If you didn't get spoiled, season 1 is pretty great. Season 2, while it has some up, is too long for it own good and one of the villain out stay his welcome. Season 3 is full hype train mode at the moment.

You can synchro in any situation not just ones where speed is the only option. 5DS speed autism didn't come until later. Not everyone who used synchro was a speedy person. Some of the best duels were standing on the ground.

Somewhat disagree. Fusion was pretty simple, it's pattern is only monsters merging, so if the animation has it, it's ok. While Synchro's pattern was pretty organized, and had separated functions for tuners and non-tuners, which not allows major changes.

Thats only because they don't have a pattern or concept, the only thing they need is the animation of the spell being accurate

But the synchro summon still had speed on stand duels. Also, the speed argument is really only personal. While the speed is not really part of synchro concept till accel, it being a fast summon(time and animation wise), was what made it good and also better than vrains and arc-v ones.

That really depends were you put the "synchro starting animation" and "synchro ending animation". Most of the big monster summons were only long because they had preparations like monologues before the summon or weird hype calls (like Yusei turning gold). The summon itself (tuning rings and the monster appearring) was fast.

There's not enough focus on yugi becoming a strong warrior. Most of the focus is on him having to work with atem or having to be bailed out by him. There's not much to support Yugi being able to one v. one bakura or atem by the end of the series. It's really a focus issue prevalent through out most of the series.
