So what did Yea Forums think?
AOTS but at the same time worst Ikuhara
Ikuni netflix anime when?
Ikuhara’s worst is still better than most people’s best lbr
The worst ikuni show by far, which is like a 6/10
I will always miss Chikai. Also his voice acting in episode 10 was really good.
This was perfect.
But what did ア mean?
Me too anikibro. He'll live on in our hearts ;_;
I will always love him and yeah I love the combination of TsudaKen and Uchiyama together.
Cops' story was pretty cool, but I think we could have used all that screentime to flesh out shotas better.
Not bad, but disappointing. Ikuhara should go back to lesbians.
Now that's it's over, which character did you fap the most to?
Reasonably enjoyable but my least favorite Ikuhara work. If the fujobucks get him a 2 cour show I'll be glad.
Kazuki really has to be straight to pass this up.
I'm struggling to decide between Reo or Mabu's versions of the Super Groupies watch. Anyone else here buying any overpriced gay /fa/shit?
It was still pretty meh in general.
Even undercooked Revue Starlight did a better job with directing transformation and metaphorical fights.
It was visually boring, I didn't want to rewatch any scene for more than once
Black is easier the match.
Mabu.
Enta is literally the cutest any guy would be lucky to have him as a boyfriend. His only problem is how obsessive he might get but he can channel that into healthy devotion as he grows
>to
>never got a big moment episode unlike Kazuki, Toi and the cops
>his miçanga getting lost was just treated as a joke
>felt like the trio's odd one out
At least he had great character development and grew up really well, but he felt really shafted. Hope he gets a nice boyfriend.
It is, and I generally prefer black and silver things, but the Reo color scheme matches the actual design of Mabu's heart better. The warm gold appeals to me even though I usually don't care for gold at all.
When you thought his onii chan was ugly at first but he's very cute and had a tragic but fitting arc.
He had a few similarities to Spanner from KHR who was my husbando as a child. His name isn't as big as the other seiyuu in the cast but he fit this role really well so I'm glad he was in it and did well.
Enta.
>tfw doujinshi anthology up on Tora
best boy, of course
Kazuki's into chads only.
I still don't know what a miçanga is supposed to be
it's the wifi-like antenna connecting them
entafags are so annoying
Even the poorly characterized and sometimes schizophrenic Sarazanmai's cast was better than the lifeless husks of Starlight.
Get that if you're just collecting.
meant for
shippingfags made these the least fun ikuhara threads for sure
How did Ikuhara manage to fuck up doing a homo show?
Cope
can you guys just spam on /cm/
*enta self inserters
Jesus Christ how horrifying
I legitimately want some porn of these abominations. Sara pegging Keppi, please and thank you.
I enjoyed Isekai Quartet way more than this
and I am not happy about it
*beautiful
Enta's voice sounds pleasantly mature in "future" and the last scene.
Yes, you are right but the characters were from novels and manga and I was talking more about the direction/visual and music composition/ this kind of stuff instead of plot and characters that weren't Ikuhara's to begin with.
This shit is visually more interesting than kappas and balls from the ass youtu.be
It was better and more engaging than YKA so I put it a bit above that but below Utena and Penguindum. I also stopped at 7 of YKA when it was airing and then came back to it when it was over where as for Sarazanmai I had to know what happens next.
I really thought he would turn into a human like in the manga but this is what we got.
There's also incest for incestfags.
He was always interested in lesbians and girls more than homos.
Man, I wish we got Enta apologizing to Toi and telling Kazuki about his feelings. I don't even necessarily want Kazuki to reciprocate them, I just want Enta being completely honest with himself. It would tie nicely with him finally abandoning his delusions.
>three main character relationship triangle
>pointless fujo bait cop characters that were a waste of screentime
>meaningless minor characters
>happy ending(?) with a lot of loose ends
Easily ikuhura's weakest work
Did the wheelchair boy sever his connection with Sara to save everyone offscreen? I dont get it but if this was true it would raise my opinion of the show
Nothing about that is particularly interesting or impressive to me.
Serious question, why was Reo so brown?
nice user, I've been seeing less Chikai hate lately which makes me happy
There's no way this wasn't Ikuhara saying fuck you to his own trope
Because he's ever worked with BL mangaka.
Ikuni requested he be tan and have shark teeth.
He's Egyptian.
I think it was the highlight of the episode with episode titles reuse.
>Did the wheelchair boy sever his connection with Sara to save everyone offscreen?
Why would you think that?
gyaru fashion never dies
I don't think so. I think he was just there so we'd have a viewpoint to the resolution of the Keppi/Sara plot.
>Ikuni requested he be tan and have shark teeth
Great taste.
Early on I was hoping that Enta was going to get a good heart to heart moment with his sister about him being gay.
Everything was so sloppy. Dedicating the first half of the show to Kazuki, whose impact on the ending wasn't even that grand especially rubs me the wrong way.
>episode titles reuse
Kino.
It was really gay and really lazy, but I can't tell it was boring, managed to kept the interest until the end.
He was supposed to have a "gaudy/flashy" appearance that's at odds with his personality. His dark skin and pale hair create a strong contrast with Mabu's pale skin and dark hair too, which is good when they have similar builds and wear the same outfits.
>horrifying
Terrible taste, kero.
A show that made a dull spring a bit more lively, but that I will forget in the next 6 months.
yuribears > gayfrogs
the true form of Keppi is a pokemon
>conversation about how he was scared to choose and break the circle
>the random scene of prince and princess
>in the last scene there's now a frog idol on TV and kappa imagery is revoked from the city
We never saw Otterzilla in action.
Sara should have a dress befitting a princess, she looks like a slutty belly dancer.
But we did, in the flashback.
Character design 101. Reo and Mabu are visual opposites from each other. Reo is tan with light hair and a wild appearance with long messy hair and sharp teeth, and Mabu is pale with dark hair a buttoned up appearance with neat hair and glasses
True but gayfrogs was still good
As expected of him. He also requested Sara to look "idolish". Migi said she didn't know what that meant and I think he was the one that wanted the short brows. He also wanted Enta to kind of look like an otaku.
I'll be calling it AOTY in December.
I wanted it to appear again, what a bummer
For like 3 seconds!! If it's not going to do anything interesting don't hype it in the OP.
Ikuhara needs to work with a real writer again.
Did he have a fight with Enokido or something? I find it weird how they stopped collaborating altogether, and Enokido settled with discount Ikuhara (Igarashi).
keppi is the reason I stuck with this show
finale was worth it for all the keppi-service
They kinda look like otters. The real life ones, not the ones drawn in the show.
It's just one thing in the op.
Better than Yuri Kuma Arashi, imo.
Far from gorgeous Utena and Mawaru Penguindrum.
Still a good show. Enjoyed it.
Why are you guys pretending Sarazanmai was so bad compared to Ikuhara's other shows? Yurishit blinds you.
