I wouldn't say it's a problem with the West so much so as a problem with many TV networks in America. A talking SkyWhale as the fairy sounds fun as fuck, with their base being one of those beach shacks with the city being fishing focused as said, and they'll need to recover Not!Atlantis from the clutchs of the deep sea. I mean there's a fuckton of stories/monsters/characters that could be used, and a christmas by the sea sounds comfy as fuck, with the cliffhanger being the true end boss emerging from the sea Kaijuu-style.
