It's finally over. And even had a couple of fake endings in there.

It was a truly great journey, I love Gintama and this ending was kinda the way that it always meant to be: they are happy and I am happy.

This is the way it should be.

Gintama will always have a place in my heart, definitely one of my favourite series

Thanks for dumping OP even though I have lost interest and isn't going to read.

Was there a thread when the raws were released for this chapter? I'm surprised by the total lack of reception considering how popular the series is.

I'll wait it out a month or so to see if Gorrilla-san pulls a Bleach and is back at it. It's been a fun ride. I'm glad it got an ending the author wanted.

And boy did he drag it as far as he could to whatever end he eventually decided to give it.

Which ironically fits the series better than you would think

I know not to trust Gorilla, but I'm still cry-laughing. It's been the ride of my life, and final chapter was pretty much what I expected from it. Banrise better play Pray as ending song.

I remember my entire history with this fucking series, the arcs I skipped, the tears I shed during Shinsengumi Crisis, how much I loved the arcs portraying Gin's past, Tsukuyo being best girl, and how the series went full fucking throttle in Namek in its final push.

It was fun

gintama doesnt get much attraction on this shitty board, it gets more on fucking Yea Forums sometimes
also it doesnt help that Yea Forums got an excuse to post eva so now there are about 15 eva threads up at any given point

Anyone else glad that Gorilla-san gives the shipperfags nothing to work with in the end?

> if Gorrilla-san pulls a Bleach and is back at it
You mean Naruto, Bleach didn't have anymore manga chapters after its ending

That nice Tsukuyo doujin got translated anyway, plus I knew the whole thing would end with returning to status quo.
As it should be for a series like this

We still have the anime coming back

yes
thankfully Gorilla avoided the cliche of pairing everybody in the end.

So what's the verdict on Gintama?
Is it worth reading the manga? Because I don't have time to watch the anime.

As much as I liked the girls this was the ending that stays the most true to the series, wouldn't have it any other way

Got a link for that pal?

yes

But make time to watch the Anime

Now that I look at it, it's not new at all. It was TL'd 10 months ago. It's that love potion one.

Gintama doesn't get that much reaction here because there's simply nothing to complain about.

A long-ass ride but it was worth it.

I'm waiting for the inevitable anime finale. But for now. Goddamn gorilla, you actually fucking did it. Congratulations.

NOW WHERE THE FUCK IS MY GINTOKI x TSUKUYO

Is this really the last chapter? No more stupid spin-offs, extra chapters?
Finally.

Considering the number of jokes about it ending that were made, we're at like 50/50 that it's really over.

So Tama only came back to life in a future when the whole cast is already dead, huh. Even if she got all those memories that's surprisingly depressing.
Anyway it was a great ride and I will miss it for sure.

This part so confused me while reading. Thought for a moment Tama-chan is living in a simulation and not actually in real life.

Nevertheless, it's a good final chapter for Gintama. A fitting end for this roller coaster ride of a manga. I'm just disappointed gorilla didn't make a dick joke about its length in comparison to Bleach and Naruto.

>15 years

Nice chapter and ending. Thank you Sorachi Sensei. But for me it will not end until anime concludes.

One of the best manga finales I’ve ever seen imo.
It’s quite a great way to end Gintama, thanks for these 15 years of happiness and sadness, Gorilla

Will any of the other mangaka say good-bye to him like the others?

Gorilla was the maddest cheeseburger to ever create a shonen mango.

Will we ever see a manga/anime like this ever again?

No, dear god no. The amount of references alone make it hard to compare since Gorilla has blatantly read every issue of Jump published since the time he learned how to read and is freakishly self-aware to a point that most others would be unable to achieve.

So what’s up with the baby ?

Thanks for the dump, but Gintama overstayed its welcome by like 150 chapters. Every non-comedy bit past Rakuyo felt like it was written by a robot simulating human emotion. Sorachi is really not good at pacing drama and character arcs, writing serious dialogue, or letting things go. When you see the same half dozen people get slashed practically in half every chapter for 20 weeks and continue going because YAMATO DAMASHII and have fakeout deaths for literally every main character, it's hard to give a shit anymore. At least this chapter was funny.

Nobody won the Gintoki's bowl but at least Sachan got to see his dick.

>ends with the Yorozuya Gin-chan and Tama
Ah yes. We truly were the Gintama.

Takasugi

made me legitimately sad, like friends i've known for a long time going separate way

Don't worry, he'll be prominent in the final ED.

I thought this shit ended ages ago. Is this the last last chapter?

Don't worry, they will be back in Gintama Super

You mean Shinsengumi Sword-Wind Notebook, right?

I feel like Donald Trump's spirit will also haunt us forever.

same here ... i first came across Gintama anime and was hooked to it's humor

>Banrise better play Pray as ending song.
This is all I've been thinking since I heard this shit was going to end years ago. Please don't let me down.

He is the green stuff in a bento box after all.

What exactly is the "evil magistrate" archetype?

This series is really special to me. It's the one long-lived manga/anime series I've been following that never really turned to shit. The series always made me feel something through its funny and sad scenes. Honestly it was a lot like the Fresh Prince. I think the series got kind of repetitive in the tail end of the serious arcs, like how the gorilla gave every character an internal monologue when it looked like they were going to die but then just had them survive. You can only really do that so many times before it gets super predictable. All the same I really appreciate the serious arcs too. I cried like a bitch when Takasugi died in Gintoki's arms in 703.