Reo desrcibing Mabu's pure white hands in the novels was a nice touch
A bit better than YKA, enjoyable and had some great moments but on the whole not nearly as fulfilling as MPD and of course no anime has ever come close to doing what Utena did. Overall I am satisfied but I didn't have supremely high expectations. The ending with the titles and Toi in Juvie during the ED was pretty amazing though.
Even if Sarazanmai is Ikuhara’s worst anime, it’s still above a lot of other anime. I think we need to give Sarazanmai time to cool off since it just ended and let it have whatever impact it’ll have.
What does Ikuhara have against nii-sans?
To be fair, YKA episode 4 was better than anything of Sarazanmai.
Enta and Toi matured so nicely, kinda disappointing that Kazuki still looks the same.
It's obvious to anyone that it's worse than Utena and Penguindrum. Whether it's worse than YKA I'd say is down to opinion. The only thing it really has over YKA is characters and even then they're not stellar enough to make it a clear win.
I still like all Ikuhara shows anyway.
>1544030388726.jpg (190 KB, 1920x1080)
hahahaha, holy shit, what the hell is this? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA
>unironically watching frog animu
INSTALL YOUR FUCKING WATER FILTERS
Because it was.
I cared more about some NPC girls in yuribears than any character in Sara that wasn't Toi and his aniki. Lots of loose ends, cops story was rushed as hell and to care about them you needed to dig into additional materials and twitter, and that was despite them having so much screen time. Singing and butt plugin' felt cringe too.
I just wanted him to be loved and happy.
I filtered the threads to not get spoiled, but can we all agree that:
Toi and his brother >>> gay cops > Kazuki and wheelchair > Etna
Wait, so she was a frog all along? BWAHAHAHAHA-dish
>Enta last
Automatically based.
Yea Forums hates happy endings, with few exceptions
This but put Chikai at the end.
Do you have terminal autism?
We knew this from the beginning.
Toi > cops > Enta > Kazuki and Haruka > Chikai
This is still my favorite piece of fanart for this show.
There are a ton of anime that """hype""" things in the OP that never amount to anything in the show.
I agree but only because they turned Enta into ugly otaky type and didn't got him out of being joke character
You just misunderstood what otterzilla was.
>Etna
I need someone to drew Enta in Etna's clothes right now
I wish we could've had a Rebomabu kiss, but I guess even MAPPA has its limits.
I think it wins in the character department and why I put it above YKA. Also liked the coming of age elements in this story. Though I enjoy Ikuni's better sweet endings, I liked the ending for Sarazanmai.
This was already established when Toi tried to kidnap her. It was also hinted at in the manga when she goes off with a prince. The one on TV with her is apparently CGI.
I'm normally very receptive to sibling stories and I like Toi but I just don't give a fuck about Chikai.
As much as I liked Toi, I never wanted to fuck him until this image happened.
Damn what’d Etna do to you
Stop memeing about MAPPA, they didn't do anything and Sarazanmai was bolder than Yuri on Ice anyway.
>I cared more about some NPC girls in yuribears
To be fair it was Ikuhara's greatest love story
>This was already established when Toi tried to kidnap her.
>implying I didn't already drop this gay ass show by then
you people would watch literally anything, hu?
>The only thing it really has over YKA is characters
Characters in Gay Bears are quite dislikeable (I thought it fit the show), but even then Lulu is better than all the gay boys put together.
>Enta helping Toi up
Cute
Toi has a big one for his age.
I want to fug Mabukappa.
The reason it feels like he got shafted is because his whole character conflict was never resolved. He loved Kazuki physically and romantically but he never actually got a chance to be open about it. Kazuki never found out.
After everything is said and done, Enta is still closeted and secretly in love with his best friend.
Ikuhara wimped out.
It was fabulous.
Why the fuck did this artist draw him younger tha he looks in the show?
Jk, I know why. I just wanted to bitch.
I love sibling stories, and I have very complicated feelings regarding Chikai, but Toi deserves much, much better than him regardless.
Just like Enta is small for his age.
I don't know that Ikuhara wimped out so much as prioritized a ton of other shit way higher than Enta.
Enta>Tooi>Keppi>>>Kazuki = Mabu>Haruka>Otter>Chikai>Reo>Da-Da-Darkness
You posted exactly what I was talking about so it proves it. I want an ova spin off about them.
His fate is to be an eternal cuck, he settled for the "just friends" meme, there's no recovery from that.
It's a little frustrating for me that I don't care about Chikai. I'm not sure what exactly the problem is, unless it's just that there wasn't enough screentime and development for his and Toi's relationship. I wish I had cared more when he died, but all I wanted was for Toi to be able to move on from him afterward.
>this taste
This scene is literally the reason YKA is better than Sarazanmai.
Were these the only stitches for the episode?
If you're here, thanks one more time for your effort all season, stitchanon.
That's fair. I wanted Toi to be able to move on, too. I did care about Chikai, and I empathized with him, but that just led to be being disappointed in him. He deserved what he got, in no small part because he deliberately dealt Toi a very undeserved hand himself.
The montage of flashbacks during his death scene actually made me angrier with him than anything.
And he's still growing, will he manage to match Reo's size?
Enta is destined to be forever a bottom and forever rejected.
In the other thread.
Ikuni always does gay shows. You should have never even picked it up.
Lulu was not better than Toi but they are the best girl and best boy of their respective shows. I'm not even saying characters in YKA were dislikable but I really didn't care for them outside of Lulu. I felt like it was like watching people you didn't really care for get together, I tried to care for them them.
*Ikuhara has its limits
I hope he does even more male gay shows instead of yuri for a while
>Ikuni always does gay shows. You should have never even picked it up.
I liked Utena, for all that matters. Didn't watch the peguin show. I might do that at some point, but I'm not really lusting for more Ikuni right now.
Chikai > Toi > Kazuki > Reo Mabu > Enta
>Lulu was not better than Toi
How? Toi was pretty bland for being "the bad guy", his story arc was heavily carried by his brother.
I keep thinking about him reading Nakamura Asumiko's work. That's beautiful
Cops > Toi + Aniki >>>>>> Enta >>>>> Kazuki + Wheelchair
Toi should've been the main character for the entire show honestly
You could say the same for Lulu but Toi's arc was carried by his brother because that's what the series was about.
It really wasn't for people that weren't big fans of his series. I had fun with all his series. I can't wait for the next one in 4/5 years.
I can't even fathom how bad your taste could be to not care for aniki
I don't know what to tell you. I really liked Chikai, his voice, his look, his way he talk, his catchphrase and the "world" he lives in. I kinda wish the whole anime was about the underworld.
YKA is a more polarizing, and a more interesting show.
>It really wasn't for people that weren't big fans of his series.
For one; big if true, and for two: that's fucking stupid, even if.
