Akira Toriayama's art style evolution

Anybody think it's interesting how Toriyama sort of went backwards on his art in a way? His early stuff is full of round shapes, cartoony proportions and a sense of chubbiness but there was a distinct lack of focus on muscles even in the latter parts of pre-timeskip Dragon Ball. Then he started getting more focused on musclely designs. Then it felt like he was in a weird place where he didn't know how to properly do muscles anymore while still keeping it modern (look up Toriyama's designs for Battle of Gods).

Now, he's gotten to sort of a weird middle ground of less focus on muscles like his early days but not having cartoony proportions anymore.

Cope.

You know, I really liked his art style in Dr Slump and early dragon Ball. Too bad it has devovled now.

Slump > Early DB > Early DQ > Chrono Trigger > Modern DQ > Late DB

He kinda hit a wall in the mid 90s.
Look at Dragon Ball and DQVI for example, all the characters have the same face. Most of the art is recycled between each franchise.

I wasn't saying it was bad. Just different

He was getting REALLY bad at a certain point

Sorry, the DB generals have changed me.

Like Araki, he forgot how to draw muscles

which one are you using in Ultimate Yea Forums?
I've only played and beaten IX, but III and V look the best.

VIII

>This
>bad
It doesn't fit DB but it's not bad at all(heck this is better than the shitty generic yamamuro designs we got in the movie itself)
And after like 40 years of drawing shit of course he will be bored and will change his style.

Whats ultimate faggot?

He didn't. You can't forget how to draw shit.
He simply doesn't like drawing the same shit for a long time which is understandable.

Yeah, huh? I mean, if you're asking protag, I guess Yoshihiko.

>he doesn't know

Super Smash Bros Ultimate.

Oh, I don't play games on mobile devices.

The game that i never played but i already hate.

I really like his designs for Chrono Trigger which is when I believe he was at his peak.

Too bad his art took a nose dive around the time he started coloring things digitally although it isn't so bad now that he has the hang of it.

Last time I checked, the switch is a console
