Glad to see the author has the capacity to expand the chapters from more than just her being mindfucked by random ghosts. I've seen so many mangakas getting serialized over one concept that became popular and have no idea what to do with it or expand it properly and just keep repeating the same initial idea over and over.

So would her recognizing them actually change anything? Does she have any reason to expect as much? Is it a jap thing? If shes just guessing why doesnt she try talking to a seemingly nice ghost like her dad or a similar one.

Because for one, she doesn't know what the rules are for this type of stuff, so she doesn't know if her dad will freak out and maybe do something weird, or vanish if he has to interact with her, plus demon horse ghost was there.

In general she's just scared of what will happen if she lets these entities know she is aware of them.

It's a Jap thing but even the ghost have shown that if you notice them they'll start fucking with you. In the latest chapter the big guy was threatening as soon as it thought they might be able to see it.

Ide try talking to a nice ghost. They seem rarer but they are around weve seen at least 2. I guess it is a risky thing but they dont seem to have any power in the real world. Still i dont think I would want to risk simply having a small army of nasty fuckers that screetch 24/7 follow me around.

Another one is a "birth monster" yokai that kills its human mother after she gives birth if it is not cared for properly during pregnancy.

New girl is cute but I hope we get a real plot soon. The gimmick is starting to get boring.

The predator ghost actively used Hana's life force to cook other ghosts before devouring them, and it was enough to make Hana hungry because of her energy being drained.

Miko sees normal people pass through them without noticing. But when she walked through the itchy hanged ghost it began following her around.

The cheap bracelets from the department store actually did work to ward away the lesser ghosts. The Godmother's bracelets were no doubt more powerful. They may have broken in the end, but it did drive the creature to react and return to the alley instead of following Miko.

Julia has been open about seeing the little guys and the still humanoid ghosts... but it seems like the ghosts she sees are mostly harmless and don't try to tell bigger ghosts that she can see them. If she could communicate with the ghosts directly she might have asked them what the rules were, but she doesn't seem to be able to hear them.

It's a japan thing although the west does have similar concepts pop up occasionally.
Basically the trick to most ghosts is to ignore them because if they realize you can see them they can kill you.

Well, the shrine was neglected. No one was around and parts of the fencing had fallen down.

Miko's name might be too on the nose if she is destined to become the shrine maiden for the fox god. Trading protection for taking care of the shrine.

In the Fatal Frame games the Camera weapon was a double edged sword.

It let you see and fight the ghosts, but it also attracted them and bridged the two worlds allowing them to attack you directly.

Being unaware didn't quite help the others. Those not directly killed in a cataclysm still eventually succumbed to the curse, being possessed, trapped, driven mad or slowly brought closer to the other side until they were able to be attacked.
