Damn, I didn't even notice the entire background was CGI in that scene until you pointed it out. Yeah, it's really great how in-synch their 3D department is with their animators, it's the reason why the characters look like they belong to the background even when the latter is rotating. webm related is especially impressive too, that shit would have been fucking impossible to do on a TV budget if they went for 2D backgrounds, and any other studio attempting this kind of blend between rotating CG backgrounds and 2D rotation animation would have resulted in a shitload of QUALITY I think. I may be wrong though, are there any other studios that manage CGI this well?
From the looks of it Fire Punch seems line it's going to be another production miracle like OPM S1 where tons of talented freelancers gathered under the banner of a single show. That's just me speculating though.

I heavily disagree. People are draw to violence and are easily convinced of it, and are ready to seek it and form it in their minds wherever possible. I think convincing art that protrays something like an intense conversation or ordinary life is much more suited to describe the apex of the medium. It likely won't be due to the lack of popular appeal of such things in the medium. Consider the overall lack of interest in Violet Evergarden's story, despite relatively strong quality of (admittedly not well suited style for the story they were trying to tell) visuals.

It's the small details of its simplicity that elevate the scene. While the animation is good, what's key here is the direction. Also, with the further context of the rest of the show, this scene is meant to be a stark contrast to all the character's usual behavior up until this point, which is anything but precise and decisive.
