>good and competent leader
>had modern ideas and was open to modern technology
>ended a long period of feudal wars
>restored a stable government
>established the foundations for a unified japan
>is portrayed as a villain in almost every anime
Why is he a villain when clearly he was a good guy
Good and competent leader

He accomplished some good things but he did it through immense violence, war mongering, and tyranny. Also he didn't even finish the job.
because he was an innovator and Visionary.
people didn't really understand his ideas or vision, and he died before his vision was realized.
Because he was killed. Winners write history books.
Cao Cao is better
>ended a long period of feudal wars
Wrong
How is this Yea Forums related? You stupid fucking newfags will NEVER turn this board into Yea Forums, losers
Liu Bei laughs in your face.
Evey thread about Nobunaga is the same but I like this threads anyway
Because he went against muh tradition and that's the worst crime possible for a nip. Also he burned some buddhist temples because the monks were against Nobunaga's new friends, the Catholic priests and western barbarians. The isolation policy won at the end and the monks remembered Nobunaga as a demon king, until the Meiji Restauration happened and buddhism became uncool again (see Anji from Rurouni Kenshin) and the monks re-adapt by preaching zen teachings to the Japanese army
>Play CIv V with Nobunaga
>He's actually kind of useless
To be fair, Liu Bei only became a hero a thousand years later because the Mongolians were controlling China, and the Chinks saw similarities with Mongolians and Wei/Jin as usurpers.
>He accomplished some good things but he did it through immense violence, war mongering, and tyranny.
That's every Sengoku era warlord.
>Liu Bei
Why would Xuande have any right to laugh? He was an incompetent peasant who was all about "muh Han" and who's only real talent was attracting talented men, all of whom were weighed down by his poor leadership and later doomed to failure because he made his own heir mentally handicapped because of "muh Zilong". Nobunaga was 100x the man and leader that Liu Xuande ever was.
True but all those warlords respect tradition. They didn't put people in charge according to their ability rather than their bloodline, they didn't treat dirty gaijins as friends and manufacture rifles and they respect the buddhist monks. Also Nobunaga came from a small area and he was so disrespectful that he was defeating great lords.
you forgot to mention
>enjoyed prime trap boipussi
Nobunaga's direct descendent is an ice skater. Guest role on Yuri on Ice when?
or or fucking /jp/
How is breaking retarded traditions evil for modern standards then? Most of the shit you mentioned seems positive for us nowadays so you are giving OP even more reasons to be right.
i liked this portrayal a lot, didn't really show him as a villain but as an antihero puppet master.
Except Japan is still ruled by those traditions and taking in consideration that Abe and the Nippon Kaigi are currenty leading a militarization, things won't get better any soon
He's still known as the good guy in Japanese schools. T. English teacher in nip
because as you have read Japan hates changes, Nobunaga is potrayed evil because he is trying something different.
Retard, they both good.
Nobu + Cao Cao combo when?
Japanese government would have to get seriously oppressive if they want to lead some sort of military campaign at this point. There is no way their society is going to be on board with war any time soon so unless they go full dictatorship that bullshit is going nowhere.
Pretty much this, although to an excess. He did shit like burn down a mountain and maintain a perimeter at the base of the mountain to cut down survivors.
Also unlike the other two great unifiers he didn't really have anything set-up for when he died, and also didn't finish the war so there was a good amount of bloodshed even after his death with no real peace at any time
Isn't he a reincarnated perv this anime season?
>They didn't put people in charge according to their ability rather than their bloodline
And that's why Nobunaga had to come in and fix their fuck-ups
Apparently you are also mentally handicapped, completely misunderstanding my post.
to be fair his assassination was really sudden and came out of nowhere. Akechi is a cunt.
He happened to be a key player in a tumultuous era in Japan, and when the creature called Historical Dramatization goes on the prowl, it spares no one
modern anime is made by bourgeois and peasants so the idea of a nuanced kshatriyah is completely foreign to them.
Imagine Nobunaga working with CAO AHMAN.
More like /his/
he should've been in drifters
Checked and play the vox mod
What the fuck did you just say?
God I want to marry Akechi
>The entire mountainside of the monastery was painted red with the blood of all its residents, 10,000 people, including women and children. The area was turned into a horrific slaughterhouse, which was to serve as a warning to any who dared to oppose the might of the Oda clan and its leader.

The Japanese are fucking insane, you don't know that? There is a significant section of the politically active population that still believe the emperor is a god. It is not uncommon for your average Nip to think the Empire did nothing wrong besides losing. If they had the motivation and weren't a US dog they would be in an arms race right now.
