I posted that video. I was doing some research on the devs to see if there was any connection between them and Bamco (there is none and they're instead part of a collective of VR devs in Japan), and I found that video.

Odds are he contacted or knew someone at Trigger and mentioned his company and broom demo, then after convincing them that they could "easily" make it into a game, the committee gave them the blessing to create a kickstarter. Their motivations for this could be to see if there's actually a market for LWA, and they would be short-sighted enough to base that decision on a niche market.
