It does , Brother. Let's be honest, 30k/40k aren't cut for a real life series à la GoT these days because there are little to no women in it, so it won't appeal to a sizeable chunk of the masses. The two mediums that are left are 3D animation à la Lord Inquisitor or Astartes , but that costs a fuckton to produce , and failed once (that shit Ultramarines movie) . Thus the only media left is anime . But good lord I'd kill for a HH series.

The Black Library's best writers are never put on those productions, and the Japanese don't "get" the kind of science fantasy that 40k is really going for.

The fuck are you on about? The only faction that doesn't have women are either completely inhuman like orks or necrons or a function based one like SMs. Not to mention 40k is big enough that you can just put any story inside it. You could put GoT inside it, make the north pole a warp gate that periodically opens and spawn ice zombies, you can explain away almost anything with "lol, it's the warp".