I also think the Gorilla truly has some wisdom about navigating life through his "lessons". I think in that way Gintama makes for a great self-help book or manual to life. It certainly gave me some perspectives to situations that I wouldn't have ever considered.

Anyways, thanks Gorilla. Looking forward to your next work.

Attached: 1560667512280.jpg (386x328, 26K)

Thank you Sorachi. You call yourself a Gorilla. But no, you are the Gorilla. Thanks for Gintama and all the joy it brought me. Can not wait for your next work.

Oh and another trope that got annoying was person X shows up to fight some bad guys during one of the big battle arcs and then they fight back-to-back wth Gintoki while they talk about some stuff like the other character being late or something. I think this happened multiple times within the same episode even sometimes.

The only fault I can find in this series is the fact that Gorilla acts like Japan is the only country on Earth. It's like the rest of the planet doesn't care about alien invaders and don't lift a finger to do anything.
I can count on one hand the times we've seen non-Japanese humans.

I'm just going to stop reading. Let the zoomers have these new series and mangaka (and the ending of Berserk).

It's finally over, i'm gonna miss it so much, I loved this series a lot. Time for an OP and ED binge.

So does this chapter prove that Katsura is the the current best swordfighter?

I love this music so much

There's exactly one old chapter that hasn't gotten animated yet I think, that explains it.

What old chapter?

487

did it actually end ?

Yes, for real this time.

Yea Forums only talk about moeshit and shonen garbage like SNK , good shit never gained the attention it deserves

gintama used to be my favorite anime before but i never tried the manga , should i read it or wait for the final season ?

personally I don't discuss this series in particular until a scanlation is out, I don't want to spoil myself

idk if Kewl ever frequents this board or these threads but in case he does I want to say thank you.

may as well wait, it'll proably return this fall/winter

Gintama trending heavily earlier in JP.

Gintama went downhill after Shogun Assassination, that arc was peak Gintama.

You will be missed. Truly a God--tier anime. Desensitized me to comedy for 3 years. Goodbye old friend ;_;

The anime is unironically better, and the manga is almost completely animated anyways. But you can just read the manga.

Silver Soul and Clean Up (last arc) were pretty good imo. There was a decent amount of comedy. The Utsuro stuff inbetween Silver Soul and Shogun Assassination was kind of lame but I suppose at the end of the day the build up was worth it. At the very least we got this final resolution with Shoyou and Gintoki here.

Hasegawa won the MCbowl

Just wished... Shoyou had a bit more time to spend time with Gintoki.

;_;. Just rewatch it. I'm on my 4rth rewatch (excluding individual eps)

>Shoyou will never visit Odd Jobs Gin and see the home Gintoki has made for himself
>Shoyou will never give Shinpachi pointers on his sword technique
>Shoyou will never visit Oboro's grave at the ruins of his old dojo
>Shoyou and Gintoki will never drink sake together while they catch up
>Shoyou will never get to know Tsukuyo better and make a comment about how she would be a good fit for Gintoki

rip ;_;

I actually hoped he got more with Katsura, but at least he confirmed that Katsura was the best between the 3 students.

Well, can't believe it's actually done. Thanks for the dump.

>It's the one long-lived manga/anime series I've been following that never really turned to shit.
Amen. I do think the stuff after Shogun Assassination with Utsuro and the whole Earth-destroying apocalypse thing was a bit too large-scale for a series like Gintama but I still loved every fucking second of it, and I'm glad I got to see Gintoki and Takasugi be bros one more time.

Any news on when the final season is gonna air?
youtube.com/watch?v=WuVVb6q4jRw
I think 12 episodes might be a bit too much since there are only 18 chapters left to animate

Attached: explorer_2019-06-22_15-20-53.jpg (3840x1979, 2.37M)

I'm kind of disappointed that the "original" Yorozuya never showed up again.

You got the wrong image for Volume 59.

The last 3-4 chapters are extra long though, each easily 2-3x as long as a regular chapter.

Taka-tin never showed up again either.

Didn't notice, fixed.

So in the end, what were you favorite arcs, Yea Forums?
Popularity Poll is the best for me. It nicely combines satire, meta humour, references and character interactions nicely. Also, any arcs that involve the gorilla making fun of idols.

Agreed. Gintama does so many things right
The jokes are layered, so it's not just lol you got the reference, now laugh! (Nyaruko is most guilty of this shit, no simply reference some other works doesn't make it funny).
The series also spend more time on comedy arcs to get you to actually enjoy the company of the characters, that way you end up getting more involved when serious arcs sets in. So while it's a comedy manga first and action manga second, it's why I found the action much better than the typical battle manga: they tend to be just one major battle followed by another, so often it feels like it lacks a 'breather arc/epsiode" to let you see different sides of the characters.

Thos
Gintama died after they killed the Shogun. After that every chapter felt like a chore

When did you guys are actually start to "get" Gintama? Pretty sure a lot of you will say the hot pot episode. But maybe others "got it' in a different episode.

>Jump died too
Ah, I was missing the random jokes.

