ZZ

0083

Seed, though I heard Seed Destiny was worse, I don't want to watch it to find out.

Wing
Never saw Seed

My favorites are 0083, War in the Pocket and 8th MS team

Didn't the final battle in Seed Destiny end with them striking a heroic pose after having taken basically 0 casualties?

seed destiny.

>Turn A
I dropped it after 16 episodes, when does it turn good?

Anno spoted

is turn A good?
I've seen original trilogy movies, zeta, 0080, origin, and a couple episodes of G gundam and the only ones I enjoyed were origin and last trilogy movie.

IBO. It's the only main series that was actually bad enough for me to fucking drop. I even watched the absolute shitshows that were AGE and Destiny. IBO was just too much.

The first one, because of that, the rest of the shitty Gundam franchise exists

I really don't see how someone could hate Gundam when it's an essentially irrelevant franchise in the West.

Lmao retard

But Gundam seed is good.

It is objectively good and entertaining.

08th MS Team. Shit characters, shit artstyle, only 1 good fight, no space battles, shit love story, and rehashed setting (One Year War). I've only seen UC stuff.

>CCA
>God Tier
It was a travesty of filmmaking. The only good thing in it is that it wrapped up the love triangle.

>Origin and 83 over Zeta
Stupid evil adult

It's god tier. Just rewatch it a couple times in a few years and you'll understand its genius.

>IBO anywhere near the top
>G reco at the very bottom
Okay

Gonna disagree with Unicorn in the good tier.

>I've seen original trilogy movies

Attached: 1449894324167.png (480x550, 317K)

Every one

I've watched it enough to know it was a rushed mess that is only worth watching to finish the early UC story arc. It belongs right next to F91.

It's not rushed at all.

CCA is not rushed and comparing its pace to F91's is beyond retarded.

Age, Origins and NT bored me to death

ZZ, 0083 or Igloo

Hard to pick a worst out of those three, they're all awful

G gundam >>>> all

During episode 1. Get some taste.

CCA isn't comparable to F-91 at all and it's definitely not rushed

It's main issues are the HIGHLY DUBIOUS characterization of the main characters that does not fit well with their previous appearances, and a couple of particularly unlikable new teen characters.

Other than those downsides it's at worst a really solid movie. Looks fantastic, a pretty compelling story, provides a mostly fitting ending to it's era.

Igloo 1 and 2 are good. So is ZZ.

well sorry for not wanting to waste my time with 43 episodes of filler

Build Divers is a new quiet candidate for the worst, who has anything good to say about that thing? Everyone I know nope'd out on that faster than any series in a long time, even the traditional picks for the worst of Gundam many people finish or at least persist through a decent chunk of them.

I've never seen anyone agree with me, but I thought Victory was far worse than anything else. All the characters are bland as fuck, and do things without having clear motives. I still don't get why the blonde girl just decided to be evil for no reason. Also, so many characters only exist to die, instead of being actual characters. The reasons for the war were hastily explained. The helicopter mobile suits were dumb. And to top it all off, it was a full 50 episode show, making it painful to complete.

>filler
There's that word again. The one that says "I don't actually want to watch the show, I just want to get essentially a wiki summary of it so I can go watch Origins because the people on Reddit tell me that it's good".

It's kind of a shitty production too. It's flat and cruddy looking a lot.

I think it's got some memorable moments though which is why I wouldn't put it at the bottom

Destiny is probably the worst but IBO is my least favourite. Destiny at least had value as a trainwreck, but IBO was just complete garbage.

t. Tomino

Victory is great.

Attached: ED pan.jpg (571x1103, 268K)

I actually watched origins before I started from the beginning. By filler I mean the people making the show drag out fights way longer than they need to be, reuse animation cuts, and waste time developing characters and plot that no one likes. I've seen plenty of shows that do this and im not falling for it just because of "muh robots".

None of MSG is filler, stop being retarded.

0079 unambiguously has Monster of the Week style stuff.

Characterizations were bad, motivations were mostly bad, mechs were good at least, pacing just wasn't on point imo. All I ever feel about it is that it could have been so much better if given more attention during production.
>CCA isn't comparable to F-91
Both are disappointments that still belong in average tier.

Well then it is a boring show.

Only in the sense that there is a fight each episode. The fights themselves are consistently great and relevent to the plot.

Attached: Overwater Team Attack.webm (960x720, 2.8M)

Thought for IBO and 00 that their first seasons were meh but enjoyable at some parts while s2 dropped the ball on both. Though I liked the cast on IBo more than in 00.
Least favorite is Gundam unicorn. Story is pretty boring and MC was a snore. Though fights were animated well and I did like the other suits they thought from different Gundam.

