Kira has always been kind of cocky because of his tendency to luck out of bad situations, now he pretty much had his "great luck" manifested in an ability to fuck off from awful spots no matter what, he got super confident and pushed his luck too hard while still being an evil motherfucker.

kira wouldn't know how kosaku kawajiri behaves normally. Hayato first became suspicious because he feels his father was acting weird so he would still be suspected by hayato.

Why is this an asspull? Kira was FUCKED, his bones were destroyed by Jotaro. He would either die or go to jail just like Akira. The ambulance provides an iconic end to his character.
