The hunt continues

I’ve been hunting down a manga for a period of four days now. The name was a mystery, because for a while, all I had was the link below to go on. (I will note that I have seen some other people talk about this manga as well)

imgur.com/a/B8GmGWf
(warning, the dark elf is nekkid)

After continuous hunting, someone pointed out that in two of the pages, there were chinese letters up above two of the pages, and this eventually lead to the discovery of the name, author, and a chinese version printed in 1995.

manhuagui.com/comic/15366/154153.html#p=1 is the Chinese version.

mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=30415 is my source for information.

Saga of Dragon , or, Saga of the Dragon
By MASUDA Haruhiko
Original Publisher
Square Enix (1993)
Takarajimasha (1990)

So I want to find the original version. Thing is, when I went to make an account at mangaupdates, I noticed this line;
NOTE: WE ARE NOT A DOWNLOAD OR READING SITE. Please do not join if you"re looking for either of these.

I am also convinced that some changes were made, not just by language. If you compare the dark elf in the imgur and manhuagui links above, you will notice something; in the manhuagui version, she has a tail. I do not know if this is because the guy who posted up the imgur link edited all of those images (doubtful when you look at it), but I want to find the original releases.

The original releases, according to the mangaupdates site, were from Square Enix and Takarajimasha.

Square Enix, according to this link publications.na.square-enix.com/us/top/index.html, does not support browsing old manga anymore, and I have no idea what to do with Takarajimasha.

SO: I turn to you, and yes I know that Yea Forums is not my private search board. But I am lost. I have no idea where to go from here, as this manga is the first time I have ever looked for old mangas. What do I do? What do I search for?

fantastic autism. monitoring.

You have no idea how hard i have this dark elf on the brain right now. Not helping that i'm currently listening to Daughter of the Drow on audiobook and i'm getting all kinds of writing ideas.

What do you want, OP? Just a copy of the manga? You can buy it from online Japanese bookstores that carry used books. Check the wiki in the buyfag thread for details on how to do that.

I'm looking for anything and everything i can get my hands on. That said, an English translation would not be unwelcome since i dont speak a lick of Japanese. If i can save money and find an original in an online format, so much the better.

Not available in digital anywhere. You're gonna have to buy it and scan it and then get lucky enough to find a ground that's interested.

>That said, an English translation would not be unwelcome since i dont speak a lick of Japanese.
That is something you won't find. Mangaupdates is a database of scanlations, and if no groups are listed on its entry, then in all likelihood no one has scanlated it yet.
You can always learn Japanese, like I had to >20 years ago before scanlations existed.
>If i can save money and find an original in an online format, so much the better.
Usually no one uploads raws for such an old manga, especially since a lot of public raw provider websites have gone offline in the past year. A quick web search didn't reveal anything for me. I don't see an ebook version on the online Japanese bookstores either. You'll have to buy a used physical copy if you really want it.

So i'm looking for a physical copy of a one-off that, odds are, was only published two languages. Right.

Seriously hope i can get this for less than 10 bucks just so i dont raise eyebrows. (i have no idea what price this thing is gonna be)

You obviously haven't even started looking yet. It's not as hard to find as you think. Go read the buyfag guide and start from there.

Thank you.

I'm going thru the wiki, and going to pages. What does this book qualify as? Manga or Doujin?

i think it's pretty obvious OP is an autist without any money or willingness to spend it to get what he wants. he made this thread to have his obscure manga delivered to him scanned and translated because he has no idea how anything in life works. stop treating him like a person.

Yeah, sometimes I'm way too helpful to people who don't deserve it. It's a bad habit.

Resigned to paying monies. Such is the price of autism. If its not scanned, i'll have to do it myself.

Huh. It helps if you use サーガオブドラゴン instead of Saga of Dragon.

Wow, you really want that Drow girl.

Bring it up with the Lost Media Wiki. They're complete autists for stuff like this.

It's not even that hard to find.

Thank you.

On a side note, i've found the damn thing being sold. Just gotta find the cheepest route. What the hell is paperback shinesho.... *google images*

Obligatory thirsty drow who wants mage's dick.

Yeah, but she dies, quite horribly too.

MISSED OPPROTUNITIES. I cannot stop rewriting this whole damn story in my head.

If i do the legwork and upload the damn thing, are there people willing to translate everything? I may get tunnel vision, but there is no way i'm going to learn an entire language just to translate a single manga. There has to be someone who is bilingual and willing.

>I was reading this ADnD fanmanga called "Legacy of the Dragon" or something based off of some Jap's DnD adventure (translated into Chink, but my Chinese is pretty shit). Premise is is that a red dragon named Gimberg is terrorizing some a set of viking/norse themed kingdoms, so a group of adventurers set out to stop him. Pretty classic adventuring group too; there's Vaud the exile, an anti-hero rogue and MC, a socially awkward prettyboy mage named Russel who is probably the most competent party member (if this was a modern anime, he'd be the MC), a barbarian/fighter named Grimm who wants to die a glorious death in the name of Good, the cleric and main heroine, who happens to be the princess of a land the dragon wiped out and who's name I forgot, and a Dwarven smith. They seek a magical sword that will nullify the dragon's magic and allow them to kill it.

>The enemy they end up dealing with most is Eraflova (?) the Drow, Gimberg's minion guarding the sword (the dragon can't pick it up, destroy it, or even be around it, so had his minions defending it). At some point, she develops a huge crush on Russel since he keeps foiling her/fighting her to a draw (also because she's likely lonely being stuck in the forest with the sword). She shows up to one battle naked (her magical necklace provided all the protection she needed anyways), and after fighting/flirting with Russel, attempts to seduce him. She even says that she'll let the party keep the sword if she gets to sleep with the mage, and that they can watch over it if they don't trust him with her. Of course, the party flips out anyways (probably thinking about XP they'd lose), and the mage rejects her advances. After the third rejection, where he says no one would want to sleep with an evil, repulsive Drow harlot, she gets turbomad, saying that this is a humiliation she cannot stand, and attacks. Russel manages to overpower her ice storm though and incinerate her.

Commission someone to do it.

Not the above poster. That was the guy who inadvertently sent me down this rabbit hole. I'll look into the link here though.

Her name is Herflowova?

Manga. A Doujin is shorter is a not published by any company, it's self published.

>A Doujin is shorter
Not necessarily.