Of course you're one of the anikifags
if it's hard to care about the cops imagine with this guy
It's not bad taste to not care for a man who steeps his otouto's life in troubles. Otoutos are for cherishing and cherishing only.
>Otoutos are for cherishing and cherishing only
He was doing his best.
It was too much of a pain in the ass for him to even speak words of endearment to his otouto in his final moments. I have a lot of thoughts on Chikai, but I cannot excuse treating your otouto's love as a vulnerability and shying from it.
YKA definitely needs a rewatch. The show really had a problem with few episodes, but its themes and the ending were really nice.
He did though. He was just shit at expressing it, and given his past that's understandable. Who ever cherished Chikai? me
I have seen people that weren't prior fans of his series loving it because of how different and out there it is.
I will rewatch it but these scenes that are being posted don't out blow Sarazanmai. The ending scenes where they finally come together is one of the best moments of the entire show though. It was a worthwhile pay off.
>Who ever cherished Chikai?
Toi, of course.
I do believe Chikai cherished Toi, but he also put him through a lot of pain. That's why I say otoutos are for cherishing only. Not cherishing and suffering.
Sounds like you're just thinking with your pussy. Anyone who doesn't find Chikai sexually attractive doesn't have that much reason to care about him.
I loved everything the show tried to tackle thematically so it's nice to see a bit more love for it now than when it aired.
>his best
His best sucked. He was actually considering killing Toi to save his own ass the trouble, even if he decided against it. He was selfish and careless at times, and caused Toi a lot of distress.
The way he crossed himself out hurt. In trying to provide for his brother because of losing their parents, he really lost himself but still loved his brother.
I think if you are an older sibling you would care for him.
Has he read her stuff? ReoMabu’s contrasting looks remind me of Doukyusei.
I am an older sibling, and a younger sibling. That's why I usually care about sibling stories.
>I think if you are an older sibling you would care for him.
maybe it's a cultural thing but even me, who's an emotionally constipated autist wasn't half as bad as him when it comes to my younger brother
>His best sucked.
Yep. I understand that he had a lot of shit going on and was struggling in his own right, but he could and should have done better for Toi.
He wrote a manga with her
At that point he understood that he crossed the line of no return and was provoking Toi to get rid of him.
I am an older sibling and my little brother is the most important person to me in the world. I'd kill myself before I fucked up as bad as Chikai, because my brother would be better off with a dead older sibling than with one who exploited his love and vulnerability.
I want to give Chikai and Toi a place and family to come home to.
>spoiler
Yeah, me too. Both turned to shit eventually, huh
He has a series manga with her. Pretty sure he has said he reads both yaoi and yuri. They stopped translating it awhile back though and even then the quality was pretty bad from what I can remember.
I WANT TO BE KEPPI
Same here.
As long as we are all better older siblings than him, we'll be alright.
>As long as we are all better older siblings than him, we'll be alright.
That's very heart-warming, but also sets the bar really low.
I unironically like this. It’s totally different than what he’s done before and reminds me of 60’s animu designs.
You have to really deliberately be as bad of an older sibling as Chikai is, so I think we're fine.
Toi was really a subhuman
i am glad that they blatantly ignored enta
>Ikuhara needs to work with a real writer again.
why?
I wished they ignored Enta more just to spite the whiny Entafags.
That seems like a waste of emotional energy.
I WANT TO BE SARA
Mediocre ending for a mediocre show.
He's resocialized now!
I love Chikai but its really fucked up what he put Toi through. He felt bad but didn't take enough initiative to force his brother to stop and just live a normal life. I know some people use younger kids and younger siblings in drug trade because their is less lose. Their names really were one of the best puns in the show. He was always far and though he did show affection for Toi he was emotionally distant because he cared more about money and survival than Toi's happiness, which would have just been being together.
I was a bad older sibling today so I will correct that. Sometimes the bar has to be low so you can feel better by comparison.
Don't even joke about anything Revue Starlight being better than Sarazanamai. That's too much shit taste even for Yea Forums standards.
>tfw Mabu was being fucked by a concept for 10 years
Now that’s going too far
Otter was the worst part of Sarazanmai.
But his voice was the best.
Headcanon. Unless it gets confirmed that he was trying to do this, his behaviour definitely doesn't have to be interpreted this way.
I think the reason I felt rather uncomfortable with this episode was because it felt really shonen, for lack of a better word. Toi was good, since the episode was focused on him anyway, but Kazuki sounded a lot like the typical shonen protagonist and the way the boys' relationship was portrayed this episode felt a bit off. I know it was a special situation and that power of friendship was the whole point, but that's exactly why I felt it kind of missed that 'something' it used to have. Also, Kazuki and Enta were basically just props in the epilogue.
Why does a despair filled concept needs a gun?
Practicality
USO.....
USSO
I AM AN ABSTRACT CONCEPT
USSO
I am the only one that thought that keppi was really handsome?
So what was your favorite moment or piece of the series, all said and done?
Mine was Kappa Zombie Mabu and the Sarazanmai duet between him and Reo, closely followed by Chikai's death scene.
He's cute.
I am very concerned about Toi's future. Does he come back to live at the soba place? He didn't seem very keen on the idea.
This one.
Maybe it’s cuz it’s still fresh in my head, but when Kazuki Toi and Enta started singing the song all together was great. And seeing Kappa Reo was great too. I also loved when Toi was trying to trap Sara and then got so tired of her escaping that he just straight tried to kill her
he becomes another whore on Asakusa streets and die of AIDS
>I am very concerned about Toi's future.
You should be, he has a fairly severe criminal record and his life is really only just beginning.
Cont. and Enta talking some sense in Kazuki
He’ll be okay. He has Kazuki and Enta to keep him on a good path.
I'm not worried about his path, but his prospects. It's not easy for convicts.
Japan liked it enough that there's gonna be loads of Enta porn for degenerate shotacons like myself for weeks to come, so that's good.
that is what subhumans deserve
But that’s the thing. Tooi has Kazuki and Enta to have his back. If ever he falls on hard times, they’ll always support him
He can still run the soba restaurant when he grows up, assuming his relatives haven't disowned him. Or maybe he can work in another soba restaurant.
>Revue Starlight
nice to see some one with taste lulu made that show to bad she got pouched
>Kazuki sounded a lot like the typical shonen protagonist
He was like that before this episode though.
>the way the boys' relationship was portrayed this episode felt a bit off
I think it's because it the boys' bonds were underdeveloped. All the boys behave as though they were better friends than the anime ever actually showed them becoming. Kazuki didn't really understand Enta or Toi before his sit-down with Haruka in Episode 9, and after that all he does is try to save Enta while Toi is absent. Enta was never really shown with a genuine interest in connecting with Toi, even though he had that revelation about Toi while talking with Chikai. Kazuki's interest in Toi pre-micanga-revelation feels artificial, and Toi's feeling of friendship with Enta seems excessive for the volume and quality of interactions between them.
