Because it's a self insert genre for retards? You can count good isekai on one hand.

Because its wish fulfliment targeted at miserable people. Hence why most of them are also harem.

What should happen, and sometimes does, is that the MC is overwhelmingly OP at first but then meets some foe who genuinely gives him trouble.
That sort of happens with the OP pic, if I recall correctly. He struggles with the latest boss and has to work with the other characters to win. This is a more reasonable situation.

did you tried with otome isekai or any FMC isekai?

Most isekai is aimed at suicidal salarymen or fat faggot NEETs living with their mom.

Did you read Mushoku tensei? The MC it's not that op at all I really liked at the time

When it comes to naroushit
>really popular =/= good
is nearly always in effect

that manga I got bored on chapter 15 and dropped it.
main character goes from school to fantasy world, gets betrayed and eats some demons and becomes OP, meets OP girl and they wreak everything.

>when the MC is not at all powerful he gets shat on
what does Yea Forums mean by this?

Attached: Natsuki_Subaru.png (1280x720, 556K)

It becomes that way through manipulation that always goes their way.

>It becomes so boring
Because a "hero's journey" in story writing always works well
> i.e not being overpowered

>Why is it that every Isekai manga that I read the main character becomes so OP? It becomes so boring
>Instead I'd like to see the "revolutionary idea" of an MC who starts off weak and then "by sheer coincidence" (or "due to fate") always runs into progressively stronger antagonists who just so happen to be just the right amount of stronger than the MC that it becomes "challenging", "tense" and "exciting", because who does not love "underdog" MCs? If only there was a weekly magazine release of about 20 or so pages per series that was much more popular than isekai!
Oh wait...

what are you trying to say?

>and sometimes does,
like?

Should make one where the mc starts off op as fuck then progressively gets weaker till he dies a pitiful death

In the WN it's revealed that there are many others as powerful/more powerful than him.
The worldbuilding is really good and the plot would have been really good too if only it didn't turn into a shitty harem

>what are you trying to say?
I am saying that if you don't like isekai for being boring specifically due to an OP MC, then you'll I recommend you to read shounen manga (or their anime adaptations) instead.
Also pointing out the fact that isekai is a response to shounen, i.e. people got tired of "progressive power levels that cause inevitable power creep" and don't want to go through repetetive "training arcs" any longer after seeing them happen in tens, maybe hundreds of different series. Isekai is the solution, since they skip the "training arcs" entirely and antagonists are usually not progressively stronger anymore, at least not in the sense that they perfetly scale to the MC.

But Goblin Slayer isn't op

Attached: goblin slayer.jpg (387x411, 55K)

but that leave us with the reverse problem: why should I care if there are no stakes in the fights? Why there should be fights at all?

being half way through the manga, when does the character actually stop being OP against others?

Never, they will introduce a character that will give him some trouble in the first few minutes, then she will get curbstomped as usual. Drop it while you can.

Its not about that though, its just that through many of the isekai manga I've read through, it feels like im reading the same thing over and over again, it becomes super tedious and makes it hard to keep on reading

Modern male protags are so shit in every genre. Either they are so weak they make Shinji look like a man's man, or they are OP edgelords who never face any challenge and don't have any character development.

You don't need to be kept in suspense for a story to be good. Do you complain about the movie "Titanic" since you already know the ship is going to sink?

>Do you complain about the movie "Titanic" since you already know the ship is going to sink?

that's different, that's tragedy. You still care about the journey that led you to the end (and that's why Cameron spend half the movie to make us care about the characters).

Isekai is more akin to a slasher movie: you know that the cast will die, so you don't care and you 're just here for the killing scenes.

Explain to me the significance of 'character development' please; it seems like a sacred cow of literary criticism to praise character development i.e. the gradual change of characters' personality, but what if they start the story with a personality you like, and never change it? It can't just be le monomyth meme, right?

I know right? Should've added "likeable" somewhere in the OP to avoid pansy faggots too.

GS is not Isekai. And, no, native Isekai is not a thing.

After the demons appear. He loses against them in the second or third dungeon if I remember correctly

Not only is Bookworm not OP, she has aids and continues to have aids throughout the series.

Attached: 1560984718712.jpg (520x649, 185K)

Priestess is.

Yes, magical aids due to high mana.

hows the Tensei Shitara Ken Deshita manga? Any good or trash like all the others?

>him
>fem protag

There are so few not garbage isekai series but they exist.

Attached: 1560632787371.png (1076x1600, 444K)

It's okay.

The mana isn't the source of her aids.

>You can count good isekai on one hand.
Name them. 5 or less good isekais.

It is the source of one of her two aids, the one that's killing her.

This
>tfw best isekai is barely an isekai
>tfw it has no manga even though it'd translate perfectly
Fuck the nips for only caring about haremshit and wish fulfillment instead of actual fucking stories

It's meh. If you're really interested in the story then you might enjoy it but it's nothing special.

Attached: eliza6.jpg (225x300, 32K)

Take the Otome pill.

Attached: katarinasama.jpg (188x268, 16K)

It's a pretty good manga adaptation, and the source material is better than most isekai. Your enjoyment likely depends on your views on video game systems, and murder hobos.

>Fuck the nips for only caring about haremshit and wish fulfillment instead of actual fucking stories
Literally everything about the LN was handled wrong, you can't blame that on the audience.

>have the ability to redo when you die

Are we talking about the same one?
I'm talking about Arifureta

>Literally everything about the LN was handled wrong
Are you talking about Eliza's LN or a different series. I heard the Eliza LN abridges a whole lot of shit but is it that bad? I've only read the WN for the former, where it spends 150 chapters before even getting to the DOOD FANTASY NOBLE HIGH SCHOOL and 220+ to get to the start of the "otome game".
Is it translated anywhere?

At least he doesn't just blast every enemy to oblivion and has to do trail and error which is more original and interesting

Yes, I'm talking about Eliza. For whatever reason it was published under a very female-oriented label, and had retarded changes like Kamil being alive. It got cancelled after three volumes.

I prefer shojo battle academy.

Attached: D9VEkg5UIAEVUV7.jpg large.jpg (700x988, 122K)

>2019
>people still don't understand the concept of self insert wish fulfillment
the issue is that you aren't Japanese, so you can't properly self insert yourself into the story like you are supposed to

>and had retarded changes like Kamil being alive
The fuck? I feel like that was a pretty major plot point? Then again, I guess Ratoka in the light novel somewhat takes his place after he and Eliza learn to trust each other.
Though I feel like the shipping side of things got kinda fucked since Ratoka might be related to Eliza and there relationship goes on to become more like brother and sister.

There is stuff like Murabito desu ga Nani ka?
Where the focus is on getting stronger, even if it ends with the protag rolfstomping everything without being as stylish as Goku.

>put tags
>read what you like
Retard op kys.

Attached: 13 pages.png (365x68, 5K)

> Why is it that every Isekai manga that I read the main character becomes so OP? It becomes so boring

This is why KonoSuba is one of the best. MC never really becomes broken OP and it remains mostly a joke comedy series.

This. I was enjoying arifureta for what it was, then got compelled to read the wiki. I saw that man get 9 wives, including his teacher, I quit. Kaori is the worst girl, and she lived. I fucking hate her.

Don't read isekai.