How the fuck did he manage to remain unemployed for the entire manga? Shit, dude, even Yamazaki still has a job. Well whatever, being like that seems to suit him. So, does this mean Luffy truly is the last OG in Jump? He's passed alot of comrades over the years, even the eyebrow man managed to leave before him and I just realized that Gintama now has the same number of years as Bleach and this probably means Kubo has a Gorilla stuck in his house now.

>Nobody won the Gintoki's bowl but at least Sachan got to see his dick.
>tease the readers about the possible ships
>doesn't deliver in the end
Fuck this shit. I'm glad I dropped it. Why do they always do the same? If you are not going to give your MC a love interest, don't make them fall in love with him and rub it on our faces all the time

Nobume, without a doubt.

>So in the end, what were you favorite arcs, Yea Forums?
Kabukicho 4 Devas with Courtesan of a Nation as an incredibly close second.
Honorable mention is Jail Arc, pretty great for such a short one with characters that never showed up again (except Shachi).

Jump and Shonen is dead. We will not see another Big 3 of Shonen ever again

Legit can't think of any other OGs other than Luffy. And if we're being honest, One Piece isn't going to last that much longer either, I give it 6 years max (which is pretty short for One Piece)

Tsukky ruins everything.

Fucking hell 15 years. I'm really going to miss Gintama as it was one of my consistent fall backs for whenever I needed a good laugh

i can't believe its over

The thread lasted two days with 250 comments, is ok for what Gintama is.

I mean what's to talk about? It's just your standard shonen ending of final boss defeat and then everybody lived happily ever after.

I thought Dragonball Super, Boruto and Demon Slayer and Black Clover and Boku no Hero Academia were doing super well? Oh and that Dr. Slump and We can't study thing as well, never read them but people seem to like'em enough to shit on Yea Forums alot about'em

After 15 years with them, I can only say despite the decline after Shogun’s death, it was a wild ride, and I enjoyed it. Now Gorilla needs to give attention to Dandelion.

>ma*ko
cringe

So, Gorilla ended Gintama at 704, while Kubo did it at 687.
I always felt Kubo and Oda were kinda dicks towards Sorachi. I wonder if Gorilla just wanted to give Kubo the finger before ending Gintama.

Their sales are not that good despite all the shilling

When does the anime get funny?
Or am I just too old for it.

Attached: Gintama_-_027_(BD_960x720_x264_10bit_AAC)_[E70F225C].mkv - 0001.jpg (960x720, 144K)

Is not your type of comedy or action? Just drop it and never come back.

Enjoyed it from the start but really got into it in that curry ninja arc

I wish they did a blazblue reference just to see Gintoki wearing Ragna's outfit and that ninja girl wearing Nu's

Right from the start, but then I got into manga/anime through Ranma ½, and had just finished Dr. Slump, before starting Gintama, so the toilet humor was a lot more tame compared to something like Hajime no Ippo.

Alternately, Gintama is still probably the only anime I can't marathon, since the joke-episodes are so hit-or-miss and it\'s impossible to stop in the middle of serious parts.

We're getting old.
Where did time go?

I don't get this scene.

Are the gang still alive? Is Tama seeing ghosts?

Why did the sky crack apart.

Ignore episodes 1-3, then 4 to 21 introduce the main cast. I watched first 30 episodes while doing my chores, so yes I wasn’t paying attention to some of the episodes, but many of them caught my attention that I stoped doing my work to watch it, to me that’s how Gintama works. Is like spending time with roomies and suddenly at some point you are comfortable to pay enough attention and then you even invest your time in them.

Attached: Tokyo-Encounter-14-(guest-Shimono-Hiro)-Eng-subs.avi_snapshot_15.18.jpg (480x378, 58K)

It was a big joke, Gorilla was mocking the typical narrator in many manga/anime endings who tries to summarize the plot and characters in a hurried, cheesy way. In this case we got multiplied and non reliable narrators lying and wasting pages. One of them was Madao who pretended he was the only survivor aside Tamas. That’s why the Yorozuya kicked him, for being an edgelord.

I miss Sugita.

Now we waste for bintama. I mena we already have bakasugi.

Don't be sad, he's in at least one show per season, he stole the show in RobiHachi.

when does it get funny?

The final scene suggests that it was just some bad data that she got from Hasegawa telling small Tama a story.

Nothing will EVER be able to top Gintama for me.

They probably ignored them since they left to abroad so if they returned in a more serious story they'd need to deal with whatever happened to the rest of the world, something Sorachi clearly wanted to avoid.

Episode 25 shows a lot of the style of humor that dominates later Gintama. If you don't find it funny drop it there.

I actually got it during the Yoshiwara arc. Probably only realized that I love it during the Jirouchou storyline. With how stupid they act 99% of the time, those chapters where they get all serious really made me feel it, even though the dialogue can be cheesy as fuck.

Thanks for the laughs Gorilla-sensei. See you next time.

Bleach have around 15 or 20 chapters with a negative counting (-110, -109, -16, -17, etc, in Turn Back the pendulum arc especially) so it's 687 + those negative chapters, and going by some comments and other stuff, it seems Kubo and Sorachi get along very well

Sorachi is actually based for doing this. Altough I have to say I'm a little sad that he didn't make Kondo and Otae canon.

