They're probably my favorite anime couple. Arakawa had enough self awareness to not waste anyone's time with sappy bullshit between them for the audience to know there was something between them yet were mature enough to not break their professionalism while on screen so it made the emotional moments more impactful and even in the end she doesn't play the same trap as many shounen mangaka showing them married with babbies just a picture showing that they're still together business as usual.

I didn't care for either of them. Roy was alright I suppose, but his entire personality was just really unlikable. He was really egotistical, but then again his goal was to become head of the military and his best friend was murdered, so I guess he had a reason to become such an edgelord. He treated Edward like shit despite Edward's situation and I think Edward was overall a better character than Roy. Flame Alchemy was broken as fuck though.
