Anyone ever go back and watch some old anime and realize how much has actually changed?

Anyone ever go back and watch some old anime and realize how much has actually changed?

So many of these plots would change if they took place in the present day with our current technology.

I was alive in the 1980s but time goes by so gradually that you don't realize how much has changed until you look back.

The Epilogue of SDF Macross is pretty funny since it so heavily features payphones despite being set in like 2013

Yah the present day has made many things more convenient.

I remember before smart phones when at work in the break room most people would either be reading magazines/books/newspapers or they would be talking to each other.

Now it is totally silent and every one is staring at their phones.

I am glad I never got sucked into the social media craze.

I remember reading the Parasyte manga and then I heard about them doing an anime in the present day.
I wonder how certain scenes would play out because of the abundance of cameras every where.

1999 (pic) - no cellphones
2009 (e.g. Raildex) - everybody with flip phone
2019 (e.g. Bokuben) - everybody with smart phone

With a modern thermos, couldn't he just keep a supply of hot water with him all day long?

I think even a thermos from the 1980s would keep water warm for a long period.

It seems things go by much faster, anime back then, and shows in general, were much slower paced. It seems kids now a days have to have everything now now now!

Nabiki would just damage the thermos for profit.

Other countries besides Good Burger have payphones acdktshuarry.

It is hard to watch a lot of old stuff due to low res and QUALITY. Even old stuff I liked.
Idea: Use neural net / quantum computing to reprocess old anime to make it look like modern anime.

Ultimate dream: Take any manga. Select VA's from Vocaloid toolbox. Select manga page range covered by each anime episode. Select OP/ED songs. Press enter. Instant anime.

Okay well I'm talking 80's and 90's anime's, Clannad was from 2007 so... The VN though is a bit paced.

Some anime got remastered.
For example Maison Ikkoku.

>come.to
>not come.in
Then again, pooland probably wouldn't approve of such a suggestive URL.

Its hurts to know that there are some really good looking shows like California Crisis that will forever be trapped to shitty VHS rips

it was a different time

the payphones and shinji's walkman in eva spring to mind instantly

low-hanging fruit, i know

Payphones are the most obvious victims. Imagine City Hunter in the modern era. He would probably make even more impossible shots by way of drones, etc. Similar issues with Lupin III, some things would be vastly different.

That's what people looked like before smart phones.

>Idea: Use neural net / quantum computing
Morons keep bringing up quantum computing like it's super computing. Under most circumstances, quantum computing would be no better than traditional computing.