He doesn't become broken OP but the story does become more of a power fantasy later on.
There is a volume where he takes on the entire royal castle filled with adventurers and heroes and only meets a legit challenge when he goes against his own party and even then he succeeds.

>there are many others as powerful/more powerful than him
Who? Literally the only enemy that actually manages to defeat him is the literal fucking god of the setting and he immediately develops a bajillion counters to him and kicks his ass.

where are her tits at LOL that's a boy

>reading for MC instead of cute girls, especially cute loli

Attached: 141.png (851x1200, 833K)

It's a straight up comedy gag manga now. Shit is weird.

Who is this meme girl and why do I keep on seeing her?

>complains about wish fulfillment

I presume it's an isekai protag

pastebin.com/8iiqeh87

well, sure works better than if you are white

>Much shorter list
I also update my list every few days(have like 10 more to add)

Removing all the comments and duplicates, mine is over 20 titles longer already... And it's getting semi-regularly updated as well.

>muh list is better than yours
Why don't you use a trip and start expecting people to suck your cocks, you cancerous faggots?

Then stop reading isekai and start reading regular fantasy manga and LNs.

>Duplicates
Says the one who put all those derivatives like transmigration ones in 5 star. Atleast I separate them into category. When I mention 'Villainous Noble Girl Isekai' I mean it, if it's a derivative I have put it under derivative tag. If your one was purely villainous noble girl isekai, I would have agreed but you have mixed so many derivatives with 'Otome List'(do they even have anything to do with Otome Games?) that you have no right to complain.

Also,
>putting shit in 5 star

There's quite large difference between duplicate and derivative, I suggest you look it up. And complaining about derivatives when talking about narou novels is frankly absurd.
And you clearly don't mean it with 'Villainous Noble Girl Isekai', since you have series there that have nothing to do villainous noble girls and isekai.
To begin with, villainesses already receive unjust attention on Yea Forums compared to other such novels for no good reason, so I didn't feel the need to further highlight them. The name is simply from Yea Forums colloquially calling this type of novels otome regardless of game or whatever, or what, should I call it female oriented novels list (and then have to add and remove some novels)?
Better than hilariously wrong, short 'good ones' list.

Are there any genderbender isekai where the male MC vehemently tries his best to remain a masculine male? All the ones I can think of either become whores, fanservice or some androgynous crap.

That's because the available chapters for most of the isekai manga are too low. Isekai stories usually start off similar and then become different as time passes. Here most isekai don't even have 10 manga chapters and are monthly so they might feel "identical" due to the similar settings and the fact that the stories didn't break off from their introductions yet.

Doom-Hajime was such a treat. Shame it went to shit so fast
RoGa is too good for this dumpster fire

Please enlighten me what you mean by 'duplicate' ? Did I put the same series twice?
I have series that have nothing to do with Villainous Noble Girls and Isekai and I have put them under derivatives. You literally put everything under 'Otome Games Isekai'

novelupdates.com/series/the-beautys-secret/

That's one.

Attached: constanza.jpg (285x279, 17K)

To be frank it's not isekai, but it's like a native isekai setting for the Villainous Noble Girl isekai genre since it uses a lot of the same tropes.

>Did I put the same series twice?
I thought it was obvious I meant that.
And you have series there that have as little to do with Villainous Noble Girl Isekai as having a noble girl as the MC, with no actual shared tropes. That's already out of the realm of derivatives. Besides, I didn't call it 'Otome Games Isekai', but simply 'Otome', for the reason outlined above.

>not isekai

Mushoku Tensei, MC starts off really powerful but then realizes he an't shit and its functionally handicapped and gets his shit pushed in by anyone who can actually fight.

I didn't duplicate anything in my list.

Aw yeah, Makoto embracing his murderhobo tendencies in the manga now.

Attached: V20.jpg (844x1200, 649K)

I read and enjoy a lot of trashy isekai.
But Arifuerta is LITERALLY the worst thing I have ever read.

You niggers told me he was a complete psychopath who faked his emotions.
Killing a bitch who caused the death of people you cared about and betrayed your trust in cold-blood doesn't mean you are a psycho.

Gun Ota and Re:Monster are worse.

Sure about that? I see at least 4.
novelupdates.com/series/slow-prison-life/
novelupdates.com/series/akuyaku-reijo-ni-koi-wo-shite/
novelupdates.com/series/the-splendid-daily-life-of-the-mother-devouring-princess/
novelupdates.com/series/my-sister-told-me-to-give-up-my-fiance

Re Monster is just an incredibly incompetent author who cannot into storytelling and Gun Ota is just boring.
Arifuerta is just painful to read.

It's actually what you asked for. MC is actually a boy but everyone thinks he is a girl and he desperately tries to prove that.

Hajime outwardly respects your opinions but internally he despises them.

I don't know, pal. I hated Arifureta but I got through 99% of the main story before I dropped it.
I couldn't get past the second arc of Gun Ota due to how retarded and cringey the plot was.
Also at least Re:Monster and Arifureta have mediocre manga adaptations while Gun Ota's looks like it was drawn by a 9 yo with down syndrome.

Don't know what you are upto but CTRL+F tells me they only appear once in my list

I like the the one where the MC gets reborn as the female main character of his sister's favorite H-game that's essentially a porn parody of Snow White and has most of the routes end with the MC turned into a sex slave and gangbanged.

That was a good fap.

That event isn't the reason.

I think he's more of a sociopath, not a psychopath.

Lines 79&102, 80&103, 97&101, 122&127.

move aside sword dad, there's a new flying sword and loli in town

Attached: x17.png (847x1200, 423K)

I want Isekais where the genderbent MC is reborn as a sex slave

There was a semi-popular manga called Suzuka where the MC and a girl got together. The end is the girl being teen pregnant and them being a couple.
Then years later he writes a sequel with their daughter who is best girl. It's even named after her. It goes on for a bunch of volumes.
Then out of nowhere she gets run over by a 30 foot wide teleporting ninja truck and dies.

『Shirayukihime to 7 Nin no Koibito』to iu 18 kin Otomege Heroin ni Tenseishiteshimatta Ore ga Zenryoku de Oujitachi kara Nigeru Hanashi

Fixed

Attached: 11.jpg (1070x1600, 684K)

Oh, fuck, yes, it was a sociopath. I'm a retard and got them mixed.
Still, he doesn't strike me as one.
Yes but from the way everyone talked about it it was as if Makoto was Johan Liebert or some shit like that when his actions in this chapter don't seem that shocking to me.
If anything, him not giving a fuck about the people who died or were hurt would make him more of a serious sociopath.
I'll wait and see then. I thought this was the "Makoto is actually fucked up" thing everyone talked about and it seemed pretty tame to me.

If someone doesn't get transported from another world (be it through a summoning, some portal or a god reincarnating them) then it's not isekai.
And no, a character being thrown into a new environment that is completely new from what he used to be doesn't count as being transported to another world and neither does any other forced interpretation you try to make of "transported to another world".
I also personally don't consider time travel and similar shit to count as isekai, but it's not really something I'll defend vehemently.

That's just the first time he kills a person as far as we know. He doesn't appear to care quite so much later.