I've dismissed the series as Nip Family Guy for good reason but congrats on the ending

Why would you want her to end up with that gorilla stalker?

I wanted the gorilla couple to happen.

Her final panel was getting teased about gintoki. That was nice

Is Shogun Assassination/Farewell Shinsengumi the peak of manga/anime?
Never have enjoyed the medium as much as the day I spent binge-watching all 17(?) episodes

This one is really great
youtu.be/-YgeQvUfPJk

For Gintama: Shippuden

It's just banter, bro.

Ditto

Imagine getting 703 chapters in and being like "nah, I don't want to finish this".

>the series as Nip Family Guy for good reason
Except there is no good reason for this.

the joke is that there will be a sequel soon

i can feel it

>That’s why the Yorozuya kicked him, for being an edgelord.
My sides.

I don't know what chapter I was on but it was after that Silver Soul arc. It was when I realized that Gintama has every shonen trope I hate and became disgusted with it.

There will never be anything like Gintama. A series with characters and even an author so beloved by the public that is part of japanese culture. Gorilla knew when to end it and it finished with dignity, without that shitty half-assed Naruto/Bleach kind of finale. I'm a little bit sad for my Okikagu but respect Sorachi's desition. Godspeed Gintama.

Sequel is possible but would have to be after 1869

Tama's name is part of the title.

Doesn't that make her the winner?

Can she get pregnant though?

>Can she get pregnant though?
Not with THAT attitude!

At least Sorachi reverted to original designs. Can make doujins treated as canon

Attached: 82B65BAB_B2C8_4335_8617_01785CA5144B.jpg (980x1393, 148K)

I'm glad there were no confirmed pairings in the end, it would have gone against the soul of Gintama otherwise.
Though truth be told I wanted a harem end, but this is fine.

>sequel is set just 1 week after the final chapter

ep 7 - Otsu's intro

I think she really is in a future without the yorozuya, that's why she cries

I thought it was because one of the characters with a real damage was Tama, that's why she has no memories of the las battle, so that's why Chibitama is providing the input about what happened, with new data of those moments.

It isn't. The whole point of the last chapter is that various characters are fucking up with loli Tama's save files, who thus in turn end up giving various fucked up accounts to Tama.

Yes.

Except there's no way any of the characters in-universe would know what Tokyo is before Edo's name was changed.

This is an alt world, not our world. They don't need to 'know' what tokyo is, they could be the ones who decide to come up with the name tokyo themselves.

I put random episodes to watch, damn It hasn’t dated at all, Gintama will be one of those things ayyylmao would find after we destroy each other.

When Gin-san had to help Shinpachi save Otae from the dept collector alien, who was going to force her to work in a flying restaurant wearing shitty highcut swimsuit costumes.

From the beginning, I guess, I don't really remember.

So apparently there is a pilot one-shot. Was it ever translated? Also, it seems like it's what was adapted as the first three episodes of the anime (maybe, I'm not sure).

>smile status: retrieved
>you are not alone
im satisfied

Attached: Gintamavol01cover.jpg (220x346, 29K)

I was shown a random ep, it was the one with the first appearance of Jet Armstrong. Was pretty much instant like because it amused me so much. On proper watch from beginning the more I saw the more it became my all time favorite.

youtube.com/watch?v=QEOpQfdeTzQ

The melodrama is just too much and it only grows towards the end. It works best when it's just simple, carefree arcs of nonsense strung together with a large cast coming and going. The town feels alive and the cast is charming.

But fuck the drama is just pure cheese, Gorilla can't write it for the life of him. I feel like the Fujoshi who flock to it eat it up like gravy though.

I lova Kagura

IIRC, in the manga there isn’t really a pilot one-shot, but the two first anime episodes were fillers

>Gorilla knew when to end it and it finished with dignity
Hell no, Gintama became a walking corpse. Sorachi overused the fake ending so much that the manga ended up in a monthly magazine
I couldn't get past the hundreds of fights that followed the same fucking formula
>strong alien enemy appears
>penis jokes and nudity pixel censorship in between
>character is "killed"
>lol jk plot armor saved him/her/it and alien is dead instead

Pretty genius last chapter though. Man, MAN, this could have been the perfect manga but it dragged a little bit at the end, just a little bit, still one of the greatest of all time, I'm gonna miss it a lot.

Attached: 1428265193603.png (507x374, 404K)

Gintama had lost a lot of manga sales. At its peak the series had a first print of 650,000 copies and the last volumes barely reached the 200,000 copies. It seems people was already tired of it.
The anime has gone of reaching around 20,000 copies by DVD sales when the anime started, to 6,000 or 5,000 between DVD and BD.
I wonder why at least the success of the 2 live actions movies didn't affected the manga sales.
The Gintama anime has always been more popular than the manga, but I find it strange that people who saw the movies and liked them didn't want to buy the manga

He didn't end up in the monthly magazine because of the fake ending though. It didn't even fake that much, he simply said it's "gonna be in the final arc" too soon. He then realized that he wanted to let every character let loose in the final arc (and in the epilogue arc), which took an incredible amount of chapters with the huge cast.

