Kurumi
Reason: she's not that great but definitely better than most of characters in the series who are all one-dimensional.
In terms of design:Natsumi adult form. God damn she's so hot
Waifu material: Mukuro. She's cute and gentle and that's enough

>Mukuro.
Pretty much everyone who's read her arc would pick her without any doubt.

Attached: kcm.jpg (960x576, 138K)

The only character I would call one-dimensional is Miku, everyone else is either is just a representation of existent stereotypes with some of them having better characterization than others. Having goals doesn't make a character good when the reason behind said goal is utterly retarded which is made worse when the character is supposed to be somewhat smart. So far the only girl that feels unique and doesn't fall in your everyday cliches would be Reine.

Quite interesting that the most unique characters ended up being Shido and Reine. This should have been a signal for what was about to come.

I'm sure that wasn't the original intention considering the series was supposed to be only 10 volumes long but it helps the more Tachibana "likes" a character, the more retarded he makes said character, which is why Reine remained a mystery till the very end and Shidou is the antithesis of Tohka.

Patrician taste based user

I know, but I'm pretty sure his favorite was Kurumi. He'd usually write better when she was around.

? If anything Tohka seems to be his favorite, she gains all the power ups, she keeps getting roles in arcs where she is not needed, she turned into a fucking Goddess and the final arc belongs to her now, in the movie she gained a nonsensical form and saved the day. Hell, he even made dark Tohka a good girl now and even gave her a name for no good reason. Tohka is the only one who gets this treatment, he made Origami a revenge blinded idiot for like 10 volumes but at least it made sense with her character but then Kurumi turned out to be an even bigger naive idiot than Tohka and Origami combined, and she is supposed to be "smart".

Yuzuru

I still don't understand why episode 2 was so much better than the rest of the season, it had good direction, consistent and good looking art, the animation wasn't bad and the pacing was good. It's like a completely different staff was in charge of it.

>no individual picks for Kaguya and Yuzuru

At least her date was well adapted.

Were you even in the threads?

There are people who like Miku, user.

Yeah, if you mean the other studios I doubt that is the case. The one called Engi also worked in other episode that don't look nearly as good. I think there were a few chinese ones but they didn't work in episode 2 from what I remember.

but how?

I think you replied to the wrong post.

Engi worked on episode 2. The whole season was tasked to JC Staff and Engi for the most part but looking at the first half and the second half of the season, there were a lot of key animators coming and going constantly. During the first half it was Engi that did the good looking episodes with episodes such as 2, 4 and 5, except they didn't have time to finish the fifth episode in time. JC did episode 1 and 3. Then, it seems as though the teams working on the anime changed or something becuase it was JC Staff that started producing the good looking ones while another studio whose name I can't remember came in. It was a mess.

I don't know, you can try asking them if they want to post something.
I noticed.

I don't remember episode 4 looking good, just okay but the pacing was all over the place and they rushed a lot. Even if they lacked time to finish episode 5, the entire thing looked really bad for what they had and I'm not just talking about the slideshow, ep 5 also had the biggest amount of QUALITY in the entire season. I dont think there was a single decent looking scene.

Episode 8 and 10 are one of the few above average looking episodes and Engi wasn't involved. I really doubt they were responsible for episode 2 quality.

They were the ones that did episode 2. Some guy who was on twitter used to post the staff that was in charge of the episode. I remember seeing episode 2 being done by Engi.

Let's eat candy user!

Attached: bf.jpg (870x1078, 137K)

Could it be? Promo art for the anime that doesn't look like complete garbage?

Yeah, I'm somewhat suprised myself. I decided to check out the DAL twitter again since I haven't in a while and looks like they finally let someone who draws decently on-model characters take care of the promotional art. Sure took a long time.

Attached: DALs.jpg (1200x786, 239K)

I know they worked in episode 2, their name is in the ED but it doesn't seem like they are the ones who responsible for how good the episode turned out to be given they other episodes they worked one and the other few episodes that looked somewhat good had nothing to do with them.

It's probably the guys who do the 2nd key animation that made episode 2 as god as it was.

It doesn't look good either. Tohka's face is off and it looks like Kurumi was drawn by a different person then photoshoped in.

It does look better than this though

Yeah, it seems like they guy who made the key visual was the one who made the bad looking episodes. You can tell by just looking at Shidou's hair, he is the one who didn't know how to draw him and also gave him those stupid hair horns.