The finale really feels to me like it's based on a relationship between the three of them that was never fully shown to the viewer. The scenes of "togetherness" between them, like when they were fighting over their secrets or when they were cleaning up the mess that Enta made, didn't seem like enough meaningful bonding for them to care about each other as much as they all do.
I hope the novel remedies this by giving us more of the boys' internal monologues. Like, if we get Enta POV during the cleaning scene, maybe we'll find out that at times he got so caught up in the fun that he briefly forgot his jealousy and felt connected to Toi, rather than his entire behaviour being an act.
So it’s literally just gay kappa eternal sunshine of the spotless mind? It was alright but pretty disappointing compared to utena and penguindrum, its a shame there won’t be another ikuhara work for years
Thanks anons. I want to keep the good in mind for him.
>weeks to come
Think bigger
There is always the rickshaw business with Reo and Mabu.
I used to dislike the recent sns promotions for not having enough Kazuki but I realized that without all the Enta and Toi bonding from them, this finale would've felt even more rushed.
My cheeks hurt from smiling.
i still cant get enough of his stoned eyes lmao
My favorite part was everything between Mabu dropping off the platform into the drum and Reo dropping dead on the bridge. I really loved episode 10. It was a delightful climax for every bit of Sarazanmai media I'd consumed up to that point. Despite how obvious that turn of events seems in hindsight, I hadn't anticipated Zombie Mabu and Reo connecting via Sarazanmai, so the song sequence was thrilling.
I assume he can get into a normal high school, right? Episode should have ended with Toi as the new transfer student for pottery.
Yeah I think with the 11 episode limit, Ikuhara and the other writers had to get creative with the character development. And to their credit I think it worked well.
It's hard to say if his aunt and uncle would welcome him back or if he even wants to live with them. I can see him staying at Enta's place until there's a better solution (Kazuki shares a room with Haruka so I doubt his house is big enough).
Reo's mental breakdown while forgetting Mabu (GOAT of the show), Reo's other mental breakdown after otter NTR, Chikai's death, Mabu telling Reo he loves him, Toi going through juvie/getting out, sarararararararararararara
>Reo and Mabu make up for their crimes against the boys by adopting Toi
>Toi, once he gets over the weirdness of being adopted at 16, gets to enjoy a family household full of love and delicious home-cooked meals
Wholesome.
I wouldn't have liked that. Toi's closure here was great because there was real weight and consequence to his experiences. Even though I worry for him, the gravity of his choices needed to be felt or it'd be trite.
I think it worked well considering the show itself and it's emphasis on how social media connects us, for better or for worse. For any other show, it wouldn't have worked.
>Sara and Keppi come around for family cucumber roll dinners
>Toi gets a sister instead of a brother
I want it so badly.
You know what the pity about that is? That some rando who decides to watch the show on a whim won't know about the cop manga and Twitter or about the boys' SNS. Multimedia stuff is great while the show is airing, because you're right in the middle of action, but extra material might become increasingly difficult to find as time passes by and unless you're really dedicated, you'll realise you're missing chunks of the story and character development.
Maybe not my favourite, but Toi jumping from the bridge and slowly sinking while Sarazanmai no Uta plays was very pretty.
Speaking of that scene, did he try to off himself? That's sad, but I'm glad his bros got his back.
9 and 10. The voice acting was superb and it did a good job of switching tones effectively. Like how in the span of 4 minutes Reo gets his ass eaten out, becomes a cute kappa with Mabu, and then is absolutely devastated.
I’m not a Miyanofag but it was always fun when Reo was on screen.
>getting adopted by a pair of gay kappa cops that shot your faggy rival in the search of the love of the faggiest kid living on Japan
Truly, pride month
Yeah but Ikuhara shows are always like that. As long as people understand it’s an Ikuhara production and have some knowledge of what that entails will know to look into the deeper lore. But yeah it’s a shame total randos will never know that.
Kazuki in drag is so rapeable.
>Toi has to be dragged into Enta's house, because he would rather sleep on the street than impose on Jinnais
>but once he gets over himself he gets to enjoy sleepovers with Enta and the warm family atmosphere
I want to see it.
Calm down Toi.
I am not sure if he was trying to off himself there but I think the hoop implies in one of the possible futures he did.
I've never looked into the deeper lore of Utena and Penguin, did I miss something?
Calm down, Toi.
Toi is way too sensitive to rape anyone. Kazuki is the most likely to force himself on someone else.
he is right thought
I don’t know as much about Penguindrum, but if you only watched the anime for Utena, there’s a lot of underlying lore and production stuff that’s very interesting that helps enrich the experience. Not to mention the movie. Tvtropes has a lot of that extra information if you’re interested.
>Falling asleep like this
He really was asking for it
Toi has waterboarded.
How familiar are you with the 1995 Tokyo subway sarin gas attack?
Oh yeah that’s a whole thing in Penguindrum right?
I'd say that's a different case. Utena certainly doesn't feel incomplete without production info. Sarazanmai is somewhat reliant on side material.
Loved the use of the office Twitter as well as Reo Mabu's twitter.
Other than the ending: Haruka and Kazuki's coming together, all of the singing and dancing moments, Keppi's antics, and Chikai's death and Toi's shooting.
That was to make niisan happy.
It all depends on his Aniki. If Chikai says that Toi has to bone an unwilling person, then Toi will bone them. On his own? Probably not.
The bad things he did for the sake of his connection to Chikai don't make him likely to rape anyone. He's empathetic and not impulsive.
I know, and I don't think he would rape, I'm just saying he's not too sensitive to inflict harm.
The only thing I think would be really relevant to the show is that show Touga had the same backstory as movie Touga and was sexually abused as a kid, which gives a totally different perspective to his character.
Which one?
That's important, yeah, thanks for catching. Otherwise, it can definitely function as self-contained.
I feel like I should read the Utena manga since they came out together but I don't think it takes away from Utena. Penguindrum know about the attack and its motivation and you're good. Sarazanmai's material like the LN, SNS accounts, and manga really complimented the series.
Yes. I feel like I should read the whole novel rather than tidbits of things that differed or weren't included in the anime.
Depends if whether that whole episode title sequence was one future or not as some implied Kazuki left the team but the betray seemed like Toi. Doesn't matter anyway since it just means without connections he would have died, I think.
This has the same energy as that allegory, allegorier, allegoriest screencap from Utena
Scowling kappa are really unsettling.

In a way, Enta's 'gay desire' was treated more like a character flaw than anything else. His conflict was essentially 'be gay', or have a 'good, normal, straight friendship'. They essentially 'resolved' it by not speaking of it or referencing it ever again.
They really gonna leave ReoMabu twitter the way it is.
