I was a HUGE fucking clampfag when I was younger. Clover is still my favorite thing they've done. Anime adaptation never. I also really liked Suki But at least I can buy Frame Arm Girls and Shinkis to pretend Angelic Layer is real.
this was my first anime, it’s very nostalgic to me

is patlabor good? i put it on my to-watch list ages ago but still haven't got around to it
JIBUN WOOOOOOAH
It's a lot like a slice-of-life law&order, but more kid-friendly.
The mini plots that occur throughout can be rather jarring though, since the continuity is interrupted. I don't recommend binge watching it for that reason, as it's a lot like going from hot to cold with no brakes in between. An episode every morning or something will be just fine.
Yes. Watch the movie too.
I remember watching votoms back in the day, the ed's pretty swell

Woo! Someone else remember's Himiko-den. I loved the Op, and I liked the way it changed bit by bit as new characters were introduced in the story.
Lamune had lots of great openings, and Fire is my second favourite behind Fresh
youtube.com
Dual... god, early 2000's digital colouring was so fucking jarring. It's like watching paint swatches from the hardware store fuck onscreen.
Also, VanDread is a huge blast from the past.. it was the first series I ever got to watch seasonally thanks to a friend in Japan in a Dalnet IRC channel I was in who was doing subs for the group. Then someone took his subs, rerelased it with their name on it and he ragequit the chan and I haven't talked to him since. Mmm.... early 00's internet drama. Also, can't fucking find 2nd stage opening on youtube, prob copyright bullshit.
youtube.com
Ah, Gobots the Movie.
I remember watching this as a kid. The actual Japanese Op is pretty good, too.

someone posted the opm s2 ed for christ's sake.
nostalgia in this thread is more about whether a song can make you feel sentimental for your own brand of "good old days" or not. it doesn't actually *have* to be from your good old days. if it's timeless then its timelessness is sure to show as days go by.
Well I assume the older fags will be all
>">anything after 2000"
>">nostalgic"
Honestly the best year for media like Anime, Games, Movies, Music, and TV was 2004, there has never been a year quite like it since then. You had Clannad, Spider-Man 2, Shrek 2, The Passion of the Christ (god bless Mel Gibson), The Day After Tomorrow, The Alamo, National Mother Fucking Treasure, Burnout3, and a shit ton of good music but I won't name them because this list is already too damn long.
And yes I did just greentext greentext.

patrician taste
Don't you dare to be kidding with that, is the new orphen anime a joke or is it true ?
are you sure why is the movie lost?
youtube.com
I think I started browsing Yea Forums around when this was coming on
The movie was back before digital storage was really a thing, so it only existed on film reels, including the master. It was never released on any home media, and the TV series never got a proper release (they only released a censored version for home media, the uncensored, including the 26th episode only survived because some intrepid soul managed to get hands on the Lazerdisc release).
This was back before the storage capacity of things like DVD and Blu Ray were made to be filled with all the leftover preproduction crap and the audiences clamoured for every piece and scrap of it like they do now, so they most likely assumed that anime was "done" since it finished airing and original home release on vhs and either disposed of or lost the masters. Aside from some random bits of merch like the soundtrack, and a brief VHS PV that surfaced a while back it's basically nowhere.

There's a very good chance the only people who will ever watch it did in theaters back in '98.

It aired on children's television uncut in Italy and the UK, very nice OST if you can find it (last I checked only flaac torrent was being seeded). I really enjoyed a rewatch of it a few years back, lots of things that went over my head as a kid. Definitely one of my favourite isekai of all time. The ending's pretty low key though and I always worry it'll disappoint some viewers who expect everything resolved at once.

>i'm really into the medium and can watch basically anything above average
1500, including movies and OVAs
We'll say I'm somewhere between 2 & 3 with an upper limit of 1,000ish then. So that's a lot. I really do enjoy/appreciate the medium and understand the production process to some extent as I've got an uncle who was an animator for Disney.
I guess I'll just sift through here, jot down the ones that struck my fancy, and start going through them in my downtime.