>Tohka's face is off
It's this guy's style.
I hated how Shidou looked in the bad looking episodes, those "horns" sure made him look too idiotic to even take the episode seriously.

Attached: fv.jpg (1500x1027, 326K)

Doesn't look that similar, especially the shape of the faces.

Episodes 6, 8 and 10 all looked pretty good too.

Episode 6 looked okay, it still had some scenes with characters being off-model and the action scenes weren't very well animated. Nothing really bad but not as good looking as ep 8 and 10.

Still one of the best dates in the series.

Wat

How the fuck can you fuck up one the simplest designs in the series?

Probably some korean with little experience in drawing.

Explain her low grades at school then.

I still remember those copy paste faces, such laziness in the key visual of all things.

I just wonder, how can you fuck up in the most simple things? It's becuase of the key visual and the first episode that a lot of people got turned off. Same mistake as season 2.

Don't forget the PV was only released like 1 week before the anime actually aired and the first episode was a "fixed" version of the pre-screening so the reception would have been even worse without the feedback to "fix" it.

JC Staff really killed Index, DAL and OPM didn't they? As a fan of the three, I couldn't have asked for a better punishment.

Attached: it was as if she was looking at trash.png (1150x400, 1.33M)

I don't think Nips care much about the OPM adaptation. The anime is still better than your average adaptation they are used to and for them it must look okay. I think the west is more pissed about it than Japan.

I mean, have you watched that mess? It might be on the same level as DAL. If they aren't mad about the trasition from season 1 to season 2 then what do they even care about?

>It might be on the same level as DAL
The animation is a far cry from season 1 but let's not be retarded. DAL had even less animation than Index and the character were off-model most of the time. OPM at least has one or two animators that give a shit, can't say the same about DAL. Most nips and even chinks, the diehard fans of the series, dropped the anime due to how terrible it looked. This is not the case with OPM.

for me it's origami. how can you say she's the best girl if she won't drink your pee?

Did you watch that Garou vs Watchdog Man? Tell me it wasn't as bad as something like Tohka vs Origami.

Is something wrong with Captcha? It keeps telling me I'm sending automated queries

Yeah but it was a short battle, even in the manga it wasn't that much of a fight but it still had more frames than episode 5 "action" scenes. Tohka vs Origami was also extended for an entire episode and it looked terrible with CGI effects, jump cuts, no choreography and flow between scenes, etc.

Gross.

You fucked up.

Attached: 51882747183542.jpg (750x1334, 306K)

You can't really compare OPM with DAL in that aspect. OPM is a battle-oriented manga that requires good animation ofr it to work. DAL only needs to have an average animation to work, they're different. Season 2 is an even bigger disaster than even DAL 3.

Hope they fix Rinne in the BD.

Attached: rinne.jpg (2150x1500, 815K)

>Season 2 is an even bigger disaster than even DAL 3
You mean OPM S2? That is not true at all. Even if OPM is a action centered series so are most shone series that get 200+ episodes and the anime in those adaptations can get really bad. OPM action is still far better than what DAL got and saying OPM is worse just because it doesn't live up to the your standards or the manga is ridiculous. Hell, even season 1 couldn't get all the details of the manga right.

Please, don't remind me of how they ruined the scene with Rinne. It was one of the most anticipated scenes I had and the fuckers were even hyping it up in the OP and ED.

Don't worry user, maybe like they did with episode 5, they'll fix her scene in the BD.

I fail to see how that is a good thing. The TV version should be a decent looking and finished product but more than half of the episodes in S3 look bad. Even S2 managed to have a decent looking arc with good enough pacing. S3 had its first arc rushed with bad animation and art, the second arc was also rushed and the animation was inconsistent between episodes and once again they had to rush the finale; then we have the final episode. That was the final "fuck you" JC Staff gave to the series and anyone who still cared.

It was that retarded director again. The only thing the needed to make this season 10 times better was to replce the director.

It's obvious the guy who made the bad episodes was in charge.

Why did they even get the same guy again? After the shitshow that was season 2 and the studio change one would think they would get a new staff to work in the series and not the same guy the fucked up preivous seasons and Digimon Tri.

Ah, yes, the director. This is also one of the reasons I don't want another season, even if they changed studios I know that guy would be in charge again.

I don't know, they changed everything except the retarded idiot director.

What makes you think she isn't one-dimensional like the rest?

Season 2 still managed to sell well so maybe they thought they could do the same with S3.