I don’t think it was him being gay that was the flaw. It was how obsessed he was with Kazuki that was unhealthy. Enta’s development comes in with realizing that he doesn’t need Kazuki to be in love with him for their relationship to work. They’re great friends without romance, and it was never mutual, so it’d be bad for Enta to pursue Kazuki in that way.
BAAASUTO SUTIRIMU
I think it says more about forcing a connection to be something it's not, or telling yourself it's something it's not, but I wish Enta had gotten more narrative closure.
It's from 10yrs ago. Also no intern wants to wake up at 5am.
All in all a pretty forgettable waste of time
There isn't a function to make all the deleted tweets come back at once, is there? Maybe they just don't want to go through the trouble of replacing each tweet one by one. And if they revived the Twitter, then fans would expect new posts to come and I doubt there's much value for the team in making new posts for an indefinite amount of time.
>otter joy
The only thing odd was that there was never a scene where Enta admitted to Kazuki that he had deeper feelings for him.
They hinted and teased at it happening dozens of times during the show, but in the end it never happened.
I just want the tweets back and no black icon.
People already archived the important ones so its fine but they got their happy ending. No tweets a month or so before episode one then one final tweet last week before going black. It's fine though. I wonder when the next time an anime will have performative art on social media will be.
SNS was the true kino.
Yeah I would’ve liked if Enta and Kazuki had had that conversation instead of just kind of ignoring it
He’s so fucking cute
I guess his feelings were something more private that he needed to solve himself. Although the other two did the same thing, but they also got involved in grander events. Enta had the misfortune of mending the golden conbi and solving the issue of his unrequited love in two episodes that heavily focused on other characters (Toi, cops), so his own issues, while nicely tied, were kind of lost in the grander scale of events.
Did he deserve to die?
Yes, Toi was going to end up as some Yakuza boss' cumrag had he continued to follow his dindu brother
Yes.
Yes. Toi agreed, don't bother him about it.
HOT
Yes because karma but no because I loved him. He really killed that big kid for no reason.
Yes.
what was the fucking message?
connecting with people is hard
how did you not get that
Lies are the medium through which reification destroys interpersonal connections, and fear of loss is a vulnerability exploited by greed that must be overcome in order to maintain one's stake in the meaningful interconnectedness around them.
This is just off the top of my head so forgive if I miss some things or oversimplify. Social media connects us all, for better or worse. So it’s better to make good and meaningful connections so that when the world begins to weigh too heavy on your shoulders they can help you out of your funk. There are obvious allusions to suicide and depression with the “leaving of the circle” and the guns. Of course, with any Ikuhara production, there’s multiple layers and multiple views and multiple meanings and messages and that’s just one of them.
Believe in your connections with others no matter what the future may bring. Perhaps.
Hedgehog's Dilemma.
Watching anime is always a waste of time
Yes but I want to heal and purify him.
>Social media
There was literally no mention or presence of social media in the entire show, user.
If you reply to this with "m-muh wifi signals" I'm going to look at your post with contempt.
tebanasu na, yokubou wa kimi no inochi da
Well obviously it’s not just social media. It’s all kinds of connections. But social media is one of the biggest ways people connect now, and that coupled with how multimedia this anime has been, especially with twitter, you’d be foolish to ignore that fact.
kill otters before they kill your life
Connect or die.
to butt is to live
Easily Ikuhara's worst show. But it was still one of the better shows of the season. I wouldn't even be mad if people told me this was their AOTS. Extremely disappointing though.
I AM A CONCEPT
Don't kill yourself.
If you want to murder people and sell drugs do it as a cute shota.
Human connections are hard, but they're worth having so work hard to maintain and cherish them.
This artwork was hiding that Reo and Mabu have little plushes of each other as kappa.
Actual plusihies when?
That was a shockingly bad finale. I pretty much liked it up until then.
Toi and his niichan were basically the stand-outs and I will probably forget everything else in a month.
Reo looks emaciated, Mabu looks fat, Toi is a cute slut, Kazuki wore his fuckawful shoes, and Enta looks like a 5 year old tard.
so Enta wasn't gay, just was trying too hard to be with kazuki because muh golden duo?
No because he was the only consistently entertaining character in this show despite his limited screentime
How is it possible to no homo Enta's feelings? What mental gymnastics are you doing?
Toi looks ready for breeding there. Too bad he has Aids now.
He probably is attracted to Kazuki to some extent, but he did realize that he's content with their relationship as long as they're friends.
Objectively last 5 episodes > first six
>Reo’s noodle arms
A bunch of derpy kappa too.
Who knows. They're not part of this merch collection.
collection.rakuten.net
That fatty Mabu took all his meat.
It is worth connecting with people, I guess? The A symbol is clearly the "other side of the coin" of the otter symbol, which represents desires/lies/disconnection, so the A probably represents love/truth/connection. Toi jumping off the bridge at the end could very well have been a suicide attempt, but becuase he was A'd with his bros, it was actually just a cathartic release for him before he rejoined the real world.
The show in general has a hell of a lot of anti suicide themes. I'm curious if this is just a theme he picked because Japan has lots of suicides in general, or if it was also influenced by the high rate of gay suicides.
It’s probably both, especially considering Ikuhara is a queer man himself
He's married.
Speculating about the sexualities of real people is a weird thing to do, user.
anal sex is good
I said “queer” not “gay”
fucking trash show
this fucking faggot's a hack, Utena is FUCKING TRASH too
Cope
I didn't say you said gay, even though you posted what you did to relate Ikuhara to the suicide of gay men. But if you're saying he's queer and you're not speculating about his sexuality, then you're speculating that he's trans, and that's also weird.
He is a very strange individual, yes.
They're all fucking dead, dish.
en.m.wikipedia.org
...
>what is bi
Jesus fucking Christ, I know that. I didn't exclude it at all. I'm saying that speculating about whether he's straight, bi, or gay is weird because he's a dude with a private life.
Pretty sure he's not.
Don't let go of your desire.
his rolled sleeves made me uncomfortable
Didn't he kill that kid because he knew about how Toi killed that gang leader years ago?
Christ, there is one of you assholes in every fucking thread.
To Suwabe? Yes.
Ikuhara spent more time adding references and symbols than actually developing a great story or developing his characters. This was so bad.
Having feelings for someone =/= wanting to pursue a relationship with him
He says his desires were always hopeless fantasies and is content with that now
Suwabe is married to Minagawa Junko and Toriumi Kousuke.
So without the cops draining the fujoshit dollars how bad would this have flopped?
it's just a phase
Nice boat
What does the "next" plate mean
The adolescence of prince Keppi movie.
I don't think I'm ready for full furry (slimey?) Ikuni
Seeing Toi so happy was great
Does anyone know what kind of Japanese hat is Sara wearing? It looks very Korean to me.
I don't understand why people were so surprised by her appearance, when we've always known this was part of her inspiration.
More content on the horizon.
Or Sara's been impregnated and she'll soon bear Keppi's children.