Attached: 1553714968619.webm (720x480, 2.54M)

I think the difference is while you can certainly make arguments against the quality of CCA for a bunch of reasons, F-91 is closer to an actual 'broken' movie since it's well known to be just a bunch of failed tv series scripts kludged together into failed attempt at a soft reboot of the series.

>I actually watched origins before I started from the beginning
Opinion discarded.

>developing characters and plot is bad because you have shit taste

To some extent. MotW stuff doesn't make it filler though. And even if there is some "filler" (which I don't agree with that being the case), the movies cut out way more than what little filler there is. I watched them and they're barely coherent. The show was already cut down by 9 episodes because of its cancellation. It felt pretty tightly done to me but maybe that's because my brain hasn't been damaged by single cour anime.

>HIGHLY DUBIOUS characterization of the main characters
99% of this is just idiots falling for the "char is a good guy meme" because of Zeta. He always was pro spacenoid. Nothing changed.

Victory is kinda bad in some ways, but it's also weird as fuck and Uso is a pretty interesting character. It gets a pass from me overall.

Tomino really wanted the series dead (again), but it didn't work (again). It was intentionally not good but it still came out okay, certainly in comparison to some of the shit that came later entering the AU and reboot eras.
Divers isn't anywhere near the worst. It outclasses both Try and AGE. The reason most dropped out was due to burnout from Try and the decrease in production quality. It was actually okayish, not great but better than the actual shit-tier of the franchise.

>HIGHLY DUBIOUS characterization of the main characters
In what way?
He's not pro spacenoid, he's pro Char. The whole point of Quess was to show that he would without hesitation do things he claims to hate and fight against if it helped him assuage his wounded pride.

>I actually watched origins before I started from the beginning
Lmao, you're a fucking loser. Embarrassing

>He's not pro spacenoid, he's pro Char.
I don't see that as contradictory. However, you can make the case that Char didn't really believe in the Zeon wanking spacenoid ideology stuff and just wanted to fight Amuro again to satisfy his ego. I personally think he was a genuine believer to at least some extent because of his experience with Lalah.

Char was certainly not a bad guy, he just hated the Zabi family for destroying his father's message.

Worst ive seen are Victory, Zeta, 08th MS Team, and Turn A
Best are 0079, ZZ, 0083, G, Wing

Attached: dccjeemxcaamtpm.jpg (960x540, 66K)

>Turn A
>not a masterpiece

Attached: turn a.jpg (1790x1178, 636K)

Not him but while G Gundam's first half is pretty good, the second half was boring most of the time. There's still some good stuff like Nobel Gundam or the last few episodes but I agree with putting it in Average as a whole.

A well elaborated shitpost or an user with some really weird taste

>Divers isn't anywhere near the worst. It outclasses both Try and AGE.

it's a shitload worse than either of those

this by a long shot
0083 is so fucking awful

He was a sympathetic character, but Char was absolutely a villain in 0079.

How the flying fuck is Divers worse than ?Try or Age. At least Divers has some goofy fun episodes. AGE and Try is literally garbage from beginning to end.

Wing, 0083, everything made after Turn A. G Gundam isn't the worst but is the most overrated. X is the most underappreciated.

Everything after the year 2000 has been garbage with the exception of g reconquista.

The setting is the best part of 08th MS Team but I prefer ground battles to space battles. The art's fine and has nice girls with Karen and Kiki but the Shiro/Aina romance is shit.

Said it in another thread but it's not over the top enough to be wacky and not interesting enough to be serious. It wants to be both Gundam and super robot but lacks the fortitude to actually commit one way or the other. It also feels too long, like there was really only enough material for a 39 episode series.

From the ones I've watched, Gundam 00. It is a downward spiral just getting worse and worse.

Heard terrible things from Reconquista and AGE.

>X is the most underappreciated

Attached: 1395609100273.gif (280x212, 658K)

It's 51 episodes, dipshit.

IBO is dog shit and I've seen SD and Seed.

Attached: overkill.webm (960x720, 2.41M)

Victory's good, I like it and there's some cool MS. Also one of the best OSTs in the entire franchise.

BF Try.
It tries to be G gundam + BF, but it fails to realize what made both great.

Seed is decent.

IMO Unicorn is everything wrong with modern Gundam. It's the Gundam equivalent of Disney Star Wars in that every single facet of it is unneeded and really only exists to push a hacky writer's own views on how Gundam "should" be (which in the end is Zeon Wank no matter how many "b-b-but they said Zeon went about it the wrong way" excuses fans try to make) and basically takes a steaming fat shit on all the entire franchise.

