The only humour they seem to do well is bullying humour, like sagabegu, konosuba... things like that.

They have some good comedy shows, not all of them are funny.

I haven't watched Sakamoto yet, so I can't say if it works or not, but I've been reading Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun lately and every time I feel like "God, I get it, okay, they're going to have some kind of dumb misunderstanding," it manages to actually surprise me.

I suffer through long periods of bored amusement for those few moments of thinking something is genuinely funny. I don't think it's healthy though.

I think Sakamoto is actually really good in finding original ways for him to be the coolest.
It's usually not the classic cool that you expect but something that's kinda autistic but also unexpectedly cool somehow.

because the mangaka was just fucking around throwing out whatever concept that could possibly gain traction and once it did, they want to ride it out for as much as it's worth knowing how hard it'll be before they have to come up with something new. It's not nip humor, but desperate artists trying to retain their job
