There's nothing in 0079 that you won't see done better in more recent shows.
0079 doesn't have your mom though.
Name one anime that has outdone the burger episode. I'll wait.
Burger was 0080.
>amuro's mom episode
>lalah and amuro falling in love
>amuro's father episode
>amuro meeting char for the first time
>ramba ral and hamon
>bright/mirai/ryu conflict and kamikaze ryu
>icelina
The only thing done better is Amuro's ptsd with NGE's Shinji.
because retards just recommend the shitty movies instead of the show and think its acceptable.
The animation is shoddy, even for the 70s
>lalah and amuro falling in love
They look at a bird, and then later she drives past him, splashing mud at him. Some romance.
it's called newtype connection, a pleb like you wouldn't understand
>there are people posting right now who don't believe amuro and char are canons homos
why is this allowed?
You're right, a pleb like me still thinks that newtypes are a mistake.
(Because they are.)
I loved it, but I'm having a terrible time getting trough Zeta. Any advice?
I'm 25 episodes into Zeta and I think it's time for everyone to admit that Zeta is a letdown.
the cast is just too bloated imo
ITT OP watched 0079 for the first time two hours ago and really wants to talk about it.
It was never supposed to happen, of course it would be a letdown. Blame Sunrise.
It's one of the most beautiful scenes in anime, retard.
>implying
it's been a year now user!
lmao, poor Bernie didn't deserve that
Looks too old
found the homosexual
Post your gundam waifu
Do you care about Kamille as a person/protagonist?
bad bad bad
Its still better than the endless trash and 0079 clones that came after it
>filename
I love how wildly applicable that image is to call these types of losers out with, but you chose to exclusively use it for people who hate Zeta Gundam specifically and only. Pretty based.
Go sip on your monster energy drink grandpa
I drink coke zero only
What kind of isekai is this?
Why aren't those guys using thier powers? How can I tell which one is stronger? They need some sort of power level indicator. They should at they very least have sword or something.
0079 fucking sucked until halfway through is why.
Zeta was and will always be the best gundam only. The only redeeming quality of 0079 were the OVAs that only make sense if you watch 0079
When I read The Origina I got really annoyed that Yas went through all this trouble to expand on Icelina, her relationship with Garma and what that does for her father politically and then never actually included her ill-fated attempt at getting revenge for Garma's death even though it's one of the best parts of the series.
I like it. The biggest problem is ome of the back half characters like Rosamia suck. I'm one of the few people who actually likes Reccoa though.
Roux is for plebs. Haman is for patricians. Elle is for the domini.
Reccoa looks and acts like a 3X years old cake
Reccoa is great, all she needed was a good dicking to settle her down, then you have a sweet loving waifu who would do anything with you
Pretty much. She was just emotionally broken from a life of constant warfare and wanted a nice man to rescue her and make a woman out of her.
Only a retard wouldn't want a tough sweet woman who could kill you in your sleep to be your lifelong partner
because its a worthless trash toy commercial
>lalah and amuro falling in love
that wasn't love, it was newtype understanding
Yas is a lorefag, he just wanted to do worldbuilding with the origin.
He doesn't understand the characterization of Gundam's characters too well.
I didn't like Zeta as much as 0079 when I was watching it.
But looking back on it the series did some neat stuff.
I thought Kamille was a very strong character, and most of the male cast was pretty solid.
The female cast was spotty though.
But Zeta really isn't as entertaining as 0079.
From episode 1 it immediately takes on a different tone and direction.
Undeniably good taste.
Pls don't bully, but is the dub any good?
Watch this and draw your own conclusions yes it is
youtu.be
It reminded me alot of the Speed Racer dub for some reason
Char is the focal hero of early UC.
I watched the movie compilation
It works for a show from the 70s, gundam has the advantage of taking place in a international sci-fi setting so localization isn't as big of a problem.
70s gundam is more progressive than contemporary anime
Reminder that in the novelization she's captured by Feddies who gang rape her until she kills herself by biting her tongue off and bleeding out.
>U*icorn
how can it be a toy commercial if gunpla wasn't even invented yet??? retaaaaaaaaard!
I think there are modern titles that push that envelope too, but sci-fi in general tends to looks ahead, so it's expected.
Also Tomino most likely had a lot of influence from western media, I'm pretty sure he read Starship troopers at some point since originally mobile suits were gonna be powere armor.
Too busy watching a far superior anime, Space Battleship Yamato
Fuck off, /m/. Stop bullying me for liking Unicorn.
All anime is a commercial for something, they don't make this stuff for free
>Space Battleship Yamato
not even close to as interesting as 79. also, yamato's ending was full of lame asspulls.
