My favorite thing about Himitsu was that Kokoro was a normal little girl living a normal little girl life, except her toys could talk, but anyways she would play with her friends and they would build dollhouses together out of things lying around the house and she would also get into various troubles and sometimes do naughty things like lying to adults and cheat at sports.
Haruka is just a weirdo who lives alone in an old clock shop and has no friends and stalks people all day and her dollhouse just shows up by magic. And I don't like her voice at all; Didn't like her as Sora with her kurukurukawawas, didn't like her as Lucoa, don't like her now, it's grating.

Haruka has friends and does normal little girls things with them, the problem is that the show is seemingly allergic to showing them on screen. Himitsu had a whole ton of episodes set at Kokoro's school, and it was primarily those that had her interact with her friends. Hirake has yet to have a single episode that shows Haruka at school for more than maybe a minute.

Watching S2 while airing was definitely pretty bad, but a lot of people that picked up Aikatsu after seemed to like it more when marathoning it (still a lot of negative opinions on it, but not as bad as when it was airing). I rewatched S2 a while back and definitely enjoyed it a lot more on my rewatch than when it was airing too.
Also, people keep bringing up how S2 was "so bad it almost killed Aikatsu threads" but they weren't exactly very fast at all in S1 either. The low number of people watching because it was a singular, not very well known show for little girls contributed to the slow speed much more than the actual quality of the show.
I wont defend Shining Star's animation, but after watching for a bit you get used to it. Also, it has sort of the opposite problem that Aikatsu S1 had, where the performances are actually pretty good, relative to the regular animation quality at least.

Threads during S2 would die with five replies. Nobody cared enough to keep posting. It didn't *almost* kill Aikatsu threads, it DID kill them, for a while. Maybe S2 wasn't that bad but this is simply what happened. You can go to bed thinking we had shit taste, if you wish.
