I've really enjoyed the show so far, but I really hated yesterday's episodes. The excessive speed lines and yelling weren't done well and felt very off, and so was the humor. The little kid had been scared shitless, but all of a sudden his demeanor was such that he could scold him. It just felt really forced. It felt like it was written by unfunny people writing what they think funny, and so everything just felt really stiff. when they showed the little girls legs, I thought she was going to pee herself. that would have been hot.

It is pretty broken in the world itself because it makes no sense he ever survived or was accepted into the organization. But, aside from that, he's just a great character to contrast with Tanjiro. That's what he and Inosuke brought to the manga that immediately elevated it so much. He could never sustain his own gaiden for example but with the other demon hunters he fits in nicely.

Yeah, no. The people can hide from demons but obviously demons could still attack them in their sleep. All the demon would have to do is cover themselves to avoid the sun. I honestly didn't take particular notice of him reading these same chapters in the manga, but I can't deny he was fucking annoying this episode. I think in the manga most of his screeching took place during in-between panels and had almost no focus past his marriage spasm, but this episode spent like 15 minutes on it. Definitely a pacing and adaptation issue. Either way, it gets toned down massively as he starts participating in fights, hope this won't turn off the secondary crowd.