So the only profitable anime Ikuhara ever made which had some impact was Sailormoon and Utena, his current streak with Penguin, Yuri Bears and now Otters are just mad plans of crazy anime director which can't really work anymore.
*tadpoles
Do kappa lay a string or cluster of eggs like frogs, or bear live children like people?
>puns that only make sense in Japanese
It is actually a little odd that they are back in human/kappa forms. I wonder if they had to sacrifice somehow off camera to help perform the final sarazanmai.
I just think they grew fond of lollygagging in Japan.
It looks like something worn by high ranked women. The lady in Rashomon, for example, wore the same kind of thing.
Kinda cute actually. It is a golden dish of hope for 'next'. The rarest dishu. The staff must have loved this show.
So Toi was the only character who mattered all along.
It was fun. Didn't really care for the main trio and their relationships but the Aniki/Mabu+Reo stuff was good. And like other Ikuhara Anime, even at its worst it's still really creative and weird, which is fun.
Sara was already shown to switch between the two freely. See: Toi trying to kidnap her.
Is this the little bro or what?
The hair color is too different and I would imagine that he'd want to be called Harukappa if he were to be an idol.
A man can dream
She looks like she has purple/violet eyes like Sara? Haruka has pink-ish eyes.
>no discussion whatsoever
Man, Ikuni really didn’t deliver.
The ending is surprisingly easy to understand for Ikuhara's standards.
You can speculate forever about what will probably never have an answer, like how the timeline works or other minor details, but that's something people are doing since when the anime started.
The series was pretty straightforward. If you really want to talk about crazy stuff, here's a hot take I've seen: the kids actually died on that bridge sans Toi, who went to kill himself after he got out of juvie. That kappa song he hears while he's going down + the boys coming to greet him + their kappa forms going down the river = dead. It's obviously not what happened, but hey.
also spiritual rebirth
Quoting Ikuhara in an interview with Pash! Plus:
>"We live in an age where, with our smart phones and social media, connecting with people is a daily activity – so I wanted to ask, what does that all mean? What do we want to do with it? And made those questions a central theme of this series, and I wanted to look at things like how there’s this conflicting mix of emotions where you have this desire to connect with someone, but that connection can also bring pain. If you maintain the connection, where does it go from there? What happens to connections that are lost? Do we even need connections?"[
stitch of haruka stargazing where
The other thread.
You have to connect the dots.
Got it. Based, thanks!
I forgot about that. I should have remembered because Ikuni had a voice cameo like 2 seconds before that scene.
And Kazuki. I was thinking Toi should have been the real MC from the start, but then he wouldn't have become the surprise MC in the second half.
Not sure if there was "the real MC" out of the three even if Enta was obviously less important, Kazuki was just the first boy and the first arc.
Nah the hair and eyes are too different and Haruka would be like... 10? (How old is Haruka again?) Either way I don’t think the frog person is Haruka.
Haruka would be twelve or so.
>SORE DEMO

SHUT THE FUCK UP
Who else having Unicorn PTSD here?
lol no. Starlight's transformation scene is great, I'll give you that, but overall it was underwhelming. I'd rather just watch Idolmaster, it unironicanlly had more interesting visuals (e.g. the Makoto episode).
>マスコミ = social media
Lmao literally grasping at straws here, user. Go back to highschool.
Sararara
Sararararara
Wait a sec, this is kinda gay...
This entire show was like a bad acid trip.
And I mean weird even by Ikuhara standards.
If your interpretation was how the ending was actually presented in the last episode then it would have helped a mediocre show like Sarazanmai to be remembered in the years.
AnikiEnta and kujicest was the best thing to come out of this.
Sarazanmai was only popular among fujos and they started moving onto shit like Promare before the show even ended. That’s how mediocre the show was honestly.
Ikuhara might call the three of them protagonists, but Kazuki is the face of the series and his arc takes half of it and its climax signals the end of the first part. He's also the one who hands himself the micanga, breaking the time space continuum, so their interactions aren't erased from existence after having a hero™ speech about connections. Sure, with the help of his friends, but he's obviously the most visible and the only one of the trio to have fleshed out and meaningful relationships with the other two.
Starlight is better than everything Ikuhara made, except Utena.
He’s also the most boring protagonist Ikuhara has ever created. The man out to just stop.
i like to believe haruka was able to walk again and decided to become the next sara, there is a reason why there isn't a closeup of the face, maybe to leave it vague that it might or not be haruka
was kazuki deliberately based on shinj iikari?
I see Starlight being mentioned often, but is it really that good? I thought it was like some sort of Love Live for intellectuals. Might give it a try.
Cope harder anikifag
Well, that too.
Can't wait for this to get overblown scores because only total homos could bear watching this past the first two episodes
Idolshit by an Ikuhara wannabe
Yeah I kept thinking of Banagher, same VA even
We were the only ones powerful enough to do so
Basically this. Too much poor taste, not enough good writing.
さららら
サラッと脱出!
This show would be punnier if it was about サラリーマン
Nice.
There are countless puns you can do with "sara"
Probably because the finale was fucking stupid. What a letdown.
Everyone expected something majestic after the craziness of episode 10, but instead we got an all-encompassing healing that felt pretty weak and relied too much on the visuals.
>something majestic
Like what?
Didn't fully understand the ending but I'm glad they all got a happy ending since I liked the characters
Banagher saying is what came on my mind too. He even says it in Narrative too
Cause he’s en?
>getting horny by it
A shitty ending.
He's right though.
In hindsight it’s wrong but I’ll always love the ReoMabu otters
Honestly, Enta should break off his friendship with Kazuki. He should move on and find another love and clinging to Kazuki will never allow for it. It's quite toxic.
They’ve been posting for both still. You act like it’s impossible to be interested in a series and a movie at the same time.
you mean in YKA?
No. He did his best in this cruel world.
Don't brother. It's always a samefag insisting it.
meh. I kinda was expecting AOTY but meh, meh meh
Kazuki stops being a jerk the moment Enta realizes his love can't be reciprocated, so it's all on Enta and I wouldn't blame Kazuki anymore.
'If your life sucks just take some LSD and all'll be rainbows'
only the 4th ep and the last one were good
He did his worst actually. Also he reiterated the fact that he was a "bad guy".
Connecting with people is always going to be very painful and that's okay. Embrace your despair.
You'd think it'd be easy to understand since Yea Forums is full of people outside the circle.
Give Ikuni 2 cours next time. It should be obvious how much this and YKA suffered for it.
Why was the world so cruel to Tooi and Chikai? And somehow Kazuki is the MC even though he's totally bland and his problem are absolutely uninteresting and unrelatable?