>Explain to me the significance of 'character development' please; it seems like a sacred cow of literary criticism to praise character development i.e. the gradual change of characters' personality, but what if they start the story with a personality you like, and never change it? It can't just be le monomyth meme, right?
In theory a character will be tested in some way through a trial, conflict, or adversity, and through that experience they grow as a person. If the character was not changed by the experience that makes the whole purpose of the journey worthless.

Take Han Solo in Star Wars as an example. He starts out the film as a man who only acts in selfish greed. Over the course of the movie he is shaped by empathy for the struggle the other characters are fighting against the Empire. At the end of the film he seemingly takes the money and runs as his old self would have, only to return at the climax of the film, risking his life to save his friends and to contribute to their cause. Han Solo would be an extraordinarily boring character if he never returned at the end of the film because the events of the film did not affect him in any way.

is Digimon Adventure an Isekai?

source pls

why are you so retarded

I think that user is trying to argue character development isn't something that must always happen, specially when a character already has a personality the audience has.
Han was a cunt at the beginning of ANH so him becoming more sefless was good. You could even compare him to Leia, who only drops the naughty and bitch attitude a bit but overall doesn't have much character development because her personality is fine as it is.
I would say a story not having character development is fine if the MC is an adult and/or someone who already had his journey in his backstory and already has a defined personality. The probem with isekai is that that's not usually not the case and you get an autistic teenager who never stops being an autistic teenager despite having a shitton of experiences that should cause some change in his barely developed personality.

Multiple people looked at this and thought it was okay, then put it on the internet and begged for money.

Attached: s4.png (985x1400, 780K)

*a personality the audience likes

Isn't the one about the milf and her son, the son is just an ordinary guy?

>the problem is that it isn't like real life
Ah yes, why did I expect anything different from you retards

They also divided the chapter in two parts (despite uploading whole in their own site) and put a 6 hours delay between them despite the first part being 5 pages long.

Nice non-argument, faglord.

I don't care about your english class bullshit. I want to see a character that's cool and always succeedes at things I fail at in real life. do you even understand what wish fulfilment is?

Because it's a wish fulfillment genre.
Loser neets would love nothing more than to be transported to their favorite video game world and not be a loser anymore

you do realise you're feeding the baitposters right?

It would have been good if not for bunny girl and MC suddenly becoming OP and making fucking all powerful guns out of thin air as if he has actual knowledge how to build them

Plate armor was invented in the mid 1200s and remained in common use until the late 1600s.
Firearms were introduced to Europe in the mid 1300s.

For reference, the medieval period is from 476 (fall of Rome) to 1453 (fall of Constantinople).
Plate armor was not a thing for most of the medieval period, if you were under that impression you are a victim of Victorian romanticizing.

Also worth note, it was fashionable for armorers to put a bullet dent in plate armor before selling it to show that it was "bullet proof."

>love the MC

>Read Dragoon
>MC is like Harold but replace tsundere with autism

>MC is a boring pussy-ass bitch
>hate him

hard to believe Sevens is from the same author is there any good reason to read it?

Is there even villain isekai that doesn't instantly try to make the MC completely justified in his evilness?

define "justified"
given the power fantasyness of isekai they are obviously not going to give an ending like Death Note or produce a guy that's moral/strong/wise enough to take the MC down.
But I can at least name one isekai where the MC caused a horrible horrible Apocalypse fucking over many innocent people just for his own goals.

The MC is dick and is honest about it (and so is the writing) instead of the usual "B-BUT THEY WERE BAD TO HIM SO THEY DESERVE IT" or "H-HE IS JUST D-DOING WHAT H-HE T-THINKS IS R-RIGHT".
As long as the MC is a legit villain and not some faggy anti-hero or well-intentioned faggot, I'm fine with it.

I agree with you, and yeah sevens is shit. He never gets better, despites others claims that he developed towards the end. The harem walks all over him similar to the women of otome mob, except he does nothing about it because lol nipMCs.

well obviously Reverend Insanity
that and Summoned Slaughterer

How do you even write a story with an average powered MC and keep it interesting? It seems like 100 pages in people are going to start complaining about how there's literally nothing happening because MC is just facing slimes and other low level shit. Even if you have interesting characters, I doubt people would stick with it.

Therefore it ain't a isekai, you are factually wrong.

What do you mean by world

It's code in a machine, a virtual world thats not real.

Your post isn't real either.

he is OP when it comes to VRMMOs
You know I wish there was isekai that dealt with mods. Like the MC just uploading a bunch of bullshit into the fantasy world

The Skyrim doujin?

It is real, you read it, your brain processed and its now part of you
By replying to it, you validated the existence of the post.

How can your post be real if our eyes aren't real?

I can reply without reading I do it all the time

Then you have ascended to the meta level.

For all you know we might just be complex machines manipulating syntax.

Overpowered in a sense that he's naturally better than everyone. But he's not better than everyone because he has a vastly overpowered skill that lets him use high level forbidden magic that no one else can use. He's just better than everyone else just because he is.

Just a bunch of isekai MCs not enough to reach the apex

And then his empire only lasted so long like novem said it would. His latest direct descendant was used as a puppet to trigger a succession war and other horrible shit happening.

That's worse.

you can't reason with anti isekai fags, as they are left wingers who lost their minds due to constant use of social media and s o y drinking.

People actually replying to this bait thread.

but when I talk about the chink isekai that uses the same ideals and ethics as /pol/ you guys are all like "oh no how inhuman, MC shouldn't kill the people who threaten him and his loved ones and constantly pursue absolute power over all men!"

the other one ain't any better and the template one got 4-4

what?
I thought this was a typical isekai thread

Random stuff

>you guys
i demand evidence, as chink muderhobos are general accepted here, bar the real bad ones

what is this and why do i recognize the artstyle? its not porn is it?

Nice deflect.

The only thing Hajime struggles with is controlling his idiocy and trying to fit in with the world after escaping the first dungeon. Everything else is just hocus pocus'd into him out thinking the enemy like some chink protag or just being too strong to comprehend for anyone else that is supposed to give him trouble

>what is this

>why do i recognize the art

Two
Konosuba is a good comedy isekai, Yojo Senki is a great historical fantasy with a mediocre anime

duckfag begone

Dungeon Defense is coldsteel kino.

I totally agree with leaving out Re:Zero and Overlord though. Overlord has way too many open plot-lines and the author isn't intrested in ever closing them.

that's what you get for making something outta a d&d campaign

based cunny poster

I mean I like isekai (more like obsessed with it)
but most of them are horrible and even the best ones are probably not even as good as One Piece. Most of them are amateur webnovels. It came from the internet the place with excellent examples of writing like B^U, fanfiction, Yea Forums, this post, this thread, reddit, Youtube Comments, etc. and it's reflected in isekai as the good are still flawed while the bad are REALLY bad like worse then the bad shit that comes from other genres (Fairy Tail is a mediocre battle shounen but if it was isekai it would be one of the top tier ones).

and sure you might be right that it does trigger politically what with all the rape, slavery, genocide, imperialism, etc. Originally I was trying to ignore them and enjoy the power fantasy but then /pol/ comes here and try to use them to justify the IRL versions of this shit every time kinda lending credibility to the leftist whistle blowers that claim power fantasies encourage people to become women-hating nazis

That wouldn't be a problem if the author wasn't a retard who thinks he can end the story in the next 7 volumes in a satisfactory way.