Wrong. Gintama went to a new mag because he had more chapters to end the series with than was already given. There was already another series that's set to replace Gintama at a certain time. If anything, Gintama's success is why he actually managed to simply move to another magazine and continue. Otherwise, you either end on that given date/allocated number of chapters, or that's it.

I liked Gintama, I never really loved it
the fights were great, the comedy was good though there were some running jokes which I got bored of very quickly, I liked most of the characters
there were times when it fall flat: I wish there'd been more world-building, the sci-fi aspect seemed more like background noise with the main attraction being Gin and Utsuro's relationship
the end pretty much pushes the reset button and everything goes back to the way it was like in the Forever Yorozuya movie
You could say that on one hand it is good because this ensures that everything stays the same but on the other hand I can see that soem people out there wish for more change instead of going back to status quo
I think I'd give the whole series 7/10

at least kamui still has his hair and Abuto looks better with shorter hair

Attached: 65899820_p0.png (623x1024, 311K)

Gintama worked better as a comedy manga with some fight arcs every 50 chapters, but Sorachi turned it into a battle shonen manga that was stuck in a perpetual final battle arc for years. It became too serious
He overused the fake ending quite a lot of times
You didn't prove me wrong. Guess why there was a manga set to replace Gintama? It was ranking almost at the bottom of the WSJ and the volume sales were garbage because the readers got tired of it

How about you stop making shit up. Sorachi initially announced he was going to end it last year. You can go back and check the manga releases too, it was announced right then and there that he originally intended to end LAST YEAR. That was the ORIGINAL plan, hence why there was a manga set to replace it, because again, it was originally SUPPOSED to have ended last year.

He ended up not being able to end it last year, hence the move. This is not some special situation if you actually follow a bunch of other manga and pay attention to announcements and release schedules. Dorohedoro for example, was in a similar situation. Originally announced to everyone that it was set to end at a certain volume, author realized she still had more things to add, requested for extension and granted.

Schedules are a pretty big deal in this world of manga, and the fact that JUMP gave Sorachi the chance to end it on GIGA should be proof enough that they tried to support him as much as possible. You keep saying "overused the fake ending" yet he literally just did it once, moving to GIGA was just a funny transition he took advantage of and then he came out with the whole app deal after that, so your "overused fake ending" was just a one time thing.

Fucking Gorilla WHERE IS MY HASEGAWA REDEMPTION THAT YOU PROMISED?!

Yeah, he could gave at least MADAO a job at the end

>putting Nobume closest to gin-chan to kills any shipping
Based gorilla

>no shipping
>no redemption for Madao
Why did he need so many chapters to end if he wasn't going to resolve the plot points of the manga?

The gorilla once said that he will only finish Gintama when he gives Madao something good, right?

How come Otohime and the other underwater people never showed up again?

Madao became a superstar and extremely rich, he wrecked it all again sure, but he got it, and he got his moment in the SS arc.

>he wrecked all again
That's just returning to the status quo, something comedies do

Yeah I know, which is precisely why I have 0 problems with the ending.

I don't see how returning to status quo is a bad thing when that was literally what everyone was fighting for

It's fucking shit when everyone else's status quo is have a decent, somewhat ok peaceful life while Madao's status quo is to be a pathetic hobo.

Just a gag, Madao lived a rich life for over 2 years, he saved the world. It's all OK

See ya later space odd jobs

Gura best girl.

Be Forever Yoruzuya

Nah, I would've liked a harem route in one of the fake endings. Hasegawa or kyunei getting all the girls, or shinpachi's glasses getting them.

I just wanted to see Taka-tin one last time.

Thanks user. I guess One Piece is the oldest now. What was the second oldest now?

Attached: salute.jpg (1280x720, 43K)

I'm really glad that Sorachi finally managed finish Utsuro saga, but i will miss the Gintama a lot. It's even kinda sad, Gintama was the thing that seriously got me into the anime back when season 1 was airing. Hope that gorilla will return with a new comedy soon
youtube.com/watch?v=-S9cLAUZWZc

One Piece was the oldest anyway, what are you on? Gintama started in 2004.

Taka-tin, Hey!

Well, I directly loved the series since episode 3

Time is money.

Imo, Gintama has one of the best fandoms. Sure, it’s obviously not perfect all the time, but generally threads on Yea Forums are pretty much good

>I actually hoped he got more with Katsura, but at least he confirmed that Katsura was the best between the 3 students.
???

see >My brightest student
I'm gonna take it as Katsura #1, even among monsters like Takasugi and Gintoki, Shoyou called Katsura the brightest prodigy.
Our final Dragon Ball reference in this series.

My problem with Gintama's fandom is the people who like serious arcs more than the comedy and always go on about how heart wrenching every sad scene is on YouTube.

Yeah, but generally some of these people might have drop the show a long time ago
Since they only wanted to watch Gintama for the serious moments.
>"When does it get serious?"

>implying he won't marry both Tama-chan and Nobume

I WANNA BE

HAITE SUTECHIMATTE

So much at the bottom, you don't see her.

>Sorachi is a MADAO now

I understand why he prolonged the ending for so long.

>704 chapters
I saw up to episode 10 of the first anime and got bored.

>people who like serious arcs more than the comedy
Just shonenfags and Tsukkyfags.