I need a doujin of this
>there are people posting on Yea Forums RIGHT NOW who have yet to watch 0079
people who say something like this about anything are usually the ones who finished them just recently
>Asspulls
>I'm not a magical empath/telepath/psychic pilot who can use anime mech magic to make everyone stop fighting.
UC Gundam is constantly full of asspulls
I don't mind it. It's not perfect but it's fine. Amuro, Char, Bright, Kai and Gihren especially have good voices.
you never see anyone die in """"kids anime"""" anymore. this is why i never understand how people can call 0079 a "kids toy commercial"? by today's standards, 79 could not air in a kids timeslot.
That only happened in one AU AGE, and it was bandai attempting to make a Gundam to get the pokemon audience.
UC conflicts always end up with one side winning.
ok but resurrecting two major characters from the dead is an absurd asspull even I won't stand for. Okita's death alone could not atone for that.
Broadcasting stations probably weren't as strict back then.
Also happened in Unicorn and 00 Gundam
And Char's Revenge
Maybe the problem is less about restrictions, and more about a cultural shift from post-war ideology to state propaganda peace.
Embarrassing.
>Fukui ruins Gundam with ZEON WAS TECHNICALLY RIGHT and some of the most retarded space magic in Unicorn
>shits all over 2199 by taking out all of the OCs because NOT MUH when he's given the chance to write 2202
00 Gundam
and tripfags like you should just consider suicide.
no tomino, no dice.
I assume you're referring to the inferior remake from 2013?
no???
I'm referring to the original series where Kodai's brother was somehow alive on Iscandar and Yuki came back to life miraculously after the poison gas shit at the end.
please don't post good anime in this thread, you might trigger mechafags
I mean, they never showed Mamoru dying, it was only assumed. And they didnt BRING him back to life, he was alive the whole time. And Yuki was literally alien space magic, which is no different than the shit pulled in 00 Gundam
but I am a mechafag. also interestingly Chiho Saito is a big fan of Gundam.
ji weng scum
It makes sense in CCA and 00.
In CCA it was supposed to be a one time miracle, like the Christmas truce soccer match in WWI.
In 00 they hint from early on in the series at the existence of aliens.
And GN particles are explained throughout the show and we see how they can link consciousness multiple times in the show.
The biggest subplot of 00 revolved around multiple factions fighting to control the method by which humanity was to interact with aliens when they met them. The GN particles always behaved within the physics the writers of the show created for them.
>They look at a bird
rotflol
user, you write poetry
>it was only assumed
But, it was at the literal core of Kodai's character drama/internal conflict, he should've stayed dead for the sake it. Yuki's death would've also made the story a lot more interesting.
alas, the duality of man
because gundam is the same rehashed piece of shit every time
sounds like Ji Weng propaganda
They deserved the ass whopping from Al Mu Luo during the One Year War.
>man
Doesnt matter since Kodai is killed in the end
>Kodai is killed in the end
i haven't made it past the original series yet
>Al Mu Luo
>Gallant Char starts playing
Amateur mistake.
>tfw ur childhood home is vandalized by feddie scum
is that painting on the wall identifiable?
I watched G Gundam which is better then 0079 in every way so it's fine.
It's a fantastic hype song but it's also annoying af because it's the only battle theme they fucking use
Kamilles development is pretty good. Char role as an Anti hero was pretty dope. The three way conflict among the aeug, titans, and axis were the best parts of Zeta. Zeta memes. Zeta has best female gundam antagonist, Haman Kahn.
Last two episodes of Zeta were pure kino
Zeta has an interesting premise, but the execution was decent at best.
G Gundam isn't over the top enough to be entertainingly wacky and not interesting enough to be serious. It's not the worst series ever but it's overrated and way too long. You could probably cut the episode count by 10 and not really miss much.
Between Zeta and ZZ Haman never really lost did she? She usually won and at worst she fought Judau to a draw before she asteroided herself.
Because the Origin is way better than that mediocrity
funny post
I think it’s more of a matter of Zeta having some pretty meh pacing, where really important shit happens one episode and then some inconsequential skirmish happens where a bunch of nobodies die the next.
Also, yes you have some pretty weak character next to some very strong ones which makes them seem lackluster.
I was thinking about finally picking this up a few days ago. I didn't realize there was an intentionally omitted ep in the west.
What's the deal with Doan's Island? Is it just that bad or something?
Amuro is extra autistic in that episode, in a funny way.
It's the worst episode of the series. It has an atrocious script while the series has many of the most memorable scenes of all anime. Don't skip it, just watch it knowing it's not that good
Wasn't it also made last minute so the animation is beyond fucked even by 0079 standards?
No wonder she has designed Anthy after Lalah.
Doesn't at least one character die on each Super Sentai season? That's as kids as it gets.