Eh, OPM still has the manga and webcomic. This adaptation will be remembered as mistake made by an incompetent studio but I doubt it will damage the reputation of the series like it happened with DAL.

>I don't want another season
But Muku, user!

Attached: Muku depressed.jpg (580x390, 25K)

Yeah, because I totally want to see her off-model and how they butcher her arc. Do you really think JC Staff can deliver? Even if they get a new studio. Do you think the same director can do justice to her arc?

I'd be fine with it if they got a new director for the series.

At this point that is even more unlikely to happen than a studio change.

Miku is breast girl with cutest voice

That doesn't say much, Yuzuru and Reine also have big breasts and their voices don't sound like they are trying to be cute and childish like Miku.

Her cutesy voice and demeanor is great. She also has best hair and a pleasing color scheme in general.

Attached: yande.re 286609 cleavage date_a_live izayoi_miku pantyhose shen_hong.jpg (6390x4086, 3.06M)

More like forced and very annoying, her dress is one of the worst and her anime design isn't very good, hell even the LN design isn't that good compared to Kurumi, Kotori, Mukuro, Yuzuru or even Tohka's. The himecut is very generic but the series has a lot of generic hair styles so that is not saying much. The light purple palette doesn't look very well in her which is why Artemisa looks better. I think Vert's design wasn't made with a different color palette in mind.

>Posting old Origami.
You didn't learn your lesson right?

Well, it won't happen anyway user so you shouldn't be concerned.

Yeah, after how they adapted volume 12 in a single episode is safe to say the anime is dead.

Origami because if a girl is willing to do this she's a keeper

Gross.

She looks fat.

Not a Mikufag but she's defintely not fat. I'll admit that much.

Old Origami >>> NeOrigami anyway

That word gets used to describe any girl that's soft and feminine so often that it's starting to get me aroused whenever I hear it.

Obviously, but she still looks fat when you look at her anime design.

? Yuzuru also looks very soft and feminine but she doesn't look nearly as chubby as Miku does.

Are there weight measurements for the girls? Yuzuru and Mukuro are girls that I would consider soft looking but they look pretty slim.

Old Origami is awful. The new Origami is a massive improvement even though her personality is mostly the same.

Nothing will top that scene.

It reminds of those Tom and Jerry scenes where they hit in the face by an Iron.

Fuck, the comfiness if these threads takes me back.

Fag.

Miku still manages to look bad between seasons. She is also the character who doesn't look that similat to her LN counterpart.

The movie came close to replicate her LN design.

Better enjoy while you can, it's hard to have successful theads since the last volume disappointed nearly everyone here.

Why would a single volume kill these threads though?

We only used to have threads whenever new info was announced or a new volume was release so it's not that different. However, the last volume left a bad taste in most anons here and I think most of them dropped the series so when the last volume is released I'm not expecting a lot of replies. Also, this third awful season didn't help at all.

Sounds like you weren't here for volume 12 threads.

Volume 20 wasn't nearly as bad as that volume but I can understand why people wouldn't like it.

Yeah, it wasn't that bad but volume 12 was was released after Tachibana stated the series was half-finished meaning there was a chance for more good volumes to come. This is not the case now, we are stuck with an arc whose first arc was filler and replaced what could have been a great finale with an interesting narrative that focused on Shidou and his past with Mio. The damage is far greater than what volume 12.

I think Tachibana was really killing it with this arc but he probably couldn't find a way to beat Mio with how Shidou and the other spirits were so hr had to kill her off.

Origami is the cutest

There were several other methods, the most obvious being time travel 30 years to the past. The way he killed Mio off was also really idotic "oh, Westcott has this spell that could made him Mio tier but never used before, not even in his fight with Shidou but now he can!" which was just a lame excuse not only to get rid of Mio but Westcott too. He was a pathetic villain that never did anything on his own, received power because his two bodyguards got it for him, lost to Shidou despite being an omniscient being and finally died when he got the power he wished for and could attain at any moment. That is the reason why he didn't make Mio kill him even though he was the one who fucking killed her loved one and she was even willing to kill the girls, because he was the plot device to kill Mio.

>Origami
jesus you guys have shit taste

If you were smart you would have noticed the amount of votes is twice the posters in the thread. That means someone is proxy voting the poll.

The problem with going back 30 years is that succeeding would've erased everything that happened in the entire series. Tachibana wrote himself into a corner with Mio and it's doubtful that there could've been any resolution that wasn't as asspull.