>Tsukkyfags
How so? Is it because she mostly appears in serious arcs?

Here's my idea for an omake:
>Gin-san is tied up in bed
>all the girls (including loli Tama, but not including Kagura) are getting ready to have sex with him
>cut to Shinpachi and Kagura in another room, doing their best to ignore his screams of terror
>Kagura berates Shinpachi for still being a cherry boy

Farewell Shinsengumi arc is underrated. That moment when Gintoki freezes after seeing Shouyo's face is kino.

fuck no, what series have you been reading?

Most serious shippers? Gintoki x Tsukuyou and Kagura x Okita fans are the only one complaining about a a status quo end I think.

>tfw no Otsu in final chapter

God I love the OP so much, for the ED Hana Ichi Monme and Acchi Muite are great.

youtube.com/watch?v=KdLeo6nOwOg
Only natural to watch this after reading the final chapter. Which is your favorit?
For me it's #2, #8, #11, #14, #17, #20, #25, #26. Fuck me, they're all good...

They are really all great. Even the OP.

All the EDs of Gintama are god tier, so are the OPs except 2 and 4, for me at least.

Every single one made under Sunrise, they have great taste. Took a little nosedive after the switch, but some were still good like the one(s?) by DOES.

The best OP and ED were both by Spyair though, didn't the switch happen on Gintama' (2011)?

The only serious arc I liked was the Benizakura arc.

Spyair was indeed top, but they already did Sakura Mitsutsuki and Samurai Heart (Some like it hot) before the switch.

>Oboro, the strongest swordsman in the series

>Yamazaki 6th
A LITERAL NO NAME IN FRONT OF TWO OF THE THREE MAIN CHARACTERS

Where do you guys come from? Is Gintama popular in your country?
In France, it’s not really popular as DBZ, One Piece, Bleach, Naruto or HxH, but it still have a quite large amount of fans.

Yamazaki is based

I’m surprised, though
Since Gorilla never let the chance to Yamazaki to be in a manga cover
(Even in the finale one!)

My favorites ED are 17, 11, 7, 18, 5, 25, 3, 8, 24, 27.

Come on Sorachi.

Attached: Meme couple list slowly becoming real.png (1199x1226, 1.26M)

...A comedy manga? One that would totally pull that shit if it could, now that it's ended?

The U.S. It's only really popular among fujos and rabid shippers (at least as far as I can tell).

One Piece and Hunter x Hunter are the only pre-2010 Jump manga left now. The third oldest is Haikyuu which started in 2012. It's kind of sad

GINTAMAAAAAN

Never noticed how well drawn the nipple is.

This. The only ED I don’t really like is «Candy Line», and it’s sung by the same band that made «Wo Ai Ni» (which is one of my favorite ones)

Wo Ai Ni and Samurai Heart are my all time favorites.

only official OTP is Madao/misery
I am sorry user but you can still look at pretty fanart and read fanfics to sooth your aching heart

Kinda weird to have two manga from the 90s, but none from the 00s.

gintama is known for "ending" several times, so people are more numb to it

I didn't think it would actually happen this time.

This ED is so calm and relaxing, one of my favorites.

Gintama doesn't work with super long battle shonen arcs like those we got at the end. The series could have handled the Shogun Assassination arc, and maybe one other long arc live the silver soul arc to wrap things up.

I especially like that part with Katsura and Elizabeth walking in the distance, very comfy.

All the budget of this episode went on the nipples.

Boy who cried wolf

7 is the dumbest one.

There is no Yamazaki here . That's sad.

Exactly, Gintama was supposed to be a parody comedy, but for some reason the Gorilla decided to turn it into the thing he made fun of for years, a battle shonen that tried too hard to be serious. But the art couldn't keep up with the fights as well as other battle shonens

>the Gorilla decided to turn it into the thing he made fun of for years, a battle shonen that tried too hard to be serious
So that's why final enemy generals were taken out by pooping, barfing and dick punching.

>manga ends the same way it began
I'm glad I never picked up this garbage

At least he didn't went back from not settling Gintama with any girl.

There's your problem.

So when is the announcement for Gintama Z?

That's exactly what he wanted.

Soon, user, soon.
Just let the Gorilla take a break, he deserves it
Or he’ll become a cheeseburger, like he wanted!

>nothing changed from ch1 to the last ch
Absolutely based.

Just like your life.

>Sorachi is actually based for doing this.
That's the normal and common thing to do though. If anything I'm not sure why people expected something different.

>no "everyone is stronger now but so are the enemies so there's no real difference" timeskip
>no power creep faggotry
Based gorilla.

So what was up with Kagura constantly shifting between a little girl and an old granny? It seemed to be a technique that her brother taught her, but what was the point of it? Aside from the joke where she pretended to be Shinpachi's daughter, and Sougo accused her of being Gintoki and Kagura's daughter.

For lolifags and oldfuckers

It's a joke about timeskips.

I'm going to miss those Gintama threads bros ;___; they were always so comfy compared to the rest of the board.

Nothing wrong with that

Sunk cost fallacy. Cope

Well that was pretty lame but expected. There was no way he was going to pull off anything satisfying after this clusterfuck of the last few years. I liked the chapter before this so this one doesn't matter as much. In the end it makes sense that a nostalgiafag like Sorachi would maintain the status quo rather than do anything daring or controversial because he remembers all other Jump manga nostalgically himself and wants the same done with his.

