There's more to it than that with Yukino, too. She is emotionally neglected by her parents because her elder sister is a prodigy, and she has an inferiority complex her sister has fostered over the years. Her facade of perfection and an unreachable Ice Queen are coping mechanisms; Sensei in some sense is aware of this, thus why she is in the club even before 8man. When her facade is broken she is compared to a helpless child, and this is exacerbated when 8man is disappointed that his image of an "ideal" Yukino is false. The dynamic would be even more interesting if Haruno, Yukino's onee-chan, were accomplishing even more shit in college. As of now, she is just living off the glory of her high school days and is heavily intertwined with high school drama, making her appear as pathetic, but the high school kids do find her intimidating.