12 kingdoms is better than OP

most of the post wanking chinkshit is me and some other guy samefagging over and over (rest are flavor of the month like ISSTH and RI)
though most post shitting on it is probably also one guy samefagging over and over (everyone else just doesn't give a fuck)

>Overlord

I really want to get into this show, but I can't. Ainz is cool, but the rest of the cast exists just to stroke his boney cock. Ainz can't hold the show up on his own. Maybe I'd like it more if I was into MMOs and DnD.

>I know the story that I reading better than the author

Don't worry, no one here willl force you to like overbored cause every overboredfag already payed their thread tax.

I don't need to know the story better than him, I just need to not be retarded enough to realize he opened a million plot threads, the story itself has barely dealt with any legit threat within the setting and he just wasted two fucking volumes with the Holy Kingdom shit.
It's impossible to end the story in the next 6-7 like he claims he wants to do unless he rushes the shit out of it.

You say it like you are not whinning about it in an anime forum full of people who at least enjoy the media the board is dedicated to.

If he can't finish it in 6 or 7 volumes as he said, then he can just raise the amount volumes. No need to start suffering before the ending is even near.

He can finish it in the next volume if he feels like it, I'm saying there is no way he can finish it in a way that isn't shit in so few volumes and yet he claims he plans to do that.

Please come back.

Is this it? The mythical female to male genderbender isekai?
And just like in all other genderbender isekais it doesn't matter, but hey, at least a (translated) work finally did it.

Attached: 37871.jpg (844x1200, 525K)

The novel outright states the baby is male and the manga shows the MC as female before reincarnation so, I guess? Unless the artist took some liberties.

>ISSTH
>flavor of the month
It was written five years ago and the translation finished two years ago, user.

Rereading the early parts of lazy dungeon master via the manga is making me terribly depressed at how it went from being something that pushed all of my buttons to something I couldn't care for.

Attached: Capture.png (680x1554, 550K)

What are WN people are talking about? Written novels?

Waifu Notes

Those are some amazing thighs

It stands for isekai

All sex is tape.

Yep, I enjoyed him masturbating to his niece in the tub and then reading an entire volume about his limp dick syndrome

Oh man, those are some amazing thighs.

Sahyuk actually has fans unlike basically every other heroine in TNE.

It's not the concept that is broken, it's the writers who lack the ability to write around it.
Since you've already established there's no conflict coming from the power creeping then you need to write around the characters, and we all know the average Isekai writer is utterly incompetent at writing anything but waifus and expanding the harem until it bursts.
So of course once the OP MC rescued damsel in distress #2415 you get bored and drop it.

>The MC it's not that op at all
Whats with that MangaDex description of the Manga? Literally says he becomes the strongest
>Because he has the knowledge of a middle-aged man, by the age of two, he has already become a prodigy and possesses power unthinkable for anyone his age and even older. Thus begins the chronicles of Rudeus Greyrat, son of swordsman Paul and healer Zenith, as he enters a new world to become the strongest mage known to man, with powers rivaling even the gods themselves.

>“Boss, they bullied us.”
Wow, Chao, getting your husbando to beat up your bully, very mature.

The description is shit.
While he is pretty powerful, there are dozens of people around who can murder his ass through the story and even near the end he only gets to become one of the strongest but not really the strongest, not even by a mile.

>he's not in for the dickMeat
Your loss.

I don't expect to see it happen, but one day I want to see Meat be used again.

Because if they weren't OP, the protagonist would starve or die in a majority of the stories or it'd just be plain boring.
Scenario: Appear in fantasy world. Option selection for a normal human.
>Death, by being mauled to death by fauna.
>Die, trying to digest flora.
>Don't, do anything of note, survive by yourself due to not understanding the local language.
>Be, Subaru.
>Be, Saito.
>Be, Slime.

>Vol 1 perhaps the best in any isekai
>Turns into haremshit as soon as it ends
I fucking hate the author

>Be, Saito.
As long as the summoner isn't a louise-tier girl, the backlash from the contract breaking wouldn't be that bad.

I love this artist. Please tell me this is at least decent.

Hahahaha

which one?

Wow, look at those rabbit nipples.

I don't know. The lack of struggle is boring as shit. I'm reading something about an MC who had to live for prison and learn the basics of the world - from how to speak and how the fuck do he survive on so much ash

>If someone doesn't get transported from another world (be it through a summoning, some portal or a god reincarnating them) then it's not isekai.
What's the difference in practice?

>現在、私こと『セフィリア』は生後3ヶ月目の乳児。この世界には男の子として生まれました。

When?

Attached: Isekai Protagonist.jpg (1128x1618, 432K)

so which is it

That's why I only read Isekai where the MC starts OP.
Namely, Sekkaku Cheat, where the MC just wants to sell potions and fuck whores, and The Hero Who Returned, which takes place after the MC has come back to Earth with all his abilities, spells, and gear on hand.

It's only one layer deeper than isekais. Sure, it's fun to read about author exploring the result of his own creations, but it kind of trips over it's own leg when it tries to do so. It strives to be a continuous story book-style while the most fitting format for it would be comic strips. It's good when author switches setting and explores new stuff, fantasizes about something new, but CONTINUING the same thread is very, very difficult for him, and when he tries to do so he fails miserably and you as a reader better skip the boring parts.

>主人公はWeb版で男児、書籍版で女児として産まれています。

Modern knowledge and perspective.
A layman being thrown into a fantasy world is Isekai. Some faggot going to the next country over is not.

For instance, A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court qualifies as Isekai.

Boy in WN, girl in LN and manga.

I just finished getting up to date in Cultivation 40k
They really weren't acting subtle with their metaphors last arc huh. Though I'm surprised a CN novel would care about that.

>chinks
>being subtle

>MC is a famous demon sword wielder
>Said sword will possess anyone holding them and make them mad, evil
>But MC is special so he won't become possessed
>MC looks like a rapist in every illustrated pic
What the fuck is going on here

Attached: 2.jpg (703x1024, 184K)

Can't go mad if you're always mad.

Yeah, but there's subtlety, and then there's making Donald Trump your arc villain.
And now it's cribbing from Asimov. FMoC is definitely one of the weirder xianxias.

tried to read that one several times, the translation is just too shit. Fucking sucks

He didn't just start OP either, he literally fought his way up from less than nothing and barely clinging to life.

Because you're reading Slice of Life with videogame mechanics, where the protagonists are put into a world where the people are so retarded that they don't even know what spices are

>Isekai Goumon Hime
Protagonist gets summoned into a clay doll by a demoness that has been forced by The Church to torture other demons to death. Only cheat ability is that the protagonist is very hard to kill since he's a soul inhabiting a golem, but is otherwise a mundane individual in a setting of demons and killers. A short 15 chapter series, but it works
>Kujonin
A slightly more generic Isekai where the protagonist is reincarnated into a fantasy setting, except he's an Exterminator before and remains an exterminator afterwards. Succumbs to a lot of the same shortcomings of a lot of Isekai, except he doesn't have a cheat ability-- merely dumb luck. He accidentally levels up retardedly fast because he poisoned monsters that were subsequently thrown into the wild to be eaten by other monsters, which started a chain effect where he got a lot of free EXP through poison.. It's at least a nice read since it really boils down to modern exterminator in a medieval setting
>Konjiki no Word Master
Summoned heroes in a fantasy setting, cheat ability, the works -- this one's at least entertaining to read since it takes itself lightly without being a parody of itself. The protagonist is one of the summoned heroes that abandons that role so he can go around and read books, eat good food, and generally indulge in the new world, while a lot of his good deeds are coincidence
>The Dungeon Master
Korean Isekai about a guy that's reincarnated as a monster that can only eat dirt and shit bricks. The setting allows you to implant your soul into other bodies, so he's later planted inside of a zombie that's given giant crab arms instead. The art is good and the story isn't bad, but the artist is doing military duty and the series is at a standstill as of now for that reason.