Four Devas was nice too.

The girls getting ready to have sex with Gintoki? I can't even imagine it.
Fucking love it

Imagine, as the sky starts to crack, PRAY starts playing
>Yo, Still half asleep, Tama?

What a stupid way to classify "Jump manga". Gintama was already booted out of Jump a year ago. If manga that started in Jump but are still ongoing elsewhere count (as you think Gintama does) you have things like D.Gray-man, World Trigger, Jojo, Captain Tsubasa, Kinnikuman, etc.

Gintama moved to JUMP giga for like 6 chapters, almost 700 on WSJ.

Either it stops being a Jump manga when it leaves Jump or it doesn't. If it doesn't, all those other manga still exist. It also got kicked out of Jump Giga, these final three chapters were published through the Gintama app. The volume will be the first time they are available physically because people got tired of wasting resources on the Gorilla.

Sure sure, but he got to end it the way he wanted to while taking all the time he needed, that's all that matters at the end doesn't it?

I think he was lucky that so many people were willing to bend over backwards to accommodate his flaws. Jump editorial has definitely changed. I personally would have preferred a good concise ending over this because I would have liked him to return with something new. But now, who cares. I don't see how he will ever return in a satisfying manner. While other Jump legends were forced into being one-note by editorial making them extend their manga until they gave up on the industry, Sorachi chose to do it to himself.

garbage ends up being garbage what a twist

If there's going to be a new season, the new OP will have a hard time topping I Wanna Be. That song felt like a total finale.

Exactly what I was thinking.

If it were me I'd just reuse the song with new visuals.

What will be the Boruto of Gintama?

Yeah that's not gonna happen, and I don't want it either, a new and even better OP would be great, or at least a fine one.

Chinama

Kintama...Oh wait a second.

A meh ending for the meh series Gintama came to be.

Gintama is an absolute failure of a series to me and I have no idea how can real fans still like it. I have been watching the anime years before it got picked CR with the slow subs of Rumbel. First 201 episodes were overall amazing and great fun, still my favorite anime series ever, from the thousands I have watched all my life. The problems is that fom there on it just went downhill, especially after 252. The "serious" shite is a complete joke of writing and there was just too much of it. Sorachi just sucks at it. The anime losing Takamatsu, not even as an advisor to be around, completely killed its direction too. Fujita is a complete hack. The series at first was suppose to be a shitty samurai action drama that the editor wanted, but it became the great comedy and world we all know. Only to eventually revert to the shitty action drama. I don't know if Sorachi became too blinded and thought of himself as a literature genius or just tried his best to milk it, because he has been completely drained by the series artistically. He went to so many different topics with it even doing something new he will just end up repeating the settings and jokes he has already done. Other big series ending years before his also probably made him realize that when he is done he is going to be done for good, so better milk it. The braindead fanbase didn't help to prevent the downfall.

In Spain it's not really popular, but somehow we were able to see the first live-action film in cinemas. I don't know how it did but apparently it did well since lately many people have been asking for Gintama to be published again (it was published many years ago but it was cancelled). But obviously, nobody is interested in a 77-volume manga

>JUMP COMICS printed on volume cover
>it's not because I say so

French user here
The manga sells pretty much well, I guess but we’re obviously a little bit far from Japanese release (The manga is currently at issue 56)

>braindead fanbase
How so? Just because some fans still enjoyed the series until the end? Don’t get me wrong, you have obviously the right to think that Gintama turned to utter shit (like a lot of anons here; how surprising), but just let people still like the series if they want, ffs. This is just ridiculous

It has some fans in Germany, but not nearly enough to be really successful. Manga publisher once published a post, where they explained why they increased the cost. It barely sells enough to be profitable and the 6 month plus the 7€ price tag is necessary to keep publishing. We did get the movies though. And you can also buy the anime.

The anime also airs on TV here on a small channel which surprised me a lot when I heard about it.

>shinpachi is 8
wtf is this magic

This is even a stupider argument. Not only do the manga I mentioned say Jump Comics on the cover, so do plenty of manga that never ran in WSJ.

This is Shinpachi’s curse

Gintama: Next Generations

i'll wait for the animu.

>JUMP Comics(ジャンプコミックス Janpu Comikkusu) is used as an imprint label for publishing manga, most often for collected tankōbon volumes of manga series originally serialized in Weekly ShōnenJumpand otherJump magazines.
According to you it got kicked out both of WSJ and Giga so why does the final volume cover say JUMP COMICS?

>tfw could never really properly get into the manga because half the fun for me really is the god tier voice acting of the anime
I know I'm a fucking pleb, but is it likely that this will be animated to the finale even though it goes against the principle of what anime is for? Or should I just bite the bullet and catch up with the manga?

The show gets gradually better. The first ~20 eps are all slow introductionary material. The 2nd season cranks up quality a lot.

Naruto and Gintama,,,

I watched till the end of the last season of anime, should I just read the rest or wait for another season?

Pretty much this.
I started watching the show in late 2016 while doing some mundane and monotonous jobs of mine, and it helped me sit thru' the kinda weak start. I'd already tried to get into the show some decade earlier, but it really didn't catch my interest back then.

