Sound of the Sky

Would a season 2 be a blessing or a curse?

Maybe a curse? Does it really need a second season? It was a fantastic post apocalyptic fantasy sol with good world building and a satisfying conclusion. I'd rather just have another anime like it. Girls Last Tour came pretty dang close

I feel like Sora no Woto is the kind of thing you can only pull off once. Even if you got the same people to put the same kind of love into a sequel, it probably just wouldn't be the same.

Who the fuck calls this Sound of the Sky?
You aren't a dubfag, are you?

Do people actually like this shitty pretentious version of K-On?

I'd say GLT shat upon Sora no Woto. Either way there was a lot of fun there.

Girls Last Tour definitely had a similar feel to it, I really enjoyed it.
When you put it that way I think I might agree, they got a lot right the first time and too much time may have passed for the staff to really keep the same touch.
Nah, subs only for me. No real reason I called it that, just typed it on autopilot.

Sora no Woto is the thinking man's Haibane Renmei.

Season two by 3Hz.

Boneitis

>high fantasy adventure series about ballooning around saving the world
>a good sequel to POGs doing POG things except they're cute girls
Nah. I didn't even like the finale because it was a stupid escalation and a total non sequitur to what the show had been about the whole time.

Is SnW as much of a cult classic in Japan in certain circles as it is on Yea Forums?

I disagree with that. I like GLT, but Sora no Woto's world building was so strong that even over 9 years later I can still recall details of the world.

The writer had lots of plans for fleshing out the town and its characters. There was definitely material for it. I don't think it needed the big dramatic ending either. Just exploring how these people live their lives is interesting enough.

In my opinion, they're completely different takes of a similar setting. SnW is very grounded and lived in, while GLT feels more dreamlike. The quote "getting along with hopelessness" sums it up very well. It's like everyone's given up and is just wandering until death takes them. SnW is about people coming together and making the best of what they can in a ruined world.

Bait aside, is Haibane Renmei worth checking out if I enjoyed Sora no Woto?

Just wondering since I haven't seen it in forever, but wasn't the Sora no Woto world full on in the middle of desertification? I remember that adding onto the pointlessness of the war the two countries were fighting

Yes probably. I love them both even if they are very different.

If you loved the little mysteries of the world in SnW you'll adore Haibane Renmei.

Season 2 would feel unneeded as it is.
Give me an OVA or two anytime though.

It's modern Kyoani we're talking about, so it'd undeniably be shit.

Kyoani didn’t make the first one.

Jesus, you're right. All this time, I thought this was a kyoani series for some reason.
They do have those kyoani faces, though.