Of course author had to make MC a girl when getting published

>Isekai FeMC = more $$$

tl;dr'd closing thoughts due to reaching the word limit.

>Isekai Goumon Hime
Isekai only in name. Good short series.
>Kujonin
A little closer to generic Isekai, but at least entertaining due to the premise. Novelty wears off quickly though.
>Konjiki no Word Master
Decent fantasy adventure. The Isekai is really just the premise for it while it adopts its own identity down the road.
>The Dungeon Master
Recommended if you're into korean stuff. Read up to the part where the group deals with the giant toads and take a breather since it hasn't advanced far beyond this point in the story.

The only faggots that hate on isekai are ones too jaded with real life but too realistic to enjoy the most basic fantasy. These are the same autists that nit-pick different series for even the slightest of plotholes to criticize.

This series sucks so much. The protagonist is a complete loser who tries way too hard to be smart when he isn't capable of it.

>Konjiki no Word Master
found this boring, main character for some reasons says he doesnt care about others, then always in the end ends up helping them because a reason always comes up like muh books, muh food

I like how he got raped by the house in the last batch of chapters. Fucking hot.

>dude tournament arc lmao
What the fuck, why did this even happen, give my adventure back

Attached: confused fran.png (403x494, 155K)

is it harem?

The series can occasionally get a chuckle or two out of me, which is enough for me to check for updates once every couple of months. It's a bit lackluster, but at least has its own identity -- that's a hell of a lot more than I can say about most isekai

konjiki no lolimaster

It is but he doesn't want to fuck the dwarf because the dwarf is a man in everything but the penis.

>be Isekai manga
>Go in fantasy world
>have mana, hp, skills, abilities etc...
>explains theres different races half animal half human, elf, demons etc...
>MC Maybe OP already or become OP early on
>first few enemies are almost always Goblins
>Eventually fight big bad monster many times the size of Main character
>main character beats him no problem anyways
>MC gets a bunch of girls down the line because the author said so
This always almost happens with 90%+ of the Isekai Mangas out there. Its repetative and gets old, I've played Online games for hundreds of hours and now get bored of the same game fast, sometimes like Re:zero or kubasai is actually good

Stop bitching, you knew it was gonna happen before you even started reading this.

What does being jaded have to do with anything? The market is oversaturated with isekai that have the exact same premise and usually the same storytelling format, which ultimately boils down to slice-of-life wish fulfillment with fantasy and/or rpg elements so people don't realize it's slice-of-life. I personally like SoL to an extent, but despise generic isekai.

Fuck you, Shadow's tournament arc was great, especially when cid is present

>Konjiki no Word Master
Now that's an MC with absolutely zero drive, its amazing that the MC doing adventurous shit is actually completely out of character

It's better to have zero drive and do (sometimes-)interesting things than have infinite drive but never do anything interesting.

but why

Every genre is formulaic in their own way. From battle shonen to romance harems, you'd be hard pressed to find a series that's truly original. The only difference is that the tropes of other genres are so ingrained within art and pop culture that you no longer notice how repetitive everything is. Yuru Yuri is basically Sienfeld, Dragon Ball Z is basically Superman.

The concept of isekai is relatively new. So when you tropes like video games skills/levels appear in two different isekai series, it stands out more than say the love triangle trope with the second guy being 'a better fit' for the girl found in both Ore Monogatari and Romeo and Juliet. Because you're so use to the concept of love triangles that it doesn't bother you anymore, but you see a show talking about adventurer guilds and it immediately stands out to you because of how relatively new the trope is.

>Tensei Shitara Ken Deshita
too predictable, I already knew what was going to happen in the dungeon, as soon as they met the demon it was obvious they was going to ass blast him with ease. Come on now...
They're so strong that she regened her hands that was cut off

>adventurers guild
>allowing armed men and women who could potentially be extremely powerful and allowing them to organize through a non government controlled agency
who would actually allow these to show up in their kingdoms? It seems like a wonderful way to start a coup or civil war

Loads of people considering adventurer's were an actual thing and evolved throughout the centuries to be pioneers and scouts

Goblins aren't going to slay themselves.

>loads of people because they were pioneers and scouts
but this is a fantasy world with magic and shit with dumb power scaling

>when the isekai MC thinks about freeing the serfs

How can you not like Mr Lyle?

>if it ain't broke don't fix it.

Now this is yandere done right, by reincarnating in the world the brother will reincarnate into 15 years prior

Attached: l.png (536x742, 87K)

Someone hit that woman with a shovel, she's hysterical.

Because Isekai are only good if the MC is op. The problem is that once that is established the MC keeps on becoming stronger until he is stronger than gods.

Take for instance that Isekai where the MC is summoned to a world by a lazy but cute and clever goddess. He becomes super powerful and that is okay, but then it is revealed that every time he practices shooting his bow, he in essence dies and get reborn. Every time he gets reborn he becomes more powerful and now he is already stronger than the goddess that summoned him.

That kind of takes the wind out of the whole story.

This is definitely a bait.

Anyone here read Beatrice's Weakness? What do you guys think of the ending? And why haven't you read one of the most underrated isekai yet?
>Parallel world discovered by the Cold War
>Only humans can enter but not any other materials, including clothes, weapons or creatures.
>Human can only live in the world for 3 days before going insane and died.
>Dungeons contained secrets of overtechnology so the entire world wrapped up into an arm race for more overtech from isekai world.

library is pretty mediocre though, it's fun for a while then you realize how bad it is, same as 90% of wuxia

I read the first volume back when it was the only volume, I really need to catch up.

Everything we read is bad, yes, even that thing you like and think is good is actually bad, so just let the dude read his junk.

in which part of Japanese or eastern history exactly did people go around freeing the slaves and touting the values of democracy?

>japanese otaku
>knowing about eastern history
Probably author confusing history with some manga/novel plot .

That description is shit. He gains a massive amount of magic as a kid, but it turns out he is functionally handicapped. He lacks the ability to infuse his body with mana, so his physical stats are completely shit and has shit reaction times. His only saving grace is some demon eye he gets that lets him see a few seconds into the future, but he still can't fight anyone reasonable competent. The series itself doesn't put to much of a focus on fighting till the last third, where he gets his shit constantly pushed in.

Kuro no Maou has cursed weaponry. He looks mad too

Modern Japan had America's values of "no more slavery" rammed into its brain, this was in reaction to their use of Chinese and Korean and American PoW slaves in the WW2.

he's not touting the values of democracy for its own sake, he's an agent provocateur trying to cause regime change in a neighboring hostile power and install his own puppet empress so that his loose confederation of city states won't get invaded for arable land. Inciting an oppressed underclass to revolt was just one of the potential options

that shit only works if the slaves are brutally oppressed and we're talking chattel slavery here
serf and peasant uprisings only happen if the government really fucks up and even then were comparatively rare
the author should brush upon his history, abolishment of serfdom happened only thanks to black death

Because regardless of what every fag here says, we're always gonna wanna see the MC succeed.

