Look at To Love-Ru. It was a 'harem' that was 1000% obvious that the vampire was the only real winner. Yet the other girls were still interesting and the show entertaining. IS with a focus on MC and Char could have been fine, and the other girls rounding out the team/unit, each their own personality. Hell, it really might have made IS standout more if there was the secret relationship dynamic. We the audience might know the situation, but they characters don't, and they would still be an active part of the shows drama.
Why do people think she is a tomboy? Even when pretending to be male, its still a very delicate and feminine male. Tomboys are obvious girls that act non-traditionally female.
Mizore was the only reason I really watched To Love-Ru though.