But it would make sense for what Shidou was aiming for and he even promised Kurumi he would fix her mess. Shidou already came to terms he shouldn't have been born and his existence is the main reason Mio planned all of this. If that meant giving the girls their humanity and lives back it was well worth erasing himself from existence. It made sense thematically and fits his character well.

He doesn't even have to go 30 years ago and prevent his creation, he could have gone to an era where he could try to speak with Mio or Reine and convince her to change of mind or hell try to convince her that if he manages to prevent Shinji's death then she doesn't have to involve so many innocent lives. It's an even bigger asspull to make someone as powerful as her just to kill both of them than actually change her mindset, especially when she has been watching Shidou all this time and even started to consider him his own persona.

Tachibana chose the easy way, decide to kill Mio and then gave Tohka the spotlight because she is a much simpler character. It's also obvious he didn't even try to think of way to convince/save Mio considering the very next volume was filler. He just doesn't care and wants to finish the novel.

Nice try.

Attached: aaah.png (820x460, 671K)

I was expecting Tohka to gain yet another asspull power up and save the day again by changing Mio's mind. This sounds exactly like something Tachibana would make.

Yoshino didn't deserve what happened last volume.

She did it on her own, to push Tohka to the limit. She chose to do that herself. If anything, that should be something to admire instead.

>She did it on her own, to push Tohka to the limit. She chose to do that herself. If anything, that should be something to admire instead.
The thing is the any of the girls would have done the same had they won the battle royal because Tachibana never intended to make a genuine confession since Shidou had no idea what they were doing. Yoshino and any of the other girls who like Shidou can confess to him any time they want, trying to decide a winner through a competition makes it look like they don't really consider her feelings for Shidou a serious matter.

The entire volume was just filler that led to nowhere and won't make any impact nor change anything between Shidou and the other girls. Tachibana merely used Yoshino as a scapegoat for his stupid contest.

Any time, for all time.

Attached: __tokisaki_kurumi_date_a_live_drawn_by_tsunako__d10ea4331ef72ab9d0e0bf3c592d6ccf.png (1868x2616, 2.68M)

I don't see how that was necessary at all. Shidou already was on his way to find her, making him confess to Tohka while she is dying was the very definition of forced drama considering Shidou adquired Mio's crystal so he can do anything he wants now. Tachibana only did that to remind the reader Tohka is the main girl and she was going to win.

That entire scene was cute.

Attached: [HorribleSubs] Date A Live S3 - 02 [720p].mkv_snapshot_10.43_[2019.01.18_15.19.54].jpg (1280x720, 490K)

But now that Mio is dead and Tohka died too, Shidou posesses Mio's crystal and can easily seal Kurumi as well. Now he can use the time travel bullet and fix everything and if he actually does that next volume. Wouldn't that make the whole deal with Mio and Tohka a total waste of time?

I think the problem is that Mio was just too powerful a character to exist in a series like DAL in the first place.
Now that I think about it I'm not sure how much Shidou would even be able to change with time travel. In volume 11 time travel works on a time loop system where your attempt to change the past is already a part of the established timeline; and even if you do successfully change something like preventing a death the established timeline asserts itself and causes that death to happen anyway.

The series literally started with a normal highschool boy stopping super powered girls not through fighting but dates. Shidou wasn't going to win Mio over if he fought her which is why he tried to convince her with words. That's what he has been doing all this time. However, the moment Tachibana decided Mio was too complex for him to handle since she was a threat for Tohka he decided to get rid of her in a very anticlimatic way.

I'm not sure why you think her powers are relevant to this when early in the series Shidou managed to save Tohka and Yoshino without fighting. Telling Mio that he could prevent Shinji's death would have been a perfect way to convince her since that is what she has been trying to do all along, bring him back to life.

>In volume 11 time travel works on a time loop system
That was only the case because it was set from the beginning of the series that a spirit of light killed Origami parents, this is something Tachibana planned and kept the same all the way through Origami's arc, however, that doesn't mean that is how time works in DAL universe or else we will see a lot of events that happened because of established loops.

Everything that happened 30 years ago had nothing to do with someone traveling to the past and causing it so we can't apply the same logic if Shidou decides to change the past. Not to mention unlike Origami who became a normal girl, Mio is still a spirit and Shidou could teach her how to use her powers in the past in order to stop DEM for good or hell, he himself can stop Westcott and co once and for all.

Why would you count the puppet as a spirit but now the twins as individual ones?

>caring about the animeonly poll
