Is she the biggest mary sue in anime?

Is she the biggest mary sue in anime?
I like her but I think she fits the bill to a tee.

The fuck? How the hell a character that ultimately fails to maintain her glory at the end a mary sue? Oscar just manages to make people recognize that a woman like her could be a warrior and not much else, but the clusterfuck that was the French Revolution still destroyed everything.

She dies at the end so no.

No, she was a tryhard that made many mistakes.

The literal Mary Sue literally dies at the end of her fanfic. It's part of the cliche since the beginning.

Robespierre should've considered himself lucky that Oscar caught tuberculosis

>never ever loses a fight
>gets out of every dangerous situation scot free by virtue of sheer plot armor. only exception is when she eventually gets her heroic death
>literally everyone likes her and wants to fuck her. men, women, children, everyone
>is written into all the most important historical events always playing a pivotal role in a way that seems almost fanfictiony
Really the only argument that can be brought up against my statement is that she doesn't get the guy in the end.

>only exception is when she eventually gets her heroic death
Will go on to be a nobody, the revolution paints plainly that Oscar's feats aren't seen as worth by the peasants that started the revolution.

>is written into all the most important historical events always playing a pivotal role in a way that seems almost fanfictiony
She knows and talks to real historic figures, she did not impact their fates to the point it can be called "pivotal".

>literally everyone likes her and wants to fuck her
Oh, user

The RoV remake is just LoGH.

I don't get you people who want remakes of great anime classics knowing the state of current animation.

why would you want a remake? it's good as it is. what, you want another sailor moon crystal or something?

Who cares if shes a Mary Sue. Shes a great character. Complaining about characters being Gary stus is really stupid

Why did you spoil the series that hard bro at least out some spoiler tag, now I won't watch it

He's a troll, don't trust him. Keep watching.

It's the French Insurrection, so they all died anyway because it's like 500 years ago.

it doesn't need a remake retard Osamu dezaki is dead and the anime would be nothing without him

I'm not complaining. I even said I liked her. I'm just trying to start a conversation.

not really since she has serious internal conflict about herself as a woman, she is imperfect

who the fuck calls it an insurrection

The only reason I even want a remake is so the series gets more recognition, leading to people watching the original anime and eventually the manga getting picked up by a company like seven seas for a translation. Similar to how devilman crybaby despite being pretty shitty, led to people actually looking into other adaptations and eventually the source material.

Mary Sues are supposed to die tragically. Look up how this trope started, pleb.

That's the part of that post you have trouble with? How embarrassing for you.

This thread is about why she's a Mary Sue. You should know that major plot points are going to be discussed here retard. Hence no spoiler tag.

no seriously what sorta shithole you crawled out of

>so the series gets more recognition
who gives a shit. let it stay obscure. I don't want her to be picked up as a feminist rolemodel or something or even worse get criticized as such because she's heterosexual. it's too fucking tieresome.

>Similar to how devilman crybaby despite being pretty shitty, led to people actually looking into other adaptations and eventually the source material.
except that didn't happen

>except that didn't happen
The original Devilman manga got licensed in english 40 fucking years after its original publication exactly because the Crybaby anime sparked interest from the west.

her betrayal of the crown gave a major oomph to the revolution and she lead the assault to the bastille

speaking of licensed manga, fucking WHERE is that RoV release already?

She's a very idealised character.
A perfect man or woman who is impossible to find in real life.
But I don't consider her a mary sue she still has her own struggles and obstacles throughout the story.

Everyone has their own interpretations of what a mary-sue is but I what I consider a mary-sue is when a character is too perfect to the point where the character has no real conflict.
Oscar still has plenty of character conflict because it's not a 70's any without melodrama.
Love triangle drama, having to choose between the people of France or stay loyal to the king, living as a man but still being a woman.

It's a power fantasy for loser creeper bitches. That's all.

>because it's like 500 years ago.
Yep, precisely the level of education I'd expect from someone who considers this show anything but a steaming pile of shit.

That's the part of that post you have trouble with? How embarrassing for you.

That never works that way user, people that need a remake to watch a series won't watch the original because "it's old" and they "already saw the remake"
