Unlike OP's light novel which lacks depth in some areas and occasionally jumps the shark, Log Horizon covers things such as psychology, economy, world building, skills, relationships, and of course, tactics used in gaming all the while showing samples of successful and not so successful combats.

In LN #11 as Krusty gets closer to Japan with Kanami's party , the light novel text even takes a more graphical way of presenting the text in order to show the prioritization and heirarchy of Kruty's way of thinking and arriving at conclusions. It's a nice way to continue the story without needting to go to side story mode to describe the thinking process. The author has skill.

Again, the reason most people praise Shiroe is because he can analyse the HP, MP and buffs/debuffs of an entire raid and predict how things will be in 5 minutes or something like that.
Unless you mean what he did when be bought the guild building, in which case I'm pretty sure it was mentioned that buying those buildings was always possible, it just costed so much money that you would need to be filthy rich or insane to be able to invest it and ultimately it would have been pointless because if you tried to abuse your ownership of the building, people would just fuck off to another city since long-distance travel was possible back then. Plus the upkeep costs are also insanely high, to the point that Shiroe wouldn't have been able to keep his ownership of the building if the other guilds refused to help him.
You could argue that him being the first to realize he could exploit that after the game became real is bad, but I don't really think it's that bad. The MC must stand out in some gaty after all.

Not at all. If you dive into it you'll get that impression at first because (1) their formulaic bad stuff will seem fresh at first and (2) you'll get recommended and start with a lot of their good stuff, but the overall quality-to-shit ratio is about the same.
I'd still recommend it though. Getting more quality material from a wider net staves off scrapping the bottom of the barrel.

They all have their own flaws and cliches as well. Chinks tend to make their MCs a sociopathic murderhobo who causually wiped out civilizations for the sake of power and have every person be an arrogant asshole. Gooks tend to make their MCs edgy OC donutsteel with worldbuilding that's basically reality with magic and dungeons on MMO rules. They also have near unlimited melodrama.

Most of the chinese ones have badly written synopsis that reads like a 12 year old wrote them. They have these ridiculous run on sentences.

They all seem to have copy pasta plots as well.

All the female MC ones seem to be some variation of :

>super talented assassin/secret agent/doctor/martial artist gets isekaied
>takes over a girl who is being bullied by her relatives
>all the villains are badly written ones who kick puppies for fun
>girl was also betrayed for the lulz
>she uses her OP martial arts to defeat her bullies and meets a super hot and mysterious love interest in the first 3 chapters who is usually a powerful government official
>more hot and mysterious guys from wealthy backgrounds keep showing up
>all the natives are totally helpless against the MC

Korea seems to be doing good so far for me so long as I don't go anywhere near something with videogames. The art often needs more refinement but they don't use shitty japanese humour.
The con is that any male love interest if it's a female MC will usually be a jackass that the feMC is reasonable for wanting to run away from (often because he's literally killed her) but you know she's going to be stuck together with worst boy. Everyone in and out of universe complains that she wants nothing to do with the nutcase love interest while the royal family is actively planning to kill the FeMC to get her out of the way. Somehow noone who knows her head is being put on a chopping block if she goes that path ever stops to think that the FeMC could actually not want to die despite that being the entire premise of the story.

Japan is Japan. we've all seen it. Same problem with jackass love interests as Korea but it's primarily limited to Shoujo isekai/anything.

I wouldn't touch Chinese stuff with a 10 foot pole because it's always yaoi, the summary is clearly written in some sort of code, everyone else is a murderhobo, and rape is everywhere.

Seeing other people's comments on it have been annoying me lately due to so many people complaining about her being a dense MC when if she were less dense she'd have put two and two together like I had before the latest reveal to realize the original love interest had her executed while knowing she did nothing wrong for the sake of power. Wanting to run away from blaring neon lights screaming that you are going to die doesn't make her unreasonable.
To summarize a conversation in a most recent chapter
Girl B: The royal family is totally going to kill you now that he might actually inherit the throne if he doesn't divorce you.
MC:I asked him if he wants to do that so that I won't have to deal with them executing me to move me out of the way and he refused. I just want to GTFO and live in peace before I get killed.
Girl B: Good luck with that you dense baka!
MC: ....

Admittedly he's not as bad a love interest as most others where the FemMC actually remembered/experienced being tortured and executed by their husband/love interest for funsies, but it was really bizarre how noone considered not wanting to die to be a legitimate motivation.

There's one Korean story (forgot the name) where the MC was brutally executed and generally treated like shit her whole original life by the love interest and the justification was that the shithead prince was angry that the girl's MOTHER loved her own child more than him and asked him to take care of her on her deathbed.
People claim Canaria (Mc in survive as the hero's wife) is dense but if you ask me she has the right idea. If you are ever in a Korean reincarnation story you haul your ass out of there as fast as you can to get away from your love interest.
