Watching Jojo for the first time and on episode 13, a few episodes into part two. Just curious if the silly tone the story took in part 2 continues for the rest of the series. I really enjoyed the part 1’s old English setting and, while absurd at times, seemed far more grounded than part two has been at the start.
I think I’m just disappointed that there isn’t much of a villain so far. Dio and Jonathan had a history. Dio had a backstory. Does that happen in part two? A nameless pillar dude and group of Germans seems underwhelming by comparison.
If you like the setting of Part 1 read the manga, it goes into a lot more detail than the anime. Just stick with it through part 2, Part 3 and Part 5 go capture a similar feel to Part 1 by comparison.

Villian gets his backstory later user but youll like part 3
Settings and atmosphere are vastly different from part to part and are frequently incorporate elements of other stories.
Part 1 feels Victorian and castlevania-esque Part 2 feels like an old WW2 era adventure serial Part 3 is basically around the world in 80 days with fights Part 4 is Twin Peaks with fights Part 5 is a mob movie Part 6 is bizarre Part 7 is a western and part 8 is bizarre

DP knew that people would like the later setting of 2 and especially 3, so they glossed over part 1 in like 10 episodes or so to get to the action. Part 1 in of itself is simply a completely different theme than the rest, mainly because Araki had no concrete direction, which can still be seen in part 2 in a sense. JoJo got legendary at part 3, which is where DP's priorities lie in the end.
I grew fond as well. But it goes away. It's like an ocean. You just gotta take it dive in it. You will find recurring settings. Continue till Part 5 on Anime and then read the manga

Part 1 is the most intimate part of the series. It's also the most shonen part. century.
Part 2 is more like an Indiana Jones adventure, but with the nazis as the good guys.
Part 3 is mostly a travel story, with a larger group of heroes, and a more villain of the week approach. It also drops the Hamon and introduces stands, which are more personal powers.
Part 4 is restricted to a single town and starts to show the artwork shift of Araki. The first half has no real main story and is mostly a monster of the week story. The second half is a manhunt against the best villain of the series.
Part 5 is a travel story in a mafia context, with weirder and weirder stands. It's not the best part but it's good nonetheless.
Part 6 is probably the messiest. The first part is a prison story with most of the main characters being women. The second part is a manhunt which gets weirder and weirder with the most wtf stand power.
Part 7 is a western story set during a horse race across the US in the 19th century. It's probably the best one, but it's also the one where everybody has the same fucking face and that's a shame.
Part 8 is not finished yet and is somewhat similar to part 4, although it's weirder but better.

Does part 8 also have a good villain?

Kira is mid tier.

Keep on watching.

Kira is nice, but I prefer Diavolo. I can relate to him. Otherwise I wouldn't be here.
Tyler Davis
It doesn't have a villain yet.

I started manga yesterday and already at part 2 does it get better or worse?
The real thing starts part 3 you have to push through.
Josiah Roberts
Better. 3 is good, 4 is the best, takes a bit of a dip at 5, 6 sucks, 7 is second best, 8 is great

Most people (read: everyone) will tell you that it gets better. If you enjoyed it well enough up until this point, chances are you'll enjoy the rest as well.
By the way, take a break between the different parts, user. Trust me on this one.

Part 3 is shit and the worst part, but it gets better after that.
part 1 is db part 2 is dbz part 3 onwards is super

Cars is a shit villain and Battle Tendency has bad fights. Joseph is an annoying Jojo because his power is bullshitting his enemies. Diamond is Unbreakable also has a lot of bad fights, and it's boring, and Kira was not a good villain. Stone Ocean had bad fights too, but the final arc was great and redeemed the flaws of the part. Gappy makes me happy.