By the time S2 starts, shit really gets real, and the oddjobs' fags feel like your old homies. The jokes are hit or miss, but I laughed my ass off several times. The SRS arcs can hit surprisingly hard at best.

I think is almost a good sign: shitposters were usually ignored, pedos were usually heavily ignored, you could actually discuss with waifufags, fujos kept their cool. Gintama knew how to control its fanbase. And that’s is something hard to find nowadays.

>That Ichigo
>That Gon
All my keks

15 years making a manga, and then thinking about the next one? I think Gorilla is one of the few who actually is against of that type of slavery but who knows how poor he is right now (kek). If anything, Sorachi moving twice is a hint that someone there wanted to give a proper closure to Gintama aside the mangaka himself. I doubt he got a seppuku as an artist. He wasn’t axed or dropped they went to the point of moving it twice, they were experimenting with something and they somehow did it right for what it was instead of throwing a tantrum and blaming the mangaka. That says a lot of Sorachi. See, he didn’t even Abe’d any of the girls.

Wonder when we get next series where the Main character isn't a fucking kid.

It ended.
Finally I can read it.
I hate it when I have to wait for next chapter.

Daring like fucking what? Everyone gets married endings are a diamond dozen. And before all this Utsuro fake ending shit everyone expected Gintoki to die.

Has anyone already seen the live-action movies? Are they worth-watching?

I only watched the Shinsengumi Crisis one on a plane. It was an interesting take since they decided to combine like 3 different arcs. I'd say it's worth watching if you stumble upon it but not really worth going out of your way for.

Last arc left me feeling really disillusioned with the series to be honest, but the final two chapters were actually nice. Probably gonna wait a while to read the whole thing again. Gintama is a top 5 series for me.

>you were born in the late 1990s
Early 80s. The average age on Yea Forums is 20 at most. I'm old.

The Scandal arc have some of the best jokes

What kind of manga by Gorilla would you like to see after Gintama?

Another comedy, without any need for seriousness.

I want him to continue one of his one-shot (all are gold btw) preferably the excorcist girl

IIRC he said ages ago that if he does another manga he wants it to be in a school setting. It'd probably be for the best too.

Dandelion, I think that would be a comfy story.

>Manga, where the main antagonist is an immortal guy, didn't end in time.
>This thread is still alive
Gintama is cursed, right?

What else did the mangaka do? Why is he called gorilla?

>Why is he called gorilla?

He drew himself to look like a gorilla in one of those filler end pages and that just sorta stuck from then on.

Yeah, he wanted to make an “Harry Potter-like” story, if I’m not mistaken

I liked the open ending and I think it fits the episodic nature of gintama. I just wished Hasegawa returned to his wife. After the timeskip, I wonder why didn't he return and thought Gorilla-sensei is saving it for the ending but he still remained a Madao.

Yeah, he’s doomed to be a Madao apparently kek

Still surprised by the size of Kyubei’s tits

Gintama is blessed, user.

When gintoki tricked gorilla by cheating in the duel for Otae's heart or whatever. Hot pot episode sucked imo, felt like a drag.

I don't trust gorilla. Gintama Super is inbound. This and To Love Ru will keep coming back until the end of time.

bump
it's the last chapter, we gotta at least get to the bump limit

I blame Gorilla for turning To Love Ru super interesting.

Kondo got the most amazing pair anyway.

>ywn see Madao bloom
Gorilla, if there ever is a time for spin-offs, it's now!

>tfw Gorilla's next project is Madao: road of Gintama live action. But is actually a good movie with zero msnga/anime references.

Would definitely watch.

What happened with DOES?

DOES?

Still on hiatus, I think, unfortunately. At least I don't recall seeing recent news

They made the early OPs and EDs

Ah, I have a soft spot for the first ED, it's really nice.

DONTEN NO MICHIYO
KASA WO WASURETTE

Boruto? It practically counts as Naruto.

The best part of Gintama was the gay doujins

Donten is one of my favorites.

Shut up Haradafag.

I prefer 3745HOUSE

Post doujin that are surprisingly in-character
e-hentai.org/g/645327/e48e27353a/

ARUKU KANOJO WA
AME NI OBIETERU

gintama 2

None of the gay ones, that's for sure (except for that one non-h borderline-h one)

Which one is that

Which death hit you the hardest?

Sho-chan’s death ;_;

Gintama's

It's been translated. Don't remember the name, can't be assed to look it up again.

Does it still count now that it moved out of the magazine?

Shogun because that actually killed Gintama’s soul too.

It’s been a while that a Gintama thread didn’t reach the bump limit
Nice thread, guys and see ya another time.

It's been a real ride, thanks for everything, gorilla.

Has Gintama ever re-released the older seasons in 720p or above? I really enjoy the old Genshiken subs from back in the day, but the quality is a relic of its time now.

You'll enjoy watching it in 240p or you won't watch it at all

Ahh, the thread is almost archived, had a fun times bros. Time to leave Gintama behind, until the final anime season at least.

See you soon, Gintamafags. I bet we are getting last season announcement pretty soon.

You mean the airdate, right? It was confirmed a while ago.

see you space yorozuya
glad i got to experience this
