doesn't know

Attached: D9tlajVW4AEhQWN.png (240x147, 56K)

...what don't I know?
I fail to see why he gets shat on a lot, the character wouldn't be the same if he wasn't as autistic as he is

I'm not joking. I'm completely serious. I love Emiya Shirou.

Everything but the original and Zero. The setting is interesting enough on its own and the further you are from the seigi no mikata Emiya retardition, so it doesn't brainwash you into thinking severe autism makes for a good story, the better.

just because rider had to keep his NP for the figth with Gil since he knew how much stronger than everyone he actually he is, if he used it Saber literally wouldve gotten raped in Ionia Hetairoi

But what made Fate Fate was the seigi no mikata bullshit.

I know it's long as hell, but the VN is the definitive experience. After that, read Hollow Ataraxia. If you're finished with those two, maybe start Zero it's pretty bland compared to SN imo, characters are good, OR read Tsukihime and after that, watch Carnival Phantasma, which is great.

Undesignated shitting street

Other user was talking about Medusa, not Broskander.

>Shirou is never good.
That's where you're wrong, HF Superhero ending Shirou is best Shirou.

Why are the albinos so lewd?

I'll give you a hint, the person who actually summoned her has a huge maternal instinct ranking. Good luck in your playthrough, sir.

>perfect mommy servant?
...
Mordred
Your rebuttal?

I'm a little rusty, but wouldn't Mordred have dragon blood as well? Since Morgan le Fay "extracted" Arturia's seed, wouldn't Mordred inherit some of those OP stats?

How do you people still not understand such a simple concept? I would just blame secondaries, but even some people who read the VN are too retarded to understand it. Most of Fate was Shirou having to come to terms with what happened with the fire, and and how it shaped his personality to want to never see anyone else ever get hurt, even at the cost of his well-being/life. Saying Saber shouldn't fight because she was a girl was just his pretext for not wanting someone else to get hurt on his behalf.

Sound strategy when you're suffering from a dearth of troops and can't post a battalion at every village in the nation.

She relocated the civilians, she never went full warmonger and just raided her own villages, that's fucking retarded.
