Animeonly here and up until now giorno is the most boring protag. Jonathan was a lot less complex but his unwavering beliefs made him likeable while giorno is a generic good guy with muh dream that gets new bs abilities every 2 episodes the only good thing abt him is that he isn’t afraid of killing the shit out of people. Ill start reading the manga when the anime ends i hope the next protags keep up the killing

Yeah, Giorno seemed really interesting for the first few chapters. Someone who had a sense of righteousness like Jonathan, but was fine with killing enemies even if it wasn't necessary, like DIO. Then Araki does his usual thing of finding the side characters more interesting to write.

That sounds interesting, i heard the body gore get cranked up to 11 in stone ocean but just bc something has gore doesnt mean its dark. What im hoping for is more stuff like giorno making polpo shoot himself or the gang actually getting donuted along the way
Yeah i really liked the villains in this part theyre all extremely memorable, funny and interesting although pesci was annoying as fuck i was still totally invested in him trying to be better, cioccolatas and seccos dom x sub play was hilarious but it never made me think of them as unthreatening. Despite my issues with the part i still enjoyed it a lot and my respect for araki has grown even more.

Don't worry, Jolyne is one of the best JoJo's. She's basically female Jotaro but you actually see how she becomes a female Jotaro. Johnny has the most development out of all JoJo characters and he doesn't have the "golden heart" of previous protagonists, he's a sarcastic asshole who's probably just as evil as his universe's Dio. Part 8's Josuke (aka "Gappy") is an amnesiac Sailor an full of strange quirks. As the part progresses, he becomes less quirky and more serious, but he's still an interesting character and I hope you'll enjoy him too. So yeah, Giorno is the most boring protagonist and people would like him more if he was a side character.

Bruno is a better character than Joseph in literally every regard, though. He's more clever (and his cleverness isn't fully dependent on asspulls), his stand is cooler, his backstory is more interesting, his motivations are more interesting, his interactions with his supporting cast are better. Bruno is the best mom and one of the best characters in the series.

Diavolo is paranoid, he went after the ones who could detect him first. Though if he killed Narancia while already being inside of Mista, it would have made more sense to kill Giorno, the one that could detect souls, or life energies, or whatever he felt

I see people say this a lot and it seems like he's very popular in the fanbase at large. Is Joseph better in the manga or something? I'm an animeonly but I didn't particularly like him (or Part 2 in general). In terms of protagonists he's better than Giorno but I would surely rank him lower than Jonathan, Jotaro, and Josuke.