It's basically animated fanfiction. Even all the fucking suits are just bullshit low effort reworkings of earlier UC suits and not in a way that feels natural. Fuck Unicorn, fuck Fukui.

seed is GOOD

you cant shit on seed while posting a clip from wing

SEED is worse than Wing, just putting that out there before the SEEDshitters start defending their fanfiction.

Only thing Wing has going for it is cute girls and absurdly great MS design. Tallgeese is one of my favorite suits in the entire franchise.

>absurdly great MS design
Wing has shit tier MS design. Tallgeese is good, but every other one is the show is terrible.

Divers is infantile, substance free crap. It's Try times a thousand.

Try itself's biggest crime is being "far less good Build Fighters" and AGE is a down the line middle tier series

It really isn't. The only thing about Seed that's aged increasingly poorly is it's just cursed to forever be one of the worst looking shows aesthetically because it got created at the worst possible time, that time when anime was transitioning to shitty digipaint animation.

Wing's ugly, bizarre, poorly written all over the place. Somehow I don't mind Endless Waltz though.

Nah, a lot of it strikes a nice design between complex and simple and for the most part is memorable. The ugliest suits -- Epyon and the EW Gundams -- pretty much heralded the kind of overdesigned nonsense that plagues every series going back to SEED though.

A plague on all who support Katoki redesigns

ZZ should at least be split into first and second halves with how retarded the tonal whiplash was
Half-2's at least good
I'd bump Z, wing, and maybe wing but with operation iraqi freedom up a tier, V and IBO down one

>HIGHLY DUBIOUS characterization of the main characters
I sincerely hope you're not talking about Char.

Char's out of character but so is Amuro.

It even made *Lalah* of all people a complete asshole for no good reason

>non-newtype MC
>jamil and the crew
>qt love interest that is developed, helps, and isn't utterly retarded like shakti
>top tier designs
>retreads a lot of gundam plot points except the people act like people instead of autistic tomino characters, and even made the g-armor less retarded
>mad max land ship setting but knows not to overstay its welcome and has normal civilization breaks regularly
>outright shits on gundam's newtype fetish
>got canned and had to speedrun its end arc (STILL ending pretty well)
our's is a cruel god, weighed down by gravity

I wouldn't say its really Zeon wank, that's Origin, but it did try hard to sympathize with Zeon a lot more than ever. Plus the fact both sides Zeon and Federation were being played by one dude who blackmailed both with just a plaque.

I think the biggest part is that the journey to find all about this is pretty boring and inconsequential in the long run. Plus other characters not really being all that or ones that are better choices than the MC and main antagonist. Well I would say main one except he doesn't really do much but fuck all until certain episode and its moslty Sleeves and Federation chasing the main groups asses.

Destiny is definitely worse. Seed is okay, Destiny just makes it shit by association.

Destiny pretty much makes any consequences or good that seed had and says fuck it let's drop all of it.

You mean FLAWLESS VICTORY? Yes. They had to release an extended version of the finale, because they forgot to explain anything that happened after the battle. Also so they could Photoshop Athrun into a major scene he wasn't in previously, but they didn't record any new dialogue for it, so everyone else ignores his presence entirely.

I think it's not a completely simple situation.

I think Destiny's best is better than Seed's best. Just that it's worst is, well, worse. And the worst possible kind bad, the "start strong end poorly" type because you walk away with a foul taste rather than how you can forgive shows that do the opposite.

ZZ was awful. Plot holes everywhere, unnecessary death everywhere, and characters that had a heavy impact on the main story unnecessarily before fucking off to Jupiter.

0080 unironically

That's a fair call. If I'm honest, my impression of Seed is uplifted by Rau going full batshit towards the end, and effectively carrying the show. That's definitely a point where Destiny dropped the ball.

AGE gets way too much shit. The first 2 parts are really solid and the music, animation, and mech designs are all great. Definitely one of the better AUs.

whats the best?

Attached: 45636w.jpg (1000x375, 82K)

We don't ask that question, friend. No good can come of it.

AGE hate is basically meme level. An insane amount of people decided they hated it before it even started.

Plus a whole ton of weird creeps who act like like a "doesn't want to kill" protagonist makes them ill

A "what is the worst Gundam" and "what is the best Gundam" thread is pretty interchangeable

There's so many entries they're all someones favorite and just as many people hate them

Age is fucking horrible so far. The first age is too kiddy. It's harping off 79 too much. There's something just fundamentally off with it. I don't like the upgrade system, but do like the idea of a generational thing and the bits I've skipped to show that MC of first age has a giant murder boner that lasts because his Not!Lalah dies. Just with how much it rips off the rest of the UC franchise (whilst being an AU) is just so infuriating (it's badly done "homage"/references), I've yet to watch Seed, but that's apparently an attempt at cloning 79/Z as well.

