Definitely Ranma.

Nice ending.

Her art hasn't aged well.

I disagree.

agree on MI for best ending

Yup. All the other series had their good points but Ranma is a timeless classic.

Wait, she's a woman?

Inuyasha sold more copies though.

Inuyasha was fujobait. Sales are expected.

Ranma.

I am reading her new MAO series, but since it's Taisho period, I fear she's just coattail riding Kimetsu no Yaiba, like how Rinne was like a softer version of Bleach.

They all suck, but she draws some nice girls, so I'm okay with that.

I wanted to like Maison Ikkoku and it has it's moments, but everyone is a terrible fucking person in there. From the MC to the main girl and every single character other than the other girl that was dating MC.

Mao actually just comes off as a darker take on Rinne to me with some roles switched around, like how the main hero this time is an exorcist and the heroine is the half-ghost (who heard ghost voices other people didn't), while in Rinne the main hero was a half-shinigami, the heroine was a human that saw ghosts and he had an exorcist as a rival. Even his helper just reminded me of Rinne's cat, even though it seems to be just a child.

It's weird how she's doing a series with a theme so close to her last one, even if there's a bigger focus on action and violence here, while Rinne was almost purely a comedy.

I don't know. It's realistic in a way. Obviously relationships don't work out the way you plan them to. It's honestly hard to reject someone.

Ranma

I want to say Urusei Yatsura, but Ranma is a lot more poignant in my memories.

ITT: Westerners love Ranma but UY and IY obviously had more impact in Japan

UY is heavily steeped in Japanese mythology and doesn't explain any of it. Ranma is much more self contained.

Ranma is more popular in the West (or rather, oldtaku) because of Viz.

Zoomers love Inuyasha more and the really oldtaku love Urusei Yatsura more. Both series are more influential worldwide versus Ranma, which is popular mostly in the west, particularly among fanfic makers.

Watched Maison Ikkoku, a bit of UY, and Inuyasha. Should I finish UY or go to another Rumiko's work? I loved MI.

I’m interested in Mao. It does feel like Inuyasha meets Kimetsu though

Lum > Ranma-chan
If it wasnt for spics Ranma couldnt even compete

UY is best consumed sparingly because it's more episodic than Ranma.

I wish she would do a remake for the mermaid one. It has an intriguing theme with an eerie atmosphere.
I'm a sucker for eternal wandering type of story. I especially like the tragic romance aspect between MC and various girls he met in his centuries long journey.

It's pretty crazy for one author to have that many genre-defining megahits :Urusei Yatsura, Maison Ikkoku, Ranma, and to a lesser degree Inuyasha

>Thinking people who live in a run down fucking shack of an apartment building living on booze all day would be remotely good people

She's rumored to be the richest mangaka ever.

Well fuck you, I am not old damn it.

your brain hasn't aged well

So how did Rinne end? Does Rinne end up with Mamiya Sakura?
I heard that one of the reasons is that she is a shrewd businesswoman who handled royalties really well.

Urusei Yatsura is a romantic comedy AND a sci-fi/fantasy epic

how do you top that?

Anal?

Okay, maybe. Depends on when you first watched/read/heard of Ranma.

I found out about Ranma in the 1990s through dubs and Internet fanfiction? Did you watch Ranma much later in the 2000s or something?

Apparently by having aqua-trans in a starring role. See:

for me it's one pound gospel.

I'd pound her gospel more than once if you know what I mean.

>it's another I speak for all countries when I talk about America post

Is Maison Ikkoku worth watching? I loved UY and Ranma.

Oh I know what you mean.
I get you.
I understand your words.
I'm smelling what you're shitting.
I've caught your throw.
Letter's been delivered.
Nail's been hammered.

Never watched it, watched Urusei Yatsura in 2004-2005 when anime was broadcasted in one of the channels (I did read Ranma much later).

Someone post her swimsuit pics.

Truth

Urusei Yatsura has the most staying power in Japan. I see a lot more Lum merch than anything of Ranma or Inuyasha. Also it still gets talked about more over here than the other two.
