1. I find Misato to be a much more relatable character now that I'm well in to adulthood and while she doesn't have all her shit together, she's much closer than any of the other major female characters.
2. Asuka without question. If they could get over the initial hurdle of admitting their feelings and attraction to each other, then they would likely be able to have a fairly healthy relationship that would help each of them grow in to more well rounded people. Of course, neither of them can or does, which is the real tragedy of their relationship. Unfortunately we can only speculate how they handle thing after EoE.