Seed was deliberately a "modern day take on Gundam 0079" kind of thing since it was effectively a revival of Gundam after a period of it's relevance waning. But then, only really for the first half of it before it became it's own thing.

Seed Destiny really isn't an attempt at being like Z other than some broad superficial things in it's first arc.

SEED.

fuck off

Victory is hilarious. It's some kinda slapstick black comedy shit. Probably wasn't intended to be that way, but it's so goofy.

>Divers is infantile, substance free crap.
Yes.
>It's Try times a thousand.
No. Divers had its own laundry list of problems that Try didn't, and vice-versa. The primary relation Divers and Try have to each other are being kinda bad.

I genuinely find myself wanting the time I spent watching Unicorn back. At least there were some cool fights.

>everything made after Turn A
What's wrong with 00?

To be fair I don't think anyone will strongly defend
>ZZ, first part especially
>Seed D
>build try
and almost everyone agrees on
>0080
>MSG
being great
beyond that yeah, it's a crapshoot
although philistines hating on turn A are the big gay

why would you shoot a man after throwing him out of a plane?

>Probably wasn't intended to be that way, but it's so goofy.
>guy just immediately blows himself up with a grenade upon seeing uso is a kid
>so our enemy is a 13 year old... SEND OUT THE BIKINI SOLDIERS
>uso fucking headbutts one to death because he thinks he's tripping balls
>that one shrike girl katejina kills by just turning towards her so the gun bitchslaps her mech to death instantly
>wheelie battleships
it was art, in it's own deranged tomino way

>What's wrong with 00?
It sucks, ayylmaos, Bushido, shitty MS design, I'm just fucking sick of AUs and would rather get something good set in the decades between CC and F91 or post-Victory but not overly far in the future like Reconguista.

AU Gundam at this point isn't Gundam. It's having an idea for a mech series but not having the confidence to make it its own thing so you just slap the Gundam name on it. It's been that way pretty much since the end of SEED.

Attached: Bane.jpg (470x706, 50K)

There also seems to be plenty of Gundam fans who only like one series and despise everything else.

Outside the obvious picks SEED and Unicorn are the most baffling series as to why anyone would like them.
SEED legitimately only has about 12 minutes worth of material in a given episode, considering how much of it's runtime is consumed by stock-footage and flashbacks. It's especially bad after Freedom shows up, where every battle reduces to trading beamspam between the druggies and kira. The flashbacks are incredibly obnoxious; 90% are flashbacks to a scene only a few episodes before, or even in one case, something that happened in the same episode. When you subtract out all the recycled footage you're left with about 8 minutes of Kira's platitudes, 2 minutes of extremely exaggerated politics, and maybe 2 minutes of worthwhile material. Combine that with Hiraiface, bizarre melodrama, and some embarrassing voice acting (Kira's VA crying sounds like he is being strangled) and you get a shit series.

Unicorn manages to be a complete non-entity in an already repetitive franchise; I cannot think of a single element of Unicorn that is not done better in another entry. Everything from the animation (UC OVAs and movies) to the Ideon references (Turn A) is just a gimped feature from another entry.

>shitty ms design
you take that back, the tieren was best boy and unlike wing the gundams (sans a few, like bootleg nobel or whatever the fuck the flippy one was) were neat and didn't look like they wandered in from the set of G gundam

>SEED and Unicorn are the most baffling series as to why anyone would like them
SEED: Millennial's first Gundam, and teens who self inserted as Kira, one of the few Gundam characters to fuck on screen. To this day, I still know people who write off 0079 Amuro as "a shittier version of Kira".
Unicorn: Justifies a lot of "Zeon did nothing wrong", plus being prime early UC nostalgia wank.

You started off so good and immediately invalidated yourself forever with 0083's placement. I feel sick to the stomach that I actually dedicate some time to reply to you, you should be ashamed of yourself. You disgust me.

This is an amazing shitpost image. it mixes up placements that make sense with completely retarded shit to the point you cannot be sure if it's genuine or not.

Anyway, I think Wing is the worst, it's just perfectly bland, forgettable and unengaging. Shit like ZZ, SEED or Victory belong in a similiar category to mee but have their moments and Seed D is a nice ironic watch. I don't remember a single cool or memorable scene from Wing.
