No, he became a good written character because, unlike all the other villains in this industry (who are all cool looking,powerful, smart and unbeatable until they fight the hero), zeke is a relatable villain phatetic and weak but relatable,full of flawes and humanity, who look like a realistic human whit problems and emotions.
He isn't an invicible timestopping vampire, a crazy maniach superghoul , an undead god ninja or a keyaku spirit master, but a mere and normal human who can only became a big ape (and this power will actually kill him in the next months), this is why he is a well written "villain".

Dinah isn't Historia, so there isn't much of a reason to think there would be a connection between Eren's feelings for the latter and Grisha's love for the former. That being said an user pointed out something interesting the other day: Eren experienced the pain of seeing a loved turned into a titan firsthand via his dad, so that might have given him an even stronger reason to refuse that fate for Historia since he's fully aware of how much it would hurt. As for Frieda, I don't know, the connection between her love for her sister and Eren's care for her was never clearly established or hinted at I feel, and there's also the fact that he straight up rejected Krista even though she was exactly what Frieda encouraged Historia to be (at least on a surface level). Nope. There was hardly any chance to do that in RtS and Marley arc. Isayama will probably show it in a flashback though if they are really working together.

Same goes for pretty much everyone post RtS to be fair, since we don't have much of a look into their everyday lives (108 being the exception I guess) during the timeskip save for some key moments, and all of it has been shown through flashbacks (from other characters' perspectives). If anything happened between Eren and Historia it'll have to be revisited the same way, or maybe through memories overload if Isayama wants to get original.

The same could be said of Reiner.
