>The big bad of the arc is defeated by a supporting character
Name a better trope. Pro tip: you can't
The big bad of the arc is defeated by a supporting character
>the built-up big bad curbstomps the MC
>the MC is (one of) the weakest in the group
Stone Ocean in a nutshell
>mc lets villain go after a smackdown and realizing he isn't as bad as he's made out to be
>the mangaka ruins the best character by doing something retarded
What is heavy weather
>the bad guys team up to defeat the mc
>the "villain" overcomes the overwhelming powers of friendship, justice, and plot armor all alone
>have the villain want to change the world for the better
>make him do dumb evil shit just so you justify having the hero who had no agency win
Fuck status quo and fuck hacks
>The bad guy like it really rough guy chest always so puffed guy is actually a tough guy
The MC struggles to beat the big bad but is then joined by his friends.
It's so cheap yet it gets me every time.
>Villain uses the power of friendship
What really bugs me about the heavy wheater thing is that the same amount of urgence/danger could've been acomplished with weather's base habilities, that's how broken he is.
Why the fuck would araki just asspull a retarded nothing to do with the stand hability out of nowhere for absolutely no reason.
Its almost like Weather was made for suffering.
>MHA
fuck off
He could do that in his base form but in a very short range, so he'd need to get close
>triggered over a small contribution
Seek help.
In HxH case it makes sense. Pitou has been set up by the narrative as MC's: Gon's enemy, Meruem was the strongest ant and their king but he was not the big bad of the arc, Pouf was. Meruem and Gon never even interacted with each other.
I hated this fight because it's basically natural talent/genetics vs hard work/training and the latter gets stomped
>the big bad and MC used to be best buddies and refuse to fight each other
Very nice
>villain is never surpassed
>villain did it all for love
Name one
>The big bad of the arc is defeated by a supporting character
In extreme case:
>Some random jobbers kills the villainous mastermind while he is monologing.
What's the most surprising, unexpected example of this?
It's pretty much the same level as HxH though
>Dude what if like, Humans are the REAL monsters man
>the declared "strongest" in the story fights another strong character who came out of nowhere
>the "strongest" lost
Netero’s death scene was so fucking badass, god damn
Just like real life
Only brainlets consider that the take-away from chimera ant.
>TV tropes
Fuck off
>The big bad of the arc is defeated by a team of scientists
I like how Meruem was defeated by technology as Netero talks about humanity's endless capacity for evolution.
whatever makes you sleep at night my man
>weak supporting character wrecks the antagonist when he's distracted
>later in life after becoming stronger he wrecks him again in a fair fight so hard it cripples him
>deux ex machina your mc with help of a tranny
>genetics win over hard work.
The Big Bad gets defeated by the actual protagonist.
