Looks like a typical action sequence from 40+ years ago.

D-Did he die?

>japanese "acting"

That's what happens when you hire nothing but fucking idols to your movies who are not trained career actors.

Nisekoi's not an anime adaptation, that's a manga adaptation. Also, cherrypicking exceptional shitty live action doesn't change the fact that there's a lot of good to great adaptation of animu and mango.

There's more to live action adaptations of manga than just the memes you see on Yea Forums.

I'm surprised LA anime even has a market, I can only imagine how bad some scenes must be that just don't work in a live adaptation setting compared to anime.

It's no different from adapting novels and comic books/graphic novels.

Wth happened to the Japanese film industry anyway? They made top tier kino in the 50's-70's

radiation addled brains.

As with all things, talent faded away. I'm not just talking about actors, but with everyone involved with working on a movie, from props to stage effects to the cameraman. Cinematography has moved away from set pieces to action scenes, and unlike having an iconic still frame, we're left with repetitive, boring chase / fight / car scenes, with repeated bursts of adrenaline attempting to replace deep pathos.

Production committees got involved and are too conservative and want the movies to eventually be shown on TV (which means restrictions). Talent agencies have too much power. That's what I've heard.

>no toast in mouth

Fune wo Amu has a rather good live-action adaption. In this case its the anime adaption that looks out of place. Mostly because the source material is not for children.

The City Hunter live action Movie: Nicky Larson et le Parfum de Cupidon, is a work of art.
It has soul. It's pretty faithful to the source material. It is chock full of other anime references.
It's made by FANS of the series and you can feel it.
It's fantastic.

You got to know French to enjoy it though.
Would also be neat if you grew up watching the French anime channels.

Ichi the Killer is a masterpiece.

Liar Game did it quite well, actually.

The realized animation is superior and stopped focusing on outdated shit.

>look up manga the movie is based on

>check it in mangaupdates

Combien de francais dois je comprendre?

Assez.
Bon pas trop quand meme. C'est un anime apres tout.

What's the consens on the erased Live Action series? I actually enjoyed it a lot

Ok, merci

Blazing transfer student live action is pretty good. It's captures the wackiness of the manga perfectly

The Japanese Death Note live action movies were fucking great and better than the anime or manga.

Nisekoi was a shit manga to begin with. Watch the live action version of Oldboy. Now there's a manga adaptation done right.

>Nicky Larson et le Parfum de Cupidon
Bless you.

Unless the movie is directed by based Takeshi Miike. His adaptation of Blade of the Immortal was fucking awesome.

Survivorship bias happened.

There are a few enjoyable ones.

name two

>Talent agencies have too much power
This is the big problem. They are super powerful and often mob-linked. They have absolute control over the film if you want their actors (and you do), which very frequently means that the film becomes focused on showing off the stars, since obviously the agencies don't directly get money from film sales.

You have dogshit taste and you always will, your entire life is a waste

Edge of tomorrow and Alita battle angel

I think that's actually pretty kowaii.

fucking loved that movie, too bad it was overshadowed by Iron-man that year