Tooi and Chikai seem to be taken from a totally different show. The tonal shifts are unnerving. This show includes things like teenage crime, suicide, seeing your brother shot by gangsters and ends in a big shounen 'believe in your nakama!' rainbowy bullshit. The ending left a bad taste in my mouth.
i don´t think a sad ending would fit the themes of the series
>a lot of anti suicide themes
Really? Then they didn't work as intended. Waving off problems and pretending that you're fine is not a good anti-suicide message.
Fucking Attack on Titan has more of an anti-suicide message than Sarazanmai.
The two-timing bastard!
I think that user mistook "anti-self sacrifice" as "anti-suicide".
Them being just friends is all right, but on hindsight I can't help but think they shouldn't have written Enta as in love with Kazuki at all. The latter is sort of solved in the show by Enta himself, but it gets horribly overshadowed by everything else that happens and it's also not only painful and embarrassing to see, especially since it doesn't really go anywhere, but also makes their relationship more unbalanced than it already is.
Wait, that doesn't make too much sense. Kazuki stops being oblivious/a jerk when Enta gets shot and after Otone tells him he was always supporting him etc. It's not like he knew about his romantic feelings anyway. But yeah, I agree with the last sentence.
Dumb entaposter
That’s not it at all. Toi was living a bad life with his brother, no matter how much Chikai cherished him. Toi however felt for the longest time that the only person he had on his side was his brother, who was leading him down a bad life path. Toi meeting Kazuki and Enta though is what saves him from being/feeling alone in the world. After Chikai dies, Toi’s world crumbles, but realizing that he does have others that care about him is what pulls him back into “the circle”. He does time in juvie for his crimes, and when he comes out, Kazuki and Enta are waiting for him, and he hasn’t hope for the future because of it.
Me, user. Unicorn legit disgusted me. What a way to shit on the UC. The 'message' of Unicorn was idiotic. Banana the worst Gundam MC LIKE EVER [spiler]right after Kira.[/spoiler]
All of the characters seem to belong to different shows, their stories and backgrounds are so disconnected, to use a pun, from each other that insisting on making them relate to one another is absurd and silly. I'm not sold on the last minute happily ever after kind of finale.
Deconstruction of Madoka
Ikuhara said on the radio he'd wanted to do noir themes and apparently the staff was worried about them being too heavy or whatever. I think it worked, especially after the last episode.
Once you enter the underworld, you cannot go back.
Sarazanmai is the deconstruction of the SoL genre
It seems so.
>since it doesn't really go anywhere
I agree. How do you even call this a deeper bond when Kazuki is still oblivious after all these sarazanmais? In a show with a strong 'connect with others' message. What a...waste. Very superficial.
what
>family of retards.png
>It's not like he knew about his romantic feelings anyway
it seems he did, rewatch what he says when he goes to see Enta at his room
He's waiting for Enta to say it himself
What, it makes sense.
LET DESIRE FLOW
NEVER LET IT GO
Still better than lesbian bears
Okay, and why a raven is like a writing desk?
it's more about forcing a connection and giving on his desires without true love involved, also Enta wasn't going to settle for a fake Kazuki and he was able to break the spell due to that
Those stupid lyrics being used in Mabu's death scene made the show seem even wackier than its supposed to be.
Sinclair finally sounded decent as Reo in episode 6, but he couldn't scream for shit at the last moment. He's going to have a hell of a time with episode 10.
we didn't even see them at school
That’s weird cuz Ian Sinclair is good at screaming. Like Berkut in Echoes
bulge Mabu's belly!
He's great at enraged shouting, but screaming "Mabuuuuu!" in despair made his voice break all over the place.
>watching dubs
The absolute state of Yea Forums
so the little brother replaced Sara with a frog? what a shame for kappas
Forcing a romantic connection, you mean? Because he never wanted that, he just wanted to go back to being bros. He was aware his delusions were just delusions.
Mabu loves it. Bless the user who drew it.
oh fuck it let's post it again twitter.com
The new frog idol is a random girl. She doesn't have the voice or hair color of Haruka, and she's not crippled.
aniki did NOTHING wrong, did EVERYTHING for Toi and I will ALWAYS miss him
Did you gawk upon the catalog?
Show me the reactionguys.
Imagine Keppi seeing that in their sarazanmai leak.
Today is a good day for kappa/human and human/kappa sex.
Keppi and Sara have fucked in every combination of blob, furry, and human form.
Why does she have Sara's voice?
at first Keppi thought ReoMabu were weirdos, but then he decided to try it with Sra!
I would really like to see their children. In all their possible forms.
Sara has three forms so Keppi should too. We still haven't seen Keppi human one.
He's probably just a bishounen.
sara is half human that's why she has a human form
If reo and mabu lied to keppi about why they wanted mabu's shirikodama out but not reo's then keppi would find out that way

You are right user. It was confirmed by Ikuhara in an interview, Sara is half human and half yokai (kappa).
Now that the dust has settled, we can all agree that Chikai's death was the best scene in the show right?
He said she's a bridge between the two worlds. Not really confirming anything.
Among the best, yeah. Guy was a piece of shit, but he had good chemistry with whoever he interacted.
He said she's both human and kappa, there's the interview somewhere on Super Groupies.
Yes. Right after Otter corrupting Mabu.
At least he had a personality. Unlike the piece of wood called Kazuki.
It was third best for me.
more like raped?
can you imagine being cucked by a fucking concept. poor reo.
We're all getting fucked by concepts (-isms and -phobias) every day.

This but only kujicest.
I'm sure this anime didn't help you one bit.
how is it the english voice actors of the three mains are better at singing the japanese voice actors? toi's voice actor especially like god damn
They both reappeared from their rings naked, so they probably talked and had passionate make-up sex.

otter corrupting mabu scenes always got me so uncomfortably horny
FLOWED ENDLESSLY
Kazuki's VA isn't very good in my opinion, but Enta and Toi are surprisingly well done.
I watch worse anime
someone needs to edit that quote in an art or cap but I don't know which ReoMabu picture is good for that
the one flower sightseeing with the wedding bands?
Why couldn't we have just gotten 11 episodes of Kujibros yakuza and brocon adventures
>dude buddhism lmao for the fourth time in a row
thank you for spoonfeeding
I love him so much. I wanted him to stay dead though but now the ending hurts me even more because of it.
Wonder if during those 11 years Reo’s sex drive completely withered away to the point where he didn’t even masturbate.
or so reo thought but in reality mabu was fucking him in his sleep
twitter.com
Anime about yakuza bros would be good.
Imagine Mabu salivating over Reo's morning wood, wishing he could shove it down his throat and bury his nose in Reo's blonde pubes, but not being able to. When Reo gets up in the morning, he irritably goes and takes a cold shower, where the water masks his tears but Mabu can still hear him cursing and sobbing.