There's enough material in this thread to turn an Yea Forumsnime virgin into an Yea Forumslpha weeb. I've never seen so much glory so easily accessible around these parts.
Perhaps... under this kind of guidance, mind you - perhaps there is hope for the future generations.
Kare Kano's OP is a special one because I only heard it for the first time last year and yet it makes me feel so nostalgic.
I adore Midnight Blues. I'd also count all the YuYu Hakusho OPs and EDs, though I grew up on the English dub's covers.
>Sailor Moon
I love Moonlight Densetsu (and Stars' OP) but my favourite animation to go with it is the second OP. The timing is just so satisfying.
>Ojamajo Doremi
Another OP that feels nostalgic even if you're hearing it for the first time.
Don't know why you don't have any (You)s, both of those are fantastic choices.
>not the English Rave Master OP
Someone else mentioned it earlier in the thread, don't worry
I'm not hugely into DB/DBZ but I freaking love the English version of that first ED. It's so nice.
I was in town. OP3 is my favourite, I absolutely love it. ED1 and ED4 are worth mentioning too, so I'm adding them to my post.

LET'S GO, PASSION!
>AIR TV
Can't believe I didn't think of it. I remember rushing to watch a new episode before school and feeling so dead inside after it finished I slumped and wouldn't budge. First time anything had done that, possibly the only time.
I was going to post FMA but the song that's most nostalgic for me is Bratja, which only plays over credits once if I recall correctly.
Fuck yeah Sorcerer Hunters.
>Kinnikuman
I still haven't even watched it but I love the second OP, it's so upbeat youtube.com
I mean if it's an ED even once I'd say that would count under what OP asked for.
I know what you mean, though. FMA 03's soundtrack is so nostalgic to me that I get a bit emotional listening to it (this one and Warmth tug hard at my heartstrings youtube.com
On a similar note, have you seen "The Night is Short, Walk On, Girl"? It has the same composer as FMA 03 did and so watching it was a delight in its own way.
I have questions about those jeans!
>Princess Tutu
Thanks for reminding me, I love that ED.

Came here to post this.
Oh Jesus what a memory lane trip. This was U-Jin attempting to make a wholesome seinen rather than the fantastic porn he was known for and God bless him for it.
Pure kino

Someone in here posted Nurse Witch Komugi, so I thought I'd take a trip down down a very specific memory lane. Come, join me as Haruka Momoi's noseful singing burrows directly into your earholes.

Technically cheating, as it's the Game Op, but I don't think it's any less nostalgic for Yea Forums at this point.

Is it bad to be nostalgic for an OP from this decade? Star Driver was 9 years ago.

What was that song that ends with "dare no tame tatakau"
It's stuck in my head but I can't put a name to it.
I mean, that was the most popular, yeah. It's not my favourite though, so it didn't come to mind right away.
It might not count for this thread, but I know what you mean. Heck I'm nostalgic about anime I watched in 2015.
I'm a bit nostalgic for this even though I watched it in 2010: youtube.com
I don't know, but if you google that phrase you get quite a few results. Hopefully one might jog your memory.
To be fair 9 years is still a long time
Nah, it feels like yesterday.
>DN2
Goddammit why was this series so insane?
>Bleach
This opening is so beatiful it makes the tragedy of this series even more hertbreaking.
Was this ever finished? WAS THE MANGA EVER FINISHED? I tried to keep up with it but was very difficult to find (not to mention depressing as all fuck).
>calienta los motores
You just gotta love Vandread. Couldnt keep up with Galaxy Angel though, too much weird shit.
My nigga
>Vandread
>That one episode where the guy shaves his head
All these based fantasy animes I really hate how over-saturation of isekai ruining fantasy anime now.
>Ojamajo Doremi
Is there any other anime with all its openings being kino? I cant think of any.

>at least 1500 shows are above average
Either a poser trying to fit in (most probably because of the lack of capitalization) or someone with incredibly shitty taste.
>those moves on the pink haired harlot

>Gosick
A damn shame that Lisa Komine didn't perform this style of music more often - both EDs were among my favorites of the decade.
the ops for blood+ were wasted on such a boring ass show.
But that doesn't end with those lyrics...
I miss remembered, it was "dare no tame"
I'm pretty sure Photon's OP does not exist on youtube, or dailymotion as a standalone
However:

Surprised this one didn't get posted yet, because it kicked all kinds of ass.