Sure, but that's why he asked around first to gauge what the serfs thought of their lords, and dismissed it once he decided that it wouldn't work. the city states he came from were partly founded by mass escaped actual slaves from hundreds of years ago during the Republic era, so he was seeing if those still left behind were dissatisfied at all.

>the author should brush upon his history, abolishment of serfdom happened only thanks to black death
Except that in that exact screenshot, the serfs say they're content and have no reason to revolt. Why should the MC know everything that the author does?

It's like one guy commissioning all that art though.

The second they attacked Luo Chao they were destined to be beaten to the verge of death.

>no rape

>dat description
Here’s the deal, MC thinks he’s OP. The readers also think MC is OP. But then from some point he can barely win any fight or needs help and the readers realize the guy can be killed just as easily as normal people without magic.
It’s not about ‘building’ himself as a glass cannon though but every high level fighter in that world being terminator swordsman superhuman martial artist thanks to them wearing basically nen from HxH.

The series doesn’t focus on fights though but when it does they’re good mostly, second encounter with Orsted being the peak.

No. Her and her 2 level cap party members got beaten by a well-trained merc group in chapter 2 of the first volume.
Hell, Break News (boss level monster in-universe) can probably solo 99% human adventurers with little hope of human beating them outright unless there is one with specific skills that can beat one, in very special circumstances.

chapter 20 on this one, does it get better later on? Theres not much going on that is interesting so far

They get caught in a trap, that unequips Shishou and leaves him on the ground while teleporting Fran.

just befriend them lmao

I'm surprised they went to whole way to make a complete gender change for the mc though. I thought they would just make the guy get reborn as a girl if anything since it doesn't matter in isekai stories.
I appreciate it since genderbender is completely pointless in isekai stories beyond what you said though.

>just befriend them lmao
If you mean the Break News, that's literally what they did. Don't anger them, they don't fuck with you and sometimes will even help out.
Not that it matters since this is a Kamachi's series, half of the story would be investigating conspiracy both on Earth and isekai, not simply wandering the world being murder hobo.

Attached: Break News:Thousand Dragon.png (800x571, 206K)

so nothing really interesting happens?

>look at the isekai anime out
>besides Tanya nothing but male MCs

but there is FemMC isekai set to come out
eventually...

If you're expecting some grand bullshit to happen you're reading the wrong story.

I have to tell you user, I don't know what you would consider interesting so I can't say for certain. I can say that it results in the introduction of a familiar for Fran, who despite not having the skills from Shishou manages to hold her own for a bit against a further evolved spider, while the two dumbfucks that got teleported with her get knocked out almost instantly. Also Amanda finds out about Shishou.

Pretty sure the gay dwarf is fucking the plant girl now. He's not going to get that achievement completed.

If there a manga like re zero or Kono Subarashii? Those are very good, but when I keep reading other isekai manga they never deliver like these two. He isn't though, more like a pragmatist, later he squashed the head of three girls who he admitted to be good, righteous people but just happened to be on his way.

I will eat my fucking shit if discount mondaiji gets a fucking anime

yeah, after looking into my reading list I realize that Isekai isn't really my tastes

Attached: 1548703351923.png (740x894, 394K)

>as if Makoto was Johan Liebert
They are actually quite similar. The only difference is that Johan was raised by nazis while Makoto was by a cuck and a whore.

It's gonna happen.

yeah bud, Ill watch it when mushouku tensei, undead paladin and average come out as well.

Wouldn't the term "Danganronpa isekai" be more appreciate?

>I will eat my fucking shit if discount mondaiji gets a fucking anime
Start stuffing your face with your feces, user. Probably airing this fall. youtube.com/watch?v=zYDaxUvXP5k

As far as likely candidates go, Risou no Himo, Tondemo, Slime Taoshite, Isekai Meikyuu de Harem and Fairy Tale Chronicle are the top selling isekai without an anime or anime announcement. Risou no Himo and Isekai Meikyuu have kind of problematic content though.

It's a good start. Now he needs to make the serfs' life hell, put the blame on the empire, go to a beer hall and declares a revolution on the top of a tavern.

Because the point of the story is he becoming a god slayer/god of destruction and killing the goddess that summon him.

>that shit only works if the slaves are brutally oppressed
Which is extremely easy to bring for. Just do a few false flag operations to make the authority thinks the slaves are going to revolt so that they brutally suppress them in respond.

Just finished my backlog of Age of Adepts, Carfree Path of Dreams, Lord of Mysteries and Holy Sword. Currently reading Unbreakable and Okami Wa Nemurenai. Unbreakable is pretty ok so far being future events sent back to everyone but the mc then the apocalypse started. More interested in Okami because mc reminds me of BLAME!. Are there any more web novels like Okami?

>Yea Forums: I'm tired of these pathetic NEETs and Salarymen in isekai why can't there be Chads in the original world getting isekai'd?
>Japan: GREAT IDEA!

and that's why Yea Forums should never give ideas

Isn't that the one where he gets raped by his muscle wife

You know Adventure guilds are a bit better in normal fantasy that's just about an adventurer going up the ranks

>this shit
>PV
I was wondering why I felt like dying this morning
thanks bud, I might actually finally do it

The problem here is that you’re still approaching the story like it’s still a powerwank, the MC being relegated to fighting low level enemies, when he can use trickery to even the odds or punch above his weight. For example, he can take out two more powerful opponents by setting them up against each other and taking out the weakened survivor. He could also use his knowledge of the setting’s lore to take advantage of his opponent’s Achilles’ Heel. Make the story about the MC setting up situations where his more limited abilities are maximally effective. The big set piece moments are the payoff for the MC’s preparations. From a writing perspective, the main pitfall is that the story becomes a Bat-God scenario, but this can be prevented by having the MC make the occasional mistake and forcing him to work with limited resources, so he won’t be to perfectly counter everything that’s thrown at him, and he’ll be forced to improvise when his prep work falls short. The most interesting scenarios come from trying to work around limitations, rather than simply powering through everything.

After Smartphone I stopped having hope that anime would have quality control with isekai

sure the isekai before smartphone might not have been all that good but they tend to be adapted from some of the better isekai series (you think SAO is bad? try New Gate, you think Overlord is bad? try founded a nation in a week, you think Re:Zero is bad? try Kuro no Maou, etc.)

it isn't *his* ability and he gets screwed over by it all the time. he doesn't control it

>quality control
Was never a thing.

Re:Zero literally solved this 2 years ago. Too bad Yea Forums hated anything thats not "smooth"

this

I wish Overlord Ascension and Martial Emperor Reborn would hurry up and get picked up by the jews as Qidan so they can get good update rates (so I can rip it from boxnovel)

>You die and wake up in a body of an Arrogant Young Master, right next to you is the freshly raped body of the childhood friend of some trash who has crippled cultivation and the servant gave news that the person who you sent to kill that trash got killed by him.

wut do?