This is truly a special day.
bi artists so good at porn
How long did Ikuhara wait to announce that he was working on a new project, after YKA ended?
the cover with the purple flowers
4-5yrs
Shindoi
I feel completely the same. Toi ended up really poorly characterized at times because he just didn't plain fit in this show, and Chikai was underutilized because there was no room for exploring his dynamic with Toi. It was all basically reduced to boring-ass "CRIME BAD, FRIENDS GOOD" when they could've had so much more.
They should've been in their own series, not stuck in one that wasn't interested in actually showing them for what they were.
I will miss this slut.
Yeah the rethoric was so simplistic and shounen-like
enta's voice actor is definitely the strongest singing wise and is better than most of the singing cast in the original. its interesting that funi most recruited newcomer actors for this project. maybe because of the singing?
>even the chibi form is lewd
Guy has no limits.
Based and broconpilled
Fuck the main trio, they had no chemistry whatsoever
Because that would've been good, user.
>tfw no aniki bf to makeout with in the middle of waterboarding

I did not know I had this fetish until now
It definitely felt too childish in a 'let's hold hand and all will be fine!' way. No real struggle, no cathartic redemption.
@ssperomii anikichad. God that picture is so good, I love how Chikai's forcing Toi's tongue out.
I don't think I can forgive Ikuni and Utsumi for what they did to Tooi. WORSE THAN MARI OKADA.
You're mad that he had a good ending?
He had a happy ending and was the star of the latter half, are you just upset his brother died?
Are you talking about the juvie?
You can say the friendship resolution is too childish but Toi moving on with his life is a good and fitting outcome.
will you incest fuckers get over it already
There is no good ending without his brother by his side and anyone with a brain knows it to be true
Fuck muh healthy relationshipfags
Literally the only thing I liked from episode 11
I'm gonna miss these threads
are you ok
It was so unnatural. Unrealistic.
Wow, you must hate Toi to death if you really believe this. I hope you are baiting.
I'm sure he got ass-raped in jail too.
But somehow he's fine, because haha friendship, amirite?
But Toi wants a normal and healthy life for his brother. He gave up his normal life to connect with his brother.
Thanks kujibro I'm really going to miss you guys Yeah surprise forceful kisses from Chikai are great.
I still don't know why despite Sarazanmai getting the happiest ending(and I'm glad because Ikuhara's usual ascending past societal constraints wouldn't be fitting)I feel the least satisfied by it. Up until the end my biggest problem with the show was the execution of the cops, but looking back at it now I'm just finding more and more things that bother me.
Source of this one please
What was unrealistic? Toi's outcome? He served his sentence and then started again with his life. Nothing so unrealistic. In a magic kappa anus balls anime.
>I don't like it so it's bait
I don't care about the happiness of fictional characters. I care about what's most compelling to watch. The bullshit forced "friendship" was not interesting, whereas the dynamic between Toi and Chikai was.
A good ending isn't a happy one, it's one that's worth the ride.
Nip jails are not full of degenerates like burger jails.
I bet Toi was the one who ass-raped the others.
Kappa males get pegged and carry the babies, like seahorses.
So all the shipbait was just bait except for reomabu?
>I'm just finding more and more things that bother me.
Such as?
Two males interacting =/= shipbait.
You’ve misinterpreted the whole point of the show you dumb fujo
Kids are definitely sexually abused in Japanese juvie, just usually not by each other. It's by authorities within the facility.
t. someone who has done an unusual amount of research on juvenile crime in Japan
>implying it was a good end
He lost his dad, mum, bro, 'momma i just killed a man', served time, threw away the money so has no funds left, aunt and uncle probably disowned him for 'bringing shame onto the family' (remember how they talked about Chikai? they are conservative as fuck and would never ever give somebody a second chance), no money, so can't afford university fees, his job is flicking burgers at KFC, stigma about mental issues + lack of funds, so Toi becomes an alcoholic or a drug addict, bleak prospects for the future.
But 'all is fine' according to this thread because 'muh friendship is magic!', isn't that correct huh.
>unrealistic
The kid went to juvie.
That's not how seahorses work.
Thinking the point was stupid and unfulfilling is not the same as missing it. This show had a number of good things on its hands and somehow managed to fumble them all. It was a bullshit waste of time and proof that Ikuhara has completely lost his touch.
Friendshipfags are literally mentally ill, there is no reasoning with them. There was no fucking friendship between the main three.
The finale kind of felt like buildup sex to a ruined orgasm.
He has nobody to support him emotionally, aside from his two superficial 'friends' - one a clueless manchild and the other a crazy gay kid who wanted him to disappear in the first place.
I agree about the silly friendship happy ending but you were saying that Toi would have been happier with his brother alive, which is wrong. Even if Chikai and Toi has good chemistry their relationship was fucked up, it wasn't possible for them to save it and restart a new life.
Nice, didn't know how to put it into words.
We told you it's 3P friendship but some of you shippers keep on insisting on stuff like cuckshit for Enta.
Look at this hiding through projection.
Please share more. It seems interesting.
This. I don't know how anyone can actually buy into the bullshit narrative that these three kids have any sort of meaningful friendship.
Kazuki and Enta are friends because they're friends. We don't get to really see any meaningful points of commonality between them, they're just friends because the backstory deems them friends. Kazuki's obsession with Toi is bizarre and completely unfounded, as there is no reason he should care this much about or even remember some guy who threw an anklet at him when he was 10 years old. Enta fucking hates Toi except when he doesn't. How is this a friendship?
And so should start self-harming, but it was never shown.
He become a pro soccer player in a possible future and there's a possibility they don't fuck it up, they earn ok don't they.
this will be forgotten like the lesbians one, I don't mean utena. I am starting to lose faith in Iku. It seems like he is selling out and not putting in all his effort. Not that I have anything against that, I still believe his next big show may come. Or not. With the last 2 show seems like he is going in the wrong direction. Still one of the few must watch this season. Was sure final ep was going to fix the show in the most impossible way but it seems it never was planned to be something memorable from the start.
Chikai was incapable of supporting him emotionally
>you were saying that Toi would have been happier with his brother alive,
The show tries to say he wouldn't be, but realistically he probably would've been. Family in organized crime is better than no family whatsoever, no realistic shot at a future whatsoever, and two "friends" who are only friends because the narrative said so. Toi had nothing in the end and the MUH FUTURE angle was completely retarded.
The samefaggotry in here is embarrassing. You don't have to stay if you're so mad about the show, stupid faggot.
Toxic relationships.
You don't have to stay if you don't like what's being said.
it's not really obsessed, but if Ti didn't throw that anklet he wouldn't have met Enta either
Ikuharafag please fuck off
The fact that Toi was much more compelling and yet Kazuki was the MC and took up more of the first half of the show than he really needed, how underutilized Keppi and Sara were, the fact Enta is the one-sided gay pining character in every Ikuni show except with even less to him, how much exposition there is that consists of just characters telling you how they feel instead of showing events, how ultimately the chemistry between the main trio wasn't that good and didn't sell me on their relationship in the ending.
