I'm going to check it out mostly due to david pro. Even in a shounen series I don't see how they are going to make firefighting interesting, but I haven't read the manga so I don't know how it plays out

the only good thing about soul eater is the anime adaptation because it had better writing.

Preproduction for the film started in 2014, and they would be brainstorming ideas even before that. Everything about the execution, plot, pacing, direction and characters is far too different between them. This is a standard shounen set up with a slow introduction while the movie is a standard nonstop action flick but with typical trigger/gainax madness. It's closer to ttgl/klk final episodes than anything in fire force.

If it was about somewhat ordinary firefighters fighting the flaming faggot demons with altered firefighting equipment instead of super special forces dudes who are firefighters in name only that'd be pretty fucking rad.

Anyone who says this is a "promare rip off" is absolutely fucking stupid. Fire Force manga came out in 2015 and Promare just released this year. You can't plagiarize something that came out four years before your idea, unless the creator of promare had the idea before 2015 which I highly doubt they did. If anything Promare ripped off Fire Force.

Wow, really? That's sad. It took them like 5-6 years to put together an anime movie? I guess I stand corrected. I just didn't think it took them that long to make one movie. I still don't think Fire Force ripped off Promare. Like you said the concepts are vastly different, while somethings might be similar it doesn't mean it's plagiarism.