『Shirayukihime to 7 Nin no Koibito』to iu 18 kin Otomege Heroin ni Tenseishiteshimatta Ore ga Zenryoku de Oujitachi kara Nigeru Hanashi

The translation is deader than dead.

arifueta is tate no yuusha that refused to take the moralfag pills

(FYI, Anime tate no yuusha is really watered down of him, in manga, he is still a massive edgelord, unlike the "healing" route in anime)

The only series I'm confident is not going to get adapted is gookshit like Dungeon Defense

and Emperor Domination due to how OP the MC is (he makes the usually murderhobo MCs look underpowered and balanced in comparison)

>Kuro no Maou
That's good though.

>Betray your comrade in arms of 15 years in the mistaken belief you can ever beat Ling Lan
Might be the dumbest thing I've seen anyone in the story do desu, his comeuppance is going to be fucking glorious.
Li Qiye is literally a god walking among men, I mean honestly he's had 9 million fucking years to plan his revenge.

Run for the fucking hills.

The fact that they all believe that one research paper about god pilots is fucking hilarious to me. It's on the level of "YOU'VE GOT ALL THE GOOD GENES, SOLID, WHILE I'VE GOT THE BAD ONES".

That sounds like something out of a chink cultivation WN like Reverend Insanity.

LQYs revenge arc finished only a third of the way into his backstory
seems his deal is more being some horrible murder paladin (that is when he's not trolling everyone)

It's be fucking hilarious when her gender is revealed and the military will be completely dumbstruck.
He still hasn't gotten revenge on the sect that made him the crow though, what are you talking about?

Set up a big bomb inside the childhood friend and return her back to him.

Ling Lan being a woman is going to crush so many egos and shame so many people. Hoping she stops taking the drugs that keep her oestrogen from flooding her system so she can finally develop obviously female hips.

>Re:Zero
>bad
are you sure about that?

don't you remember the chapter when he buried the person that turned him into a crow in the first place after refusing to call him father because of it but declared their grudge ended after he died

hell this latest arc revealed that MC imprisoned the people in the sect in a horrible purgatory and stole most of their memories while he was still a crow hence why he refereed to himself as the insane ancestor since that's one of the memories he stole

Yes, I'm hundred percent sure that Subaru's Suffering Festival is garbage.

Who can possible have the face to challenge her once it gets revealed? Hell the only one who's gonna be especially giddy is Li (Mulan)Lanfang because he'll gladly be Ling Lan's fuccboi in that case.

Every series where the MC's goal is to just travel around and eat new food should be axed and the author should be executed to ensure he will never spawn something like that ever again.

didn't read it yet but if it's like other chink novels then they would probably just want to tame and fuck her

for chinks power is attractive regardless of gender

unless it's Dungeon Meshi

The goal of the party in Dungeon Meshi is to save the imouto and deal with the shit going on in the dungeon, the food stuff is just a bonus.

tell me a good Isekai manga then that isn't
>garbage

We're talking about a woman that spent 20 years pretending to be a dude and by the time she hit twenty managed to get a army of like 10k+ followers that would murder each other for the glory of being her seat.

Ling Lan's chose the Dominance Dao so she could become the strongest and push down the strongest man to give her the strongest baby, so I don't think that is gonna happen, ever.

>I-I-IT DOESN'T COUNT
Every time.

>Tensei Shitara Ken Deshita
Finished reading this.
Story is about her getting OP enough to evolve, and was only about to do it because of that OP sword. Why did the author thought it was a good idea to make it so OP that it can absorb skills and abilites of everything that moves?

I'm saying they would want to tame and fuck her if they found out she was a woman not that it would actually be possible.

Because even with all of that they're barely a B rank threat when combined? Shit like the holy sword of fire might only have like 3 skills but they're enough to shit on Fran+Sword+Dog a million times over.

to protect the cute cat daughteru of course

Yes, if the story doesn't fit what I said then it doesn't count, retard.

Yeah it does, dungeon meshi counts and is also shit.

The sword holds the soul of Fenrir inside it, the ability to absorb skills comes from Fenrir. Fenrir though has suffered a lot due to his abilities, as he was created to consume the various fragments of the evil god, but they started to corrupt him. Right now the sword is part of a system protecting him from that corruption and reversing the effect, by feeding him power filtered through the soul of a person from another world. The MC is basically just a firewall on the sword that stops the influence of the evil god, due to the evil god not having admin rights to souls from other worlds as he does to everyone in that world. Fenrir gets more out of each magic core than the sword does. The sword is in fact still weaker than the sword that it was reforged from. Also Fran's long term goals include removing the curse on her clan, which will require her to kill an evil S rank monster, which would be something on the level of Fenrir. She's really far from that goal.

good to know but for those who do like Meshi a food series could be as good as it but are often not because unlike meshi they don't go into depth with the food or the adventure.
Just a guy making delicious food and getting everyone to worship him for giving them delicious food. No exploring the world to find the appropriate ingredients or going the Toriko route and killing the monsters themselves just to prepare and serve them (Toriko got boring because he was an overpowered muscle fighter but imagine a mere mortal going full monster hunter on this shit to find the right meat) or showing what food means to the exotic cultures of the new world or using the food to get into the courts of various kingdoms like Nobunaga's chef or inspire parties of other adventurers like in LMS

it's just MC is a good chef, take our word for it and OP creatures and warriors follow him for a good meal.

>Hoping she stops taking the drugs that keep her oestrogen from flooding her system so she can finally develop obviously female hips.
I hope that actually happens some day but i just know the goverment will do something along the lines of "She lied to us for the inheritance therefore we will go full retard and deny her, the person closest to become another god operator, the right to pilot mechas"
Becouse you just know that's the next conflict right after its revealed she's actually a girl, you just know its going to be shit and there's nothing to stop it

>implying you can escape

The food is a shit thing to make it the main focus of the series.
Dungeon Meshi works because the focus is actuallly on exploring the dungeon and saving Laius' sister while the food helps that and contributes to the story. If it was just a party finding new food it would get boring pretty quickly.
Same with Bard Loen where the guy states his goal is to travel and try out food but he story quickly focuses on way more interesting stuff.

Nah, her dad is still the biggest dick in the army, they offend him and space japs and murricans are gonna eat them alive like locusts.

The traitors will fight tooth and nail to get her out of a mecha forever and it will be retarded as fuck, mark my words

Women are allowed to pilot mecha though. The only knock is that their physique generally doesn't allow them to advance beyond Ace tier operator. Not only has Ling Lan far exceeded that, she basically shits all over their report on the descendants of God Tier operators being mediocre at best. And if the government tries to get the inheritance back? Little Four has more money than god, so no issues there either.

That whole report is still funny to me. Guys, maybe after a family gives birth to a god tier mecha pilot another one doesn't get born because it's fucking rolling dice with god and the chances are so incredibly fucking small you'll get one in the first place so getting a second one from the same family is gonna take a fuck long time to happen? But nah, "their genetic potential" got exhausted, which is some of the worst pseudoscience I've ever heard. Genetics don't work like that.

I remember one about a demon lord that wants to become human so he shanks the others, and becomes more human, and weaker with each progressive kill.

>Women are allowed to pilot mecha though.
Im not saying it becouse she's a girl but becouse she lied to the almighty chink goverment, there will be a bunch of high power families that don't want them to have even more pull that they already have, plus the traitors will push for some kind of punishment

The problem is they take the talent evaluation right after birth WAY too seriously. It ultimately comes down to how broken a latent talent they awaken. Like would Ling Xiao have done what he did without his absolutely OP Duplication talent? No. Can't imagine how many kids got tossed by their families as failures due to that dumbass report before their talents awoke.

