Most romance anime in general does not sell as well as shows with it as a side dish or not at all.

Otaku already can't get any 3D women, they can't cope with the thought that they wouldn't have a chance with 2D women either.

Trap with a girl would make it not a yuri title since it would be just straight crossdressing guy x girl scenario.
Better scenario is to show yuri girls wanting babies and getting them together without need of a guy, if japanese women don't want to do it with japanese men to have kids with then maybe the proper next step is to encourage them having kids either on their own or between each other.
But lets be real here, no one will have a kid just because he or she would watch anime about people getting one in it.

Don't know about manga, but I am fairly certain it would be easier to find a straight doujin of an all female cast/yuribait series vs a straight doujin of an all male cast/yaoibait series.

The funny thing is that YagaKimi sold fine for a canon yuri show despite having male characters. Meanwhile, Kyuuketsuki, a CDGCT with no male characters, whose subtext was so blatant it was de facto canon, flopped hard. About the only new canon or subtext yuri series without males that did well was Wataten, the others didn't do very well. Why?