Oh, well good fucking luck trying to punish her now that she's joined the 23rd Division. The Federation(the 2nd and 3rd Marshal's factions in particular) will probably shit its pants knowing the 23rd can toss out TWO God tier operators who are young as fuck to boot.

Its actually OP because she literally beats everything so far except the A rank guild member. She'll soon be about to obviously beat A ranking members later on with that OP sword.
They probably would of been able to beat the A ranked member if the sword decided to move and use all its skills.

Can a novelfag tell me who shot the MC in the back?
The why is probably because he was close with the hot girl even if he was a loser, right?

It got watered down a lot

Attached: cvfr.png (1791x724, 985K)

It was Hiyama, and yes he did it because Kaori is in love with Hajime. Considering she literally never even looks his way even after Hajime falls into the abyss I'd have to say it was a retarded thing to do. His death is well deserved.

How do you guys choose which scanners to go with?

Attached: 1558917197821.png (1289x911, 81K)

It was the most obvious culprit.
The real surprise was that his betrayal was noticed by another classmate who is much more dangerous and cunning than his retarded bully ass and she uses that and his lust for Kaori to convince him to join her keikaku.

Well, I guess it was either him or one of the only other 3~5 classmate who were introduced at the time. Didn't notice that he could use/influence magic though, maybe it was pointed out in the novel at the beginning.
Is it someone that was named in the manga or?

>other one got isekaid'd
Heh.

hell the shield hero manga is a watered down WN

WN = edgy mad-scientist
manga = edgy tsundere
anime = grouch with a heart of gold

>Every genre is formulaic in their own way
Isekai devolves into the formula of making the protags so busted right off the bat. Battle shonen and romharem at least need time to build up to the point where the authors write themselves into a wall.

>Dragon Ball Z is basically Superman.
Most Superman comics are about dealing with moral dilemmas since there's few opponents that can actually face him. No part of Dragon Ball, be it DB, Z, Super, GT, or even Heroes deals with such a thing.

Which one of you motherfuckers is writing this:
scribblehub.com/series/33737/the-minotaur-paladin/

>not RR
royalroad.com/fiction/18943/the-minotaur-paladin
>likes litRPGs
I'll ask him if he likes that one and see if it triggers him.

Is there a way to keep them strong but not OP?

Yes. You just need to make the enemies even more OP. Mondaiji did that.

In terms of constant escalation, one user was right about Slime being strong yet not lording over everyone else in the setting.

Slime is filled with crap like the author making Rimuru hold back his own power for some stupid reason so he can the battles more interesting.

Slimeboy rarely fights after a point because he's straight up more powerful than the majority of the setting past his ascension to true demon lord.

I don't get how he escaped from the church lady.
Shouldn't she have noticed if he just cloned himself and hid in the grass?

He cloned himself before he entered the barrier, she can't sense him that way.

But he never purposely entered the barrier right? The church set it up around the area he was in.
In the manga at least he just gets warned by Souei and you never see any sort of clone set up.

Always go to the one with the Union Jack flag in front of the name

this the thread?

is that on the list?

>imagine being this much of a newfag

if you have to ask then yes

>Mushoku Tensei ~Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu~
Is this manga actually good?
On chapter 16 atm and the pacing is quite slow, there like 40 pages per chapter.

I just said the anime was mediocre
It barely explains the tactics or motivations of the countries or show any enemy povs. Everyone just sort attacks the empire for no real reason, it doesn't explore the geopolitics or philosophy of the world like the light novel does.
Although if the only thing you're interested in is the MC's looks, you're probably a lolicon faggot anyway, and the series would be wasted on you

Attached: stop.jpg (1000x1072, 120K)

What's it about?

Attached: Isekai Protagonist.png (2000x1600, 2.65M)

I fucking hate this isekai, is the truly definition of wish fulfillment

I like it because it doesn't want you to believe it's serious.

In general, ordinary highschoolers wouldn't outright kill another classmate because a girl looked at him. The mind and years of cultural ingraining tends to rebel against actual murder. This shit is actually unironically retarded.

Cute scarf.

We don't encourage the autistic fuuka poster in these threads, user.

>Because it's a self insert genre for retards
I find funny this excuse. Why would you call them like that if when asked nobody want to selfinsert in first place?

Peerless dad. Literally trained wrong as a joke.

>reincarnated as a dragon egg
Don't even bother. Check the reviews in NU and just drop that pile of shit.

>read a series called entitled young lady
>MC randomly picks up a shota and nurses him back to health
>/ss/ ensues
>chapters are slow as molases
>find out the manhua adaption called Peerless Alchemist had translations that went passed the novel's
>read it
>instead of shota it's a typical bishounen

I want my money back

I have barely read chinkshit and I'm curious.
What kind of cheats does a chink MC usually gets? Is it similar shit to the japanese or completely different stuff?

mangadex.org/title/19589/hiraheishi-wa-kako-wo-yumemiru
reincarnated nobody in the future, somebody in the now
>inb4 native isekai

chinks cheats are not as broken as their Jap counterparts. Mostly they're like battle shounen protags as far as the powers they get.

though they do have stupidly thick plot armor as the novels themselves put it "they're like cockroaches"

They usually get some kind of item or existence that grants them knowledge and skills from a different(read: much more powerful) realm. Getting access to cultivation techniques that are absurdly powerful compared to the ones of that era usually carries them during the start where they tend to be regarded as trash or weak.

usually a power that can allow them to kick the ass of everyone 1-5 levels above them

There is this one novel, the worst offender, that calls plot armor as 'destiny'.
>"You can kill him easily because he has a strong destiny!", "He obtained [thing] because of his strong destiny!"

How would you make it so that they still become powerful and get a harem without being OP, then?

They could have a personality that a girl would actually find charming instead of the usual "he is kind" crap, for starters.
A clear goal would help too, it would allow them too work towards something while becoming powerful and an ambitious and determined man is more attractive than a faggot who does nothing of worth with his life and has no dreams or aspirations other than eating raw fish and rice 24/7.

Luck?

>Qi Long raised his head. His face with bloody red tears was easily seen. There was determination in his eyes, the kind that would enable one to do anything for someone without regret.
>“I, Qi Long, promise that I will become Boss’ shield. If anyone wants to harm Boss, they’ll have to get over my dead body first!
>“I, Qi Long, will fight for Boss to the bitter end with no regrets!”
Honestly, with how many "friends" and followers of MC's that take their strength and protection for granted, Qi Long and the rest are a serious breath of fresh air. Ling Lan actually wanting people to walk BESIDE her instead of BEHIND her is nice as well.

Why is she so great? I want to breed her so bad.

Attached: 1555942580518.png (900x1280, 926K)

are there any COMPLETED novels I can read that have satisfact ending?

there's not even good endings in good series you expect too much from isekai

Epilogue
I became a Hero in a Pandemic
PLIC
Sevens
Dragoon
If you see it from Hermione's perspective, Home and its sequel Return.

>200+ New Cadets claiming to have been injured by the very people they stomped out
God so deliciously shameless.

There's a h-manga called Isekai Whorehouse, if you didn't know.
